I can't believe people used the dpad to move and used their right hand on the stick. Thankfully this layout allows you to play the proper way, which is C buttons to move and left hand for the stick.

As someone that's never played these games, can anyone tell me about the GAMES instead of moaning about key cards?

@Spider-Kev Those were old systems where digital games were in their infancy. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have made their last couple of machines backwards compatible with the account system, and there's nothing to suggest that's changing going forward.

@Psycho-Werekitsune You do know you can still download Wii, Wii U and 3DS games that you own? I'm assuming you can still access them on a different console if yours breaks, but I've never had to try it on those systems.

@Spider-Kev You couldn't play physical PS3 games on a PS4, or Wii U games on a Switch, so they were stuck on an old system. What's the difference?

@Psycho-Werekitsune Again, lies. I lost my Switch and when I bought a new one, guess what I did? That's right, I logged into my account and had access to all of my games.

@KociolekDoSyta First of all I never mentioned GameStop, I live in the UK so don't even have access to that shop. Secondly, you have no idea how easily available or what the prices will be for physical after 31st March.

@KociolekDoSyta I don't already own it, because I have no interest in it. However, if I want to buy it, I can. Guess what, physical versions of games stop being sold too, and then the second hand prices go through the roof. You make it seem like only digital games stop being sold. There is absolutely no digital specific problem here.

@sportymariosonicmixx You can still pick up a second hand physical copy pretty easily, but since it's a free game anyway, I don't know why you wouldn't just download it. The physical version came with DLC packs as well as the base game.

My Dad took me to Comet to get a new Snes game, and they were like £70 so I knew the game would have to last me a while. I was choosing between Street Fighter II and Nigel Mandel's World Championship. I figured because one of my friends already had SFII that Nigel Mansel was the way to go. Still regret that choice to this day.

Genuinely can't believe people like the North American one, it's terrible.

Maybe they didn't do enough Directs for it.

@BrokenCiv As does mine. My comment was a reply to them saying game key cards would eventually fail. Can't have it both ways claiming key cards will eventually fail and not acknowledging that every piece of tech will eventually fail.

@Lord Why do you need to have every game that you own installed at the same time? How many of them are you playing at once?
There will be a time when your console or game card fails, so that's another pointless argument.
You can still download your Wii games, and that console is 19 years old.

@Fake-news Did you read the article? It says you can only use the codes for the specific version of that code. It doesn't say if you've got a Switch 1 code that you can't redeem it on Switch 2.

@Ajent The reason it appears I'm being condescending is despite it being very clear what the score for this is about because the editor told you, and also the fact that it has been clarified by many people in the comments, you've just ignored it completely.
If you look at my first comment explaining this to someone, there was no facepalm or anything but since your comment was after it had been explained so often, I was understandably frustrated.
You have also conveniently left out part of your quote about it being a focus. "evaluating what they add to the original experience, and whether they're worth your time - and they will be scored accordingly." The score is about what they add, not the game as a whole.

@Blofse It's not actually on a TV, it's just a close up of the console.
