Re: Random: Super Mario Sunshine's FLUDD Shows Up In The New Mario Golf Game

Flashlink99

Super Mario Sunshine has a ton of potential, but it's so full of bugs and glitches that it's a pain to complete. Stuff like the Pachinko Shine that made me break the left joycon's rail out of frustration have soured my experience enough.
I was glad when Fludd "died", I always found it annoying with its voice and awkward controls, quite literally a d**chebag

Re: Square Enix Says A Console Version Of Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Depends On Demand

Flashlink99

@Dirty0814 I think you are onto something. One of the reasons I love the Switch is that it managed in just 4 years to compile a lot of classics that I loved into one huge library. I have a bookshelf full of great physical games, third-parties and almost all of the high profile first-party releases from Nintendo.
Unless Nintendo unveils a more powerful Switch-like console in the next generation, with full backwards compatibility, I will probably stop at the Switch, as it definetly won my gamer heart unlike any other system I played in my life

Re: Square Enix Says A Console Version Of Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Depends On Demand

@outsider83 I perfectly understand your feelings, maybe I was a bit too direct in my comment earlier and I apologize. For me at least the last Direct was exciting, having a new Warioware and Metroid after so many years have made me feel excited again about Nintendo releases. I’m also happy that after 10 years I got to enjoy Skyward Sword at its fullest potential (not the greatest classic Zelda game ever, but a whole lot better than if I played it on Wii back in the day).
Problem is that the days of seemingly infinite creativity during the PS2 and GameCube era are long gone, as the costs of game dev have risen too much and that makes AAA game companies to commit to predictable releases, sequels and remasters for the new generations (kind of like in the movie industry). I miss those days as many probably do here, and the only way to relieve a bit of those wonderful times is through either remasters or the tributes paid by indies.
As for the AAA releases, I am sick of open-world games, I miss the fleshed-out linear experiences.
Also maybe if you feel frustrated about anything related to gaming nowadays, I think you should analize the possibility of, maybe… growing out of gaming. I’m saying this as I also feel a bit the same, the Switch might be my final gaming investment before moving on

Re: Rumour: Metroid Prime Trilogy For Switch Ready To Go, According To Industry Insider

Flashlink99

@Mr-Fuggles777 Probably Nintendo wants the Zelda momentum going strong, as it's the second most popular franchise so they clearly want as much money as possible (quick mention, I'm not fully supportive of their pricing schemes, only bought SS HD because I missed the opportunity to play it in 2011 and by then I just grew out of the Wii fever, and I'm glad I didn't back then).
Meanwhile Metroid has always been an underdog of Nintendo's IPs and never had the commercial appeal of Mario or Zelda. That's why I think if they were to re-release the Prime trilogy on Switch, they wouldn't pull the same stunt like they afford with Zelda (separate releases), as it would probably hurt the commercial performance of the games. There are way more people who would buy anything Zelda compared to Metroid stuff.
I see Nintendo doing a minimum effort of changing the UI, AI upscaling and some small adjustments to Corruption's motion controls, like they did with Mario Galaxy.

Re: Rumour: Metroid Prime Trilogy For Switch Ready To Go, According To Industry Insider

Flashlink99

@Mr-Fuggles777 your comment makes absolute no sense. By your logic, Mario 3D All-Stars would have had only Mario 64 and Sunshine, while Super Mario Galaxy would have been released separately at full price…
A full-on-cartridge trilogy release is definitely possible as the games themselves are not huge

Also the leakers should lay off the constipation pills. They really got us with their anal leaks full of rumours during the last few years, like the Switch pr0

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch OLED Model

Flashlink99

@ok1 As in, Metroid Dread will not be enhanced in any way on OLED, as it has the same guts as the regular Switch, and the bigger OLED screen will have lower pixel denisty than regular or Lite so you may get some distortions here and there due to 720p res

Re: Here's How Nintendo Is Improving Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Over The Wii Original

Flashlink99

I actually am impressed and thankful that I preordered it 3 months ago and that I missed the opportunity to buy the original back in 2011, although I still have my Wii fully functional and could have done it at any point in the last 10 years (back in 2011 I got Twilight Princess instead, still not finished it, maybe with an HD upgrade for Switch I would).
Also those who whined about the Loftwing Amiibo can shut up now and enjoy the game as it is

Re: Soapbox: Sonic Adventure 2 Turns 20 — It’s Time For A Chao Garden Comeback

Flashlink99

Although I grew up playing the first Sonic Adventure on PC, I had a demo disc containing the second game's first few levels. I wish so bad they'd remaster or remake The Adventure games as they were both top notch!!
Also had a friend who owned a copy of the game on Dreamcast and told me about how addictive and unique the Chao Garden was, I was fascinated by how it utilized the VMU unit
PS: Chaos were adorable!

Re: Review: Winds of Change - A Polished, Absorbing Animal-Filled Visual Novel

Flashlink99

I understand that the Switch audience is big enough to support every denomination out there and that’s fine with me. However thinking that people should re-examine their life just because they don’t agree with certain themes or characters is a bit anti-“freedom of speech” but whatever.
We can express our gratitude or disgust about anything as long as it is well-mannered and justified.
As for me, I really feel a bit uneasy when furries are involved. However I enjoyed Undertale, which is clearly an lgbt-friendly game, but it has a compelling plot and good character development.

Re: A Plague Tale: Requiem - Cloud Version Confirmed For Switch

Flashlink99

It's better than nothing I guess, tried both Control and Hitman but beyond the notion of playing them on a Switch, it kills the whole "play home console games anywhere", as I don't have unlimited data plan and I had some fluctuations with the wifi connection. Might play at least the demo, get its feel and then send it back to the abyss

Re: Feature: Diving Deeper Into The Switch Game With A Perfect Metascore

Flashlink99

The story sounds great and compelling, however I've seen Flash games on Newgrounds from 1999 that have more replayability than this. Those perfect scores would be understandable, if they would have come from literary critics and such. As for me, with the exception of Ace Attorney and maybe Famicom Detective Club, I just don't consider visual novels real games

Re: Nintendo Switch Pro: Everything We Know So Far - 4K Visuals, Nvidia Tegra And 2021 Release Date

Flashlink99

Can't wait for the whole Switch Pro upgrade bulls**t to blow up into everyone's faces. So sick and tired about the rumors. This is getting beyond cringe and proves that fanboys really are ***** and that journalists really have nothing new to write about when it comes to the Switch
Not saying that the console doesn't deserve an upgrade but COME ON!!! 2 f***ing YEARS of nothing being endlessly shared on the internet like it's a schoolyard and people actually believing the crap spouted by ANALysts and such...
It is more likely that Nintendo will release a next-gen console before they go on "PS4 Pro route" with any current system of theirs, and it STILL won't be as powerful or even close to whatever Sony and Microsoft will release in the future
