@Frailbay30 never said it’s a powerhouse of a console, for power there is Steam Deck. I just saw Xphyle’s comment like a troll attempt as it made it sound like it will run and look like N64-level of sh*t. Miracles can be worked out with Switch’s limited hardware, hence stuff like Crysis, Doom Eternal, Alien Isolation and such. Is it wrong for me to try being a little more optimistic about the game’s potential on Switch?

@xphyle you do realize there are several games on Switch of this graphical style that look and run like in this trailer right?
Probably will be 30 fps with high asset graphics and include a performance mode. The downgrade you suggest is ridiculous

@Anti-Matter Your point is valid and it's great you have easy access to great GBA games this way. I am sad that the retro scene barely exists in my country (Romania). Not only that, a good friend of mine got a GBA in 2004 and still works to this day, but even back then he couldn't get a hold of the first party games, only crappy movie-licensed games and such

@Anti-Matter Yeah but not everyone has access or had the opportunity to buy a gameboy back in the day, or wants to go through the hassle of throwing hundreds of dolars on rare cartridges.
Many people like me haven't bought a Nintendo console in ages and the Switch (at least for me) is my first real console (Wii was too casual and didn't have many of the big games in its lifetime).
I would enjoy playing those few worthy GB/GBC games on Switch, and hopefully GBA would follow suit sometime later

Honestly, they should use this opportunity to offer us Warlocked on Game Boy Color, it’s a really good strategy game and a forgotten footnote in Nintendo’s history sadly. Or even Metal Gear Solid : Ghost Babel also on GBC would be nice

I’m amazed how many people loved the bloatware that was the Wii U OS. It was incredibly slow to navigate, even though it looked fun.
I don’t want the console screech to a halt just so I can get my screen loaded with Miis, give me the games.
Personally, and I’ll get a lot of hate for saying this, I like the minimalist feel of the Switch’s OS. It is power efficient and for the most part, I can start a game in a jiffy.
If only it could have had folders and maybe the possibility to use themes, it would have been perfect

Played the arcade version with my gf a few months ago during a trip, it was the first time in many years when I had a lot of fun playing an arcade racing game, and pretty innovative in certain aspects!
Hearing that the game will come to Switch in an even more fleshed out form makes me excited and my wallet weeps

On PC, Witcher 3 requires 2 gb more of RAM than Dying Light at minimum, Switch being clearly under both and yet Witcher plays quite good on the hybrid. And The Outer Worlds is a bad example as anything using Unreal Engine 4 on Switch is almost garbage (Dying Light runs on Chrome Engine 6), so your comparison makes absolute no sense...
Witcher has a colossal map full of foliage, villages, caves, mountains and so on, with instant access to many interiors. Dying Light seemed a lot more like a closed environment to me when I played it 5 years ago. Only the zombie count could make a strain on the processor I think, otherwise I don't see a problem with it, it's an early-gen game so Switch should handle it fine

I have a feeling skeptics here haven't played Witcher 3 on Switch, which was released originally around the same time as Dying Light and is a whole lot bigger and detailed compared to the DL
Not saying that it will be gorgeous, but it won't be downright ugly or play horribly. I expect a 720p 30fps docked at best

Although the practice of playing these expansions is questionable at best, I appreciate the dedication of the mod community to reimagine and retool assests in games, this being applicable even for Nintendo’s franchises.

@CharlieGirl This is the problem I’m talking about. I don’t see a problem in feeling good about yourselves, everyone is different and has different tastes as Kate pointed out earlier.
However in recent times everyone is responding with more hate instead of being more understanding of each other, this being true for both camps, LGBT and conservatives.
We should focus on what brings us closer and learn that no matter what sexuality we are, if we have a rotten spirit then we deserve all the hate.

There’s enough games for everybody, and I see no problem with that. I am straight and yet I enjoyed games like Undertale in the past for the good writing, not necessarily for the LGBT themes in it, which may have attracted others (and that’s totally fine to me).
The only problem some people may have with the whole LGBT activism from the past few years is that the most vocal activists have become so obnoxious to most people that they irk when they hear about sexuality and pride and so on. I, for one, miss the world of pre-2010s when everybody seemed to get along really well and there were not such levels of vitriol in the air…
There is more to life than sexuality and we can all be friends, even if you are straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual or whatever. It matters the kind of person you are at heart!

@anoyonmus Doom Eternal could fit on a 32 gb cart with both Ancient Gods dlc included. 18 gb is only the base game. I would be fine even with the base game and dlc separately, just don’t make me download over 20 gb on my already full sd card

It will probably be Doom 2016 in its entirety on a cart, with the rest being downloads, like the collection on the other consoles. It's a shame they didn't consider Doom Eternal for a physical release...

I'm glad to see that Arceus can be the BOTW moment for the franchise we have all been waiting for. The graphics still look a bit rough but I don't expect from Game Freak, knowing their difficult understanding of 3D game dev, to achieve the beauty of Zelda with this, it just needs a bit more polish

They really just miss the point of the original art direction and go for those overused and basic rEAlIsTIC graphics. Not to mention that most Unreal games on Switch look or play like ass so those demos are always a kick under the belt. Also Link looks like a kid who just shaved his beard, looks horrifying

I have a feeling that Nintendo will push the Switch family of devices to a 10 to 14-year lifespan, like they did with the original GameBoy (1989-2003).
Proof being that they intend on prolonging the usual life cycle of their system with the Switch

I do support such an idea, however Sonic Team is clearly not competent enough to remake the game into what was intended to be back then, proof being their games from the last 15 years or so

The game looks great, but, like with 3D-Dot Heroes, the name clearly buried this potential gem.
I wonder why devs use names like "Babjqpvq//P.P.PooPoo" for their games and not something more... pronouncable.
Anyways, I wish 3D-Dot Heroes would be ported to Switch
