@Stocksy for those of us who grew up with those games it is important, as those soundtracks are part of the GTA experience in the 2000s and fit perfectly in the atmosphere of those games (this being especially true for Vice City)
If they start replacing the tracks with others, it basically feels like another game and kills a bit of the nostalgic appeal of this release.
I am hopeful they will do justice with the soundtrack, for example Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 did it (minus 2 tracks but still, it’s a whole lot better than what Rockstar did to the GTAs Vice City to 4 in the last decade)
@Azuris smart business choice! I still cherish my original copy of San Andreas from 2005 (the one with the book) but I got the trilogy on Steam at the time just to own it digitally as well. It’s a shame indeed that people cannot buy the games from Steam anymore and they have to resort to second-hand market or outright piracy…
As for the retail pc games, I own San Andreas, GTA 3 and I’m planning to get Vice City as well (only played it on a pirated copy back in the day)
@Azuris 20? Damn, got it late last year for 3 euros or so on Steam and I still believe that owning the original retail PC versions from 2000s is the only way to play the games as intended (with a few patches to work on modern OSs of course)
I really don’t care about AC, so why should I pay 40 euros for bloatware? I only want the N64 games and, maybe, the Mega Drive games.
I really hope they go back to the drawing board and think of a cheaper package WITHOUT the AC DLC!
I really was excited about the N64 games, until the price dropped…
If I had a slight disdain for AC’s popularity before, now I absolutely have a motivated hatred for it!
@120frames-please being remastered in Unreal Engine 4, I really have doubts about its performance on Switch… Although I would be ok with a constant 30 fps as long as it has better controls and keeps the original soundtrack (the graphics are timeless to me). Luckily I have access to a PS5 for that 4K 120 fps goodness. This clearly will be my first double-dipping of this generation
This is historical, after 20 years, mainline GTA games are finally playable on a Nintendo system, long after GameCube. Everything is coming full circle!
@kducky11 Yeah, a crossover with gaming characters in a brawling game, with a cohesive design and has at least some rules when it comes to introducing new characters (being a character who originated in a video game mainly, and nothing else). Meanwhile, Fortnite introduces whatever is trendy at the moment, Neymar being the most recent example I can think of, which doesn’t even make sense. Not to mention all the weird events Epic introduces into, like Travis Scott’s concert last year or whatever was supposed to be that screening of MLK’s “Dream” speech, which basically make Fortnite resembling something more of a Second Life spiritual successor, and not the innovative battle royale shooter it was supposed to be in the beginning.
@kducky11 Triggered much? The community is outright obnoxious and I don’t think a great shooter lets you play with Neymar and Ryu for Christ Sake… it’s a pop-culture dump and you know it
I hope you’re kidding with Fortnite, aka the cringiest game in history. At this point why not include the Among Us character? In reality, I just hope it will come full circle and include Waluigi as a final Smash fighter
2/10 is such a high score, should have been negative really, can’t even flush the game case down the toilet so that’s enough to make the game’s score negative
Aaah yes, in Europe it’s always the F o o t i e game that always reigns supreme. Might get it on PS5, hope it’s a next-gen showcase and not a pay-2-win mess
@nkarafo it really depends, I have posted so many photos from Bucharest’s subway on Instagram for years, only twice or so got yelled at by security (one time I was photographing the trains with a big film camera so go figure 😆). The Titan station (shown in the trailer) is the most unique in the whole network
Game looks great and I don’t seem to remember if Nintendo ever released a full 3D platformer with Kirby in the past. Might get it, I just hope is not too easy like almost every Kirby game in the last decades
I’ll get the games as they are really nice, but I have one grudge…
Why does LRG always snatch such releases??? Their distribution is severely limited, costs a lot to import their releases (for someone outside the US) and I heard horror stories about taking ages to get the games from them…
As soon as it becomes available at my local stores in Romania, I’ll snatch that cart as fast as it snatched my attention and tokens in the arcade a few months ago. It’s a great modern classic I believe
@Frailbay30 never said it’s a powerhouse of a console, for power there is Steam Deck. I just saw Xphyle’s comment like a troll attempt as it made it sound like it will run and look like N64-level of sh*t. Miracles can be worked out with Switch’s limited hardware, hence stuff like Crysis, Doom Eternal, Alien Isolation and such. Is it wrong for me to try being a little more optimistic about the game’s potential on Switch?
@xphyle you do realize there are several games on Switch of this graphical style that look and run like in this trailer right?
Probably will be 30 fps with high asset graphics and include a performance mode. The downgrade you suggest is ridiculous
@Anti-Matter Your point is valid and it's great you have easy access to great GBA games this way. I am sad that the retro scene barely exists in my country (Romania). Not only that, a good friend of mine got a GBA in 2004 and still works to this day, but even back then he couldn't get a hold of the first party games, only crappy movie-licensed games and such
@Anti-Matter Yeah but not everyone has access or had the opportunity to buy a gameboy back in the day, or wants to go through the hassle of throwing hundreds of dolars on rare cartridges. Many people like me haven't bought a Nintendo console in ages and the Switch (at least for me) is my first real console (Wii was too casual and didn't have many of the big games in its lifetime). I would enjoy playing those few worthy GB/GBC games on Switch, and hopefully GBA would follow suit sometime later
I don’t see the point in the article-long sarcasm, but this movie will certainly crash and burn really hard. However, there should be a movie adaptation to that Zelda game
Honestly, they should use this opportunity to offer us Warlocked on Game Boy Color, it’s a really good strategy game and a forgotten footnote in Nintendo’s history sadly. Or even Metal Gear Solid : Ghost Babel also on GBC would be nice
@Specter_of-the_OLED he’d probably bring armageddon by using only a measly 1.2% of his power. Opponents’ bodies would blow up, being too afraid to even conceptualize what fatality would await them when fighting Shaggy
I’m amazed how many people loved the bloatware that was the Wii U OS. It was incredibly slow to navigate, even though it looked fun.
I don’t want the console screech to a halt just so I can get my screen loaded with Miis, give me the games.
Personally, and I’ll get a lot of hate for saying this, I like the minimalist feel of the Switch’s OS. It is power efficient and for the most part, I can start a game in a jiffy.
If only it could have had folders and maybe the possibility to use themes, it would have been perfect
No thanks, I'm waiting for the Animal Crossing (tm) condoms to prevent crossbreeding in certain communities, Animal Crossing (tm) Bibles and, the most important, Animal Crossing (tm) toilet paper (having the scent of Korok seeds)
Played the arcade version with my gf a few months ago during a trip, it was the first time in many years when I had a lot of fun playing an arcade racing game, and pretty innovative in certain aspects!
Hearing that the game will come to Switch in an even more fleshed out form makes me excited and my wallet weeps
@Mountain_Man https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/12446 https://www.pcgamer.com/dying-light-system-requirements-are-killer/
On PC, Witcher 3 requires 2 gb more of RAM than Dying Light at minimum, Switch being clearly under both and yet Witcher plays quite good on the hybrid. And The Outer Worlds is a bad example as anything using Unreal Engine 4 on Switch is almost garbage (Dying Light runs on Chrome Engine 6), so your comparison makes absolute no sense...
Witcher has a colossal map full of foliage, villages, caves, mountains and so on, with instant access to many interiors. Dying Light seemed a lot more like a closed environment to me when I played it 5 years ago. Only the zombie count could make a strain on the processor I think, otherwise I don't see a problem with it, it's an early-gen game so Switch should handle it fine
I have a feeling skeptics here haven't played Witcher 3 on Switch, which was released originally around the same time as Dying Light and is a whole lot bigger and detailed compared to the DL
Not saying that it will be gorgeous, but it won't be downright ugly or play horribly. I expect a 720p 30fps docked at best
