"Brutal" hand-drawn platformer Salt And Sanctuary has received a physical edition on Nintendo Switch, and you can get your hands on your own copy right now.
If you haven't heard of this one before, it aims to play out in a similar manner to Dark Souls but takes things in a slightly different direction with its 2D, hand-drawn visuals and a focus on platforming. You can check out our full review of the game here if you're interested in learning more; we thought that it provides a challenging and fun action adventure, but perhaps relies a little too heavily on that "Souls-like" focus.
This new, physical edition is called the Salt and Sanctuary: Drowned Tome Edition and is published by Leadman Games. It includes the game on a cartridge, a full manual, a double-sided poster, and a download code for the original soundtrack. You can find it for $29.99 at both brick-and-mortar and online retailers today (Amazon US has it in stock and provides shipping to most places around the world).
Michelle and James Silva, co-creators at developer Ska Studios, have said the following:
“After so much support and enthusiasm for Salt and Sanctuary, it feels great to be able to bring fans this special physical edition on Switch. We welcome you to our cursed realm with open arms. And claws. Very, very sharp claws.”

I have this on the vita and it is brilliant. Not sure if I will double dip on it but I would recommend anyone who likes soul style hard games should get this game.
I skipped it when it first released on the eShop so decided to grab this, it's on its way from America as we speak. Amazon was selling it for $35 Australian when I preordered for some reason which was too cheap to pass up.
Meh. I'll pass. Game looks average and I do not like that it's not pixels.
Salt and Sanctuary and also Golf Story are available physically as of yesterday in NA.
Also when you check out that review check out all the others that point out this is a must have game if you like Dark Souls.
@masterLEON That's great, what about us other people in the world who do not live in the US?
Edit: The physical is available on Amazon.co.uk for £35 plus delivery (which is over £12 more)

@Sirius The game is güt, much better than I was expecting, and I hate games that look like they could have been made in adobe flash. This game is more than it seems at first glance.
Great game, nice physical package.
This looks rather interesting.
Terrific game! The parry/ counter mechanic is really fun to use and the platforming is well done. My only gripe with the game is that there is no in- game map, I don't think the physical map enough. Otherwise, great game!
I think anyone who was a fan of the Metroid SR (3DS), should consider picking this up.
lol still dark souls name in each hack/slash game to compare. Not sure if it's valid to do it that way if you ask me. Well whatever
Got on Order for physical have to go pickup still.

@Alucard83 media overuse the comparison with dark souls, but Salt and Sanctuary really is a dark souls in 2D. Its not just because it is difficult. It uses the same mecanics of losing souls on death, stamina managment, bazzilion weapon choices, NO ingame map and other things
@BionicDodo To be fair, not really interested in this game it's more the Golf Story Physical I want as missed out on the Limited Run edition
Just started Dark Souls for the first time so i’ll be good for some time. Backlog is already filling up as it is now so i’ll just put this on my watch list for now.
I am confused that you make it look like this is news from today, this is late August news...
I need this game in my life....I’ve repeatedly beaten every Dark Souls game and Bloodborne, so I’m I’m magnet for games that makes your blood boil haha. I don’t mind a challenging game as long as your deaths are because of your screwups instead of unfair and horrible game mechanics.
