Until someone can beat Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft at creating content, I don’t think any cloud-based startups will make a difference beyond the ultra-casual.

I do think disc and cartridge hardware will wave its last gasp this generation, though, and am perfectly fine with that.

Origami King is far from a "fiasco." Battle system isn't great, but it's a fun game.

I started with Sunshine, actually. Surprised by the difficulty level. Right at the first level, getting these ten blue coins is an utter pain.

Jumping Joe & Friends is a surprising awesome little piece of shovelware.

Robonauts is fun for a few hours. Puzzle Book is fun for a few minutes.

So not as bad as you’d think. JJ&F is absolutely worth it if you need something banal and mindless for a few minutes.

I'm three banners in. I mean......it's fine. I'm not hating it. I just think some of the battles are utterly impossible to get right on the first try.

I think Nintendo can do cartoon-style graphics as well as anyone. If they stick to their wheelhouse, the Switch can absolutely remain relevant.

I don't get the obsession with trying to port AAA, hardware-intensive titles to the Switch, which then just point out its obvious deficiencies. If you want to play those games, just buy the system they work best on. Let Switch developers stick to what the Switch can do best.

It'd being an old-school simple shooter might be enough for me to throw down a couple bucks to a laugh at the other stupidity on display.

I'm surprised, but glad, Witcher 3 isn't on here. I understand how getting the entire game on the Switch was an accomplishments, but the graphics really took me right out of the experience. It's for this reason I can't wait for the PS5. AAA titles have their place, and the Switch has its.

Looks a bit bigger than Diagon Alley, so size is just fine.

Other than the obvious picks, Hob, Yoku’s Island Express, and Fitness Boxing are tremendous games you will wind up buying. The latter was a complete pandemic lifesaver until I finally got Ring Fit last week.

And yet the best thing they could do would be to allow for multiple islands.

I don’t think the game has a ton of longevity, but it’s definitely a fun play, and something you’ll come back to in small bursts. This is an easy 7 for me.

When the new systems come out, I’ll play the systemically intense games on those. I already dealt with Witcher 3 on the Switch and couldn’t get past the graphical limitations. The Switch does many things well, and I’ll stick to the games which take best advantage of that.

The obsession with physical releases on the part of some is ridiculous. It’s a little plastic thing in a plastic box with a cover on it. Roger Dean isn’t exactly designing the cover art here.

With the next generation of consoles coming up, I feel like the Switch will begin to become more of a compliment than a main system. I’m getting tired of hearing “it looks bad AND stutters AND takes ten minutes to load each time....but it’s the full game!”

I’m going to just play demanding games on a PS5 and/or Xbox X.

They went straight for Ring Fit Adventure.

Frame rate stuff is definitely there, but this is a ton of fun. Not too stressful, very much in the Minecraft universe, and really does hit that Diablo sweet spot often.

I finally picked up Tales of Vesperia. It’s fine so far. Reaaaally sticks to genre convention, and the battle style isn’t the greatest, but it’s passing the time while I pay Tom Nook the last of my home loans.

You could port this right now to the Switch, charge $49.99 and people would buy in droves. It would look and play better than 99% of the “retro” stuff on the E-Shop.
