Re: DOOM Eternal Producer Shares id's Side Of The Story After Composer Severs All Ties

@NintendoPok Well, they imposed this deadline yeah but they at least gave id several extra months to work on Doom Eternal so I wouldn't say this was incompetent decision making in comparison to anything related to Fallout 76.

That's the problem with commercial products that ride upon the output of visionaries and creators, it's highly unstable because of the rulings made by businessmen and expectations set by the public. Prime example, "The Thief And The Cobbler".

Man, I knew that id's audio engineer was in for a rough ride once he was revealed to have worked on the track.

Overall, I don't exactly blame anyone here, it just seems like an unfortunate case of production deadlines limiting an artist, although, like Marty said, Mick could have said something to stop the abuse his audio engineer was receiving online but I suppose he might not want to be involved any further in this controversy.

Re: Your Favourite Mario Characters Will Appear In Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics

Elvie

Weren't the Mario characters' cameos shown off in the initial reveal?

@justin233 There's apart of me that's interested but overall, it mostly just seems like a collection of old board & card games I can play for free on a laptop or phone.

Can you tell me what it does to set itself apart from other classic game compilations because I'm fond of these kind of games but I wouldn't want to pay $40-$60 for it.

Re: Notorious "Video Nasty" Cannibal Holocaust Is Getting An Interactive Sequel On Switch

I never imagined that something like this would happen but controversy aside, this is rather interesting.

@Impaler-D I haven't seen any of Fulci's movies except his unofficial sequel to Dawn Of The Dead and that film was kinda boring to me. Great special effects but I didn't find the movie as a whole remarkable. Were his other films better and what games specifically took inspiration from him?

@YorkshireNed I guess it's easier to hate on a exploitation director who isn't concerned with class and high-brow culture unlike Herzog, even though the animals in Nosferatu suffered a great deal more than anything this guy filmed.

Re: The End Of An Era: E3 2020 Is Officially Cancelled

Elvie

End of an era? Isn't that jumping to a conclusion?

E3 may be in a bit of a decline but the planners cancelled it over health and safety concerns. If E3 was in its prime and this outbreak occurred, I bet they still would have cancelled the event.

Re: DOOM Eternal Will Let You Customise The DOOM Slayer, Even As A Unicorn

Elvie

@mesome713 There is a co-op of sorts just not one where you can slay demons.

I am not digging this joke skin. Doom games have been known for having a sense of humor, whether it be the decapitated heads of a bunny/John Romero or hidden enemies ready to pounce players over a power-up. This is just kinda unimaginative in comparison since skins like this have been done countless times.

Re: Miyamoto Reminds Us Nintendo Wants Its Characters To Go Beyond Video Games

Elvie

It might actually be a good thing for Nintendo to do this sort of thing. Think about all the dormant franchises that could be given another chance by exposing them to other forms of media. How many people would say no to an R.C. Chibi Robo?

@Crockin Yeah, they also have a reputation for being a bit temperamental at times although I think Disney might have been worse.

Re: E3 2020 "Moving Ahead Full Speed" Despite Coronavirus Concerns

Elvie

@Bondi_Surfer Alright, I admit my error. I looked into and found 90% concentrations can kill viruses.

I only said it as I remember going through a portion of one of my classes regarding antibiotic resistance and how it wasn't a good idea to rely on hand sanitizers during flu season.

Re: E3 2020 "Moving Ahead Full Speed" Despite Coronavirus Concerns

Elvie

I fear that people and developers are going drop out of this year's E3 which, along with Sony's recent standard of absence, will make this event pretty dry.

Of course I fear the virus' spread more, it's just that this is the kind of rock and hard place situation where there's no favorable outcome.
