Dale Baer? I remember reading about him several weeks ago after he passed away from A.L.S. complications.
This guy had a pretty diverse career in the animation industry and this Nintendo ad is a good example. Props to him for making this commercial feel so lively.
@impurekind I'm pretty sure that the animation industry standard for frame rate is 24 frames per second, it's just there's 12 unique frames in a second with duplicates of each making up the other half.
The Japanese cover is rather odd with its slanted logo and the distant bird's eye view of the 64 DS team. Yoshi offers the most personality by tripping over but I can't help but feel this is something that Luigi would be better suited for.
The NA/EU gives you a real sense of comradery with slight hints of rivalry and dysfunction among the game's cast. The posing of the characters is what really sells this, and for that, I believe it registers as one of the most memorable DS cover arts.
@abe_hikura Inafune was the co-creator of Mega Man. His contribution to its creation was mainly the character designs so, when speaking solely in terms of hands-on game development, he didn't actually do a whole lot for the first game.
This new Spirit series appears to be a cash grab as far as I can tell. I barely see any connection to the original film other than its title character.
It's a reboot, yes, but it doesn't really have the "spirit" of the film.
@Mr-Fuggles777 @PhilKenSebben Sorry guys, but it's not likely given that Bioware was bought out by EA and Ken Penders threw lawsuit fit about the game.
@Guest88 But Iger intentionally misled Lucas to believe that he would have considerable creative direction for the franchise moving forward. Instead, he just became another consultant for Disney.
Also, Lucas didn't even sell his company for monetary gain since he donated almost all of the money he obtained from the deal.
I know this is a non-canonical "what if" sort of spin-off in The Evil Dead franchise but I hope Sam Raimi is working on this game. He would really seal the deal for this game's authenticity.
Given everything the Doom Eternal Seitch port has been through, I wouldn't had been surprised by another delay.
It's cool that's it coming out in the first half of December but I'm still upset that I'm going to have to either get another microSD card or annihilate a bunch of games to accommodate all of it.
I picked up Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. from Best Buy yesterday and despite having two N.E.S., a recreation of Ball, and the obligatory clock function, I feel that it was worth every penny.
Here's to a Zelda Game & Watch to coincide with Breath Of The Wild 2.

Re: Our Top Picks From The Games In The Current eShop Sale
Wait, Doom R.P.G. finally got re-released? Sweet! I hope they can get Wolfenstein R.P.G. to come next.
Re: Capcom Reveals Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection Contains A Local Co-Op Mode
Seems like a missed opportunity to not have Firebrand as a playable character.
Re: Pyra and Mythra Are Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Newest DLC Fighters
Not particularly hyped over them but it's nice to see people happy about their inclusion.
Maybe next time Chibi-Robo...

My hopes for Metroid Prime 4 are rising.

Re: Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Hits Nintendo Switch This March
Anyone else buying this the first week it rolls out?
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #77 - Super Mario 64 DS
@abe_hikura 64 DS was originally planned to have 4 player co-op but it was dropped during development unfortunately.
@ImagineerNik So Mario was the bad guy all along? His status as a villain goes much deeper than his outing in Donkey Kong Jr..

It's been prime time for a new Sonic animated series.

Re: Video: 13 Great Wii U Games Still Not on Switch
@RonDale Right on. My biggest problem with Switch is that it abandoned dual screens and asymmetrical functionality.
If the Switch "Pro" is dual screen based, I would love games like ZombiU to pop up on it and demonstrate that vision that Iwata pushed for.
Re: Konami's Puzzle Shooter Block Hole Is This Week's Arcade Archives Release
@Tandy255 I hope you enjoy it. This is a bit of a "you either like it or hate it" kind of game.
Personally, I think it's fantastic at encouraging efficiency, timing, and light amounts of creativity in clearing these blocks.
I also suggest to check out the G.B. version on 3DS if you end up liking this as it adds power-ups which offer up some cool strategies.
Re: Konami's Puzzle Shooter Block Hole Is This Week's Arcade Archives Release
This game is an underrated classic. I found it hard to care that it was priced $8 when the game itself is too fun for me to wait for a sale.
Some may think it's redundant but I was always really stimulated anytime I got a good session going.
Re: Final Sword Returns To The Japanese Switch eShop As A Definitive Edition Release
@Quarth Unrelated to everything here but the arcade version of Quarth just came out on the eShop.
Search for its international title, "Block Hole", and you'll find it at a price of $8.
Re: Tingle's Designer Takaya Imamura Has Retired From Nintendo
This is quite sad to hear. He directed one of my favorite 3DS games of all time (Steel Diver). Best of luck to him.
Re: After Four Years Away, The Man Behind Devil's Third Is Ready To Make Another Video Game
Devil's Third was actually a decent game. It's campaign was... passable but the multiplayer was fantastic.
I would love to see it ported to Switch just to play it online again.
Re: Sega To Share "Something Special" In Its First Live Stream Of 2021
My money is on Sonic Boom 3.
Re: Lederhosen Luigi Is Now A Thing Thanks To Mario Kart Tour's Latest Update
I would like to see Beefeater Luigi next.
Re: Nintendo Is Releasing Another Limited Supply Pin Set For Super Mario's 35th Anniversary
It would had been nice if Nintendo provided additional missions beyond purchasing Super Mario 3D World/Bowser's Fury.
Even if I did all of the ones I can do, I'll would only have 12 missions completed out of the 15 required.

Re: Star Wars Video Games Join Forces Under Lucasfilm Games
Anyone else wish that Disney hadn't bought out Star Wars?
I'm not even a hardcore fan but it just sickens me how Lucas was initially kicked to the curb once the deal was done.
Re: Random: Family Video Closes Its Doors After 42 Years
This pandemic just killed a major aspect of my nostalgia. I'll never forget their free kid movies and those obelisks they kept out front.
Re: Nintendo Appears To Be Pulling DSiWare Games From The 3DS eShop
@Bizaster I sure do. I sunk a bunch of time into it and even drew my own characters and backgrounds for some of the pictures I took.
Re: Nintendo's Doug Bowser Discusses The Future Of Animal Crossing: New Horizons
@RhiannonRune Mostly but Nintendo could produce more games that make more use of Amiibo figures.
Hopefully, they just don't repeat the mistakes of Amiibo Festival.
Re: Nintendo's Doug Bowser Discusses The Future Of Animal Crossing: New Horizons
He's forgetting about the third route the series dabbled in: the highly underrated A.C.: Amiibo Festival.
Re: Empire Of Sin Is Getting A Massive Patch To Fix A Whole Host Of Problems
@Silly_G Yeah, I just thought Daikatana was a fluke. I would had imagined that he try to avoid being associated with another broken game like this.
Re: Empire Of Sin Is Getting A Massive Patch To Fix A Whole Host Of Problems
How could John Romero release a game in this state?
Re: The Next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Will Be Revealed During The Game Awards
@PoorGeno Let's just say, I have an inside source.
Re: Double Dragon Neon Elbows Its Way Onto Switch This Month
Sweet! I've been playing through a bunch of Double Dragon and Kunio Kun games recently and I always wanted to give this a try.
Re: Developers Of The New Perfect Dark Will Treat It "Very Carefully"
@belmont They didn't even develop the new Battletoads. They just supervised another studio to do it for them.
Re: Ash Williams Returns In Evil Dead: The Game, Coming To Switch In 2021

Re: Ghost ‘n Goblins Resurrection And Capcom Arcade Stadium Coming To Switch In February 2021
The animations for the new Ghost & Goblins is quite off-putting for my taste.
Capcom Arcade Stadium sounds cool, I hope there are other studios like Namco that try out this kind of thing.
Re: Sephiroth From Final Fantasy VII Joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate This Month
@jamesthemagi Yeah, I would have enjoyed having Caeda in Smash, a lot of potential for a unique moveset in her.
Roy, Lucina, and Chrom were all Marths, more or less.
Re: Sephiroth From Final Fantasy VII Joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate This Month
Welp, prepare for Smash to be flooded with Final Fantasy characters for now on, even Nintendo got sick of adding Fire Emblem reps.
Re: The Next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Will Be Revealed During The Game Awards
It's Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII.
Re: The Game Awards 2020 Will Feature '12 To 15' New Game Reveals, Geoff Keighley Confirms
Metroid Prime 4. That's all I want.
Re: Community: Found A Great Game On Switch eShop? Send Us Your Recommendations
Not a gem in the sense that it's obscure but there hasn't been much coverage over realMyst: Masterpiece Edition.
It's a bit dated in some areas but I thought it was a decent update of the original
Re: Buy DOOM Eternal Early On Switch And You'll Get DOOM 64 And 'Rip And Tear' Pack Free
The rightful thing for Bethesda to do after straight up cancelling the physical releases, especially the Deluxe Edition.
I still want hat alternate cover art but I guess this is what we have to put up with for choosing portability.
Re: DOOM Eternal Blasts To Switch In December - Check Out The New Trailer
Given everything the Doom Eternal Seitch port has been through, I wouldn't had been surprised by another delay.

Re: Doom Eternal For Switch Will No Longer Receive A Physical Release
@ICISAZEL The part that upsets me is that I preordered the Deluxe Edition which came with a pretty cool alternate cover and several in-game bonuses.
I hope the bonuses can be offered as consolation for cancelling the physical version but I have doubt they will.
Re: Doom Eternal For Switch Will No Longer Receive A Physical Release
B.F.D.: Big F---ing Disappointment.
Re: Happy 68th Birthday, Shigeru Miyamoto
Since Pac-Man is his favorite video game character, I suggest we get him a lemon meringue pie...with a slice taken out.

Here's to a Zelda Game & Watch to coincide with Breath Of The Wild 2.
Re: Site News: Nintendo Life Turns 15 Today
Here's to another 15 years. Happy Birthday guys! You're one of the best Nintendo sites around.
Re: It's Official, Drawn To Life: Two Realms Launches On Switch Next Month
Nice that they got some of the original 5th Cell staff to work on this Drawn To Life game.
Is a new Scribblenauts next?
Re: Review: Control: Ultimate Edition - A Highly Convincing Proof-Of-Concept For Cloud Gaming On Switch
It would have been nice for them to include motion/gyro options so they could call it, (Joy)Control: Ultimate Edition.
