Brawl got me into Game & Watch and it made me realized that after the Gallery and Collections series ended, there's still a whole bunch of G&Ws that haven't been remade or rereleased.
Honestly, I hope we can get some Switch game that compiles every one, even the licensed ones like Snoopy, for an anniversary or something like that.
One nitpick I have though is that the add-on packs have their results screens stuck in 4:3 fullscreen and the text corresponding to it slightly overlaps into the border, either suggesting the text may be formatted to widescreen or that the results screen has been cropped somehow.
Netflix has ruined Dragon's Lair, Avatar, and now Resident Evil.
Any guesses for what's next?
Edit: I typed this while on break at my job so I kinda rushed this comment. I, or anybody not involved on these projects, can offer a valid critical opinion until these projects come out but we can all express our skepticism at them.
Based upon what I have heard from the development of these pieces of content, I don't have high hopes.
@ThanosReXXX Story is that Hayao Miyazaki's son, Goro, was brought on to direct by producers against Hayao's will due to his inexperience and potential allegations of nepotism. It also didn't help that Hayao spent years acquiring the film rights to the book (the author feared that a film adaptation would turn out bad), only to get caught up in another project before he could adapt it.
This caused some rift between the two and some believe Goro changed the story from the book to reflect their relationship.
All this combined made for a rather mediocre film, something which is almost unheard of for Studio Ghibli.
The good thing is that I believe they had made up and Goro redeemed himself by directing From Up On Poppy Hill.
@ThanosReXXX Oh, no problem. It always a pleasure to hear people talk about Studio Ghibli movies except when they talk about Tales Of Earthsea (understandably negative opinions).
@JimmySpades I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't watched Grave Of The Fireflies. It's something I need to get around to doing.
@ThanosReXXX I recommended Spirited Away since it always seemed like a popular pick but my personal favorites would be My Neighbor Totoro and Castle In The Sky.
Although, I do like Spirited Away very much, something that probably extends to almost any Studio Ghibli film.
Despite the fact that my sentiments will appear unoriginal or redundant, I wanted to say that I love Chibi-Robo and it kills me a bit inside that he may be gone.
Sure, he'll probably return at some point, but it will probably be without Skip and that disappoints me the most.
"Since Paper Mario: Sticker Star, it’s no longer possible to modify Mario characters or to create original characters that touch on the Mario universe. That means that if we aren’t using Mario characters for bosses, we need to create original characters with designs that don’t involve the Mario universe at all, like we’ve done with Olly and the stationery bosses".
Are they still following one of the same guidelines that helped ruin the reputation of the Paper Mario series?
This sounds kinda fun but, so far, the only games I have seen asymmetrical multiplayer done well have been Nintendo Land and Zombi U.
Friday The 13th, for example, is most enjoyable through the lone player role and if this game is like that, then the team roles are probably going to be relatively uninteresting in comparison.
The Mr. Driller series may be infrequently used but so is Dig Dug.
Ever since Namco made the Dig Dug protagonist a supporting character in this series, it feels as though they neglected his own games aside from one DS game.
A Dig Dug remake like Pac-Man Championship Edition could be great if done right.
@Toy_Link It's debatable that he did. I heard he used the DIP switches to pause the game at certain points which wouldn't be accepted by people today. Plus, there are other claims of a perfect score.
One of Doom's strengths is the ability to immerse the player as a space marine.
Duke Nukem's strength is being entertained by a definable character that took the best elements of action heroes along with Ash Williams and Roddy Piper.
Both games have solid and comparable gunplay, but their approaches to the playable character are near opposites. Either way, you feel pretty cool after beating a map.
@mesome713 That article does say it's something of a rumor and that the person who brought it to light doesn't even have 100% confidence in his sources.
It was also reported that Death Stranding was a bestseller in Japan and it was the most successful debut of a new game I.P. over there while making the top charts in several other countries.

I just wanted to say that this article has a funny tagline.

More like Spam Force: Repetitive Edition.
Re: Netflix's Resident Evil Series Has Been Officially Confirmed, First Details Released
@TheFrenchiestFry It is but it's hard to be optimistic when the creators have no involvement yet again.
At the very least, it should be better than the film but I don't expect anything beyond the mediocre.

@SpaceboyScreams It apparently is canon.
Tartakovsky and one of his writers involved on the story and they have been supervising the game's development.
Re: Review: Quarth (3DS eShop / GB)
"You control one of six ships — the choice is yours — but it's really just a glorified cursor; the only difference between them is aesthetic."
Not entirely true. The first three ships play different music tracks during gameplay from the last three.
The first set of ships plays original music tracks while the second set plays Game Boy renditions of the original arcade music.
Re: Phil Spencer Shuts Down Idea Of Xbox Game Pass Coming To Other Platforms
@Heavyarms55 Well, the cooperation that Microsoft and Nintendo has had made this idea more believable for Switch at least.

However, those guys' scores are probably more legitimate than Billy's.
Re: Billy Mitchell's Donkey Kong And Pac-Man Scores Are Reinstated By Guinness World Records
@Gridatttack Exactly. The footage of his high scores he filmed himself were done on MAME.
Let's not forget that former T.G. record holder and referee, Todd Rodgers, was also a total liar that Billy still defends.
This all makes me think that Guinness World Records just caved in on his legal threats because he just wouldn't let this go.
