Well, S.S.B.U is now ultimate in more ways than one.

Namco hasn't been giving the Pac-Man series the care it deserves. We only get a new Pac-Man game every couple of years and the ones we get are usually are cheap mobile games.

Those "surprises" they plan on announcing next year better be something more substantial than "Pac-Man Tile Match 3 for IOS/Android".

I can't wait for the inevitable Tabuu costume.

The N.A. version is iconic but I'm going to have to give my vote to the Japanese version for the fairly accurate and vibrant depiction of the Mario universe.

Although I do like the "framed" look of the Japanese artwork in the European version for the emphasis on Mario while also looking neat and uniform. A part me wonders if I should have voted for that instead.

A Pikachu origin story? I never even thought about his life before the series started even though he's a front and center character. He's been in his second evolution form for so long that I forgot that he came from a Pichu.

Wait, what about almost every Nintendo character ever after Galeem annihilated them in Ultimate?

No mention of the ghosts from Chibi-Robo Clean Sweep? Alright, since that game was only released in Japan, I'll give them pass.

I heard discussions about North Korean video games before and the one I remember most is...this game where you have to fight back against invading Americans.

@KitsuneNight You're right, I'm not sure where I got that impression that the 2600 was still the best selling console of all time. I must have misread an article or something.

I feel kinda bad for the Wii as it was kind of an underdog of its generation but this is still impressive for Sony.

The ultimate feat, however, would be to surpass the Atari 2600 but I'm not sure I'll ever live to see that.

Post-Edit: I should have said the Playstation 2, I either had some bad recall or flawed information when I said the 2600 was the best selling console.

This whole thing kinda reminds of the '90s when any first-person shooter was called a "Doom clone".

The American box art is a little generic and the European version obscures much of the art so Japan takes the gold once again.

@Sunanootoko So the infection causes a host's pulse and breathing to halt as the respiratory system and cardiovascular system are no longer necessary for the mutated host to survive.

Combine this with the fact that their skin has been deprived of sustenance, it can lead many people to declare an infected individual dead prematurely and bury them.

In reference to that scene in Code Veronica, some people became infected and were declared dead after the bombing raid on the island. There was a storm going on in that scene and the rain along with the sound of footsteps probably provoked them while also making the ground easier to dig out of.

@Sunanootoko The cells in an organism still persist for some time even after major bodily systems shut down such as the respiratory system. The T-virus can't reanimate dead tissue but it can mutate living tissue.

In the case of someone who undergoes brain death, the virus still has a chance of mutating everything else that wasn't damaged.

So I know this is some really nerdy material and there probably isn't anybody that cares but I just felt like pointing this out.

The zombies in Resident Evil aren't actually dead from what I understand. The T-virus disables high-level cognitive function in the brain while also causing massive amounts of the hormone that controls hunger to be dispensed. The only part of them that is dead is the skin as the disease causes nutrients to be directed away from it, instilling epidermal necrosis within those who are infected.

I guess their appearance in S.S.B.U. has revitalized interest in the series.

It's kinda odd that Nintendo is doing more for the Banjo-Kazooie franchise when they don't even have rights over them anymore.

Doom (2016), at times, gave me a Metroid Prime vibe. Now that we have freezing weapons in Doom Eternal, I going to be thinking of how they would look in Prime 4, another game people were hyped for that got delayed.

I enjoy watching a 5-7 minute Sonic short whenever a new game is out. What I don't enjoy are Sonic games that last just as long like...Forces.

Anyway, it's good to hear more are coming because they do a decent job of capturing the feel of the series. They may be a bit lighthearted but that's fine as long as it stands between Sonic Lost World's stupidity and Shadow the Hedgehog's grim tone.

If this is the truth, then this is a massive disappointment for me.

Chibi-Robo was one of my Nintendo franchises (I even got my dad to get the Japan-exclusive Chibi-Robo Clean Sweep when he visited for example) and to hear that the original developer will probably no longer be associated with them hurts.

I thought that this article was announcing a port for the unofficial sequel to Punch out, Power Punch II.

I like action games that throw Tetris into the mix. Quarth is a great example of this.

Sounds fine to me. As a fan of anime, it gets really old for me to see so much emphasis being placed on such "controversial elements".

This game takes itself so seriously while the gameplay just drags on with the same objectives, killing any tension by the end.

Pick up the Doom games instead. At least those games are self-aware about the ridiculous nature of surviving the forces of Hell.

This must be a bit of a nightmare for Mario R.P.G. fans. With "Paper Mario" ruined as a series, "Mario & Luigi" was all we had left.

The European version doesn't have artwork cluttered with text. I think I'll go with that one.

I was looking up Pac-Man games on the Google Play store earlier this morning and I saw that Namco had slapped a $5 price tag on their Ms. Pac-Man port.

She hasn't been getting the respect that her legacy deserves.

It's about time.

I'm definitely interested. How many games out there are themed liked this?
