I'm definitely interested. How many games out there are themed liked this?

Like I said earlier, I think this counts more of an anniversary than a birthday but either way props to Nintendo for 130 years of weird, enjoyable products.

Wouldn't it be more of an anniversary than a birthday? I guess that Nintendo is so cherished and unique we kinda think of it as a person.

A Splatterhouse comeback would be great...as long as it doesn't end up the like the first time they try to reboot it.

This game is beyond Contra III tier, making it the best shooter I've played in the past decade.

It also comes very close to overtaking C The Contra Adventure as the best game in the Contra series. This installment has convinced me that the franchise has a bright future ahead just like Konami's Metal Gear games.

So that's their angle. Microsoft wanted us Nintendo fans to get hooked on the first Ori so they can tempt us away from our Switches to play its sequel.

It's interesting that he phrases it as "this franchise". Perhaps we'll see more of Starlink in the future.

Nitrome? That name looks familiar. I feel like they had made some flash games in the past or something of that sort.

Some of us came to terms with Nintendo using "Special" editions of N.E.S. games as filler but I can't imagine anybody that would let two Special editions of the same game off the hook.

Come on Nintendo, pick up your game by giving us games.

@Silly_G It's kinda preference thing. Some people feel it is cheap to reuse the same bosses in later levels and that it also takes away the tension their presence initially had.

Personally, I think the bosses in Doom (2016) were a bit standard but still fun.

Isn't a "rocker" character a bit too cliche?

Japan's cover art was the most faithful and dedicated art style to go along with the game.

I'll probably the U.S. version as second for its grittier appearance with the European version being third by default.

My Wii Remote ended up getting "locked" in a sense. It just kept flashing one L.E.D. at a time in a left-to-right pattern and it wouldn't do anything else.

I went with the European version although the U.S. version does a better job of depicting the actual game with the infected hordes and the implied action based tone.

@Angelic_Lapras_King I checked up on it and development dates back as early as 2013.

I was enjoying the game and, even though personal interests are often at odds with companies, I wanted a bit more than what was provided. It kinda feels like the game and its players were abandoned and I still feel like something could have been done to salvage it but I'm not in their shoes. At least we got that Crimson Moon update.

@frabbit They were aware of the dying market before its release and pulled out as soon as the sales figures came in.

If they had the conviction to stay behind the game, maybe something could come out of it. But nope, their idea was to release a new I.P. and just hope that the lack of T.T.L. competition would mean their game could succeed.

What kind of sense does it make to venture into a declining market and jump ship when the expected happens?

The animation seems jerky and stiff.

I hate to sound harsh but I feel they should put more effort into this teaser if they are pitching this for an official release, especially since SEGA was partially responsible for the Archie series getting axed.

Edit: Maybe I spoke too soon. They did acknowledge on their Patreon page that the teaser was rather poor in quality and promised much more. I'm still fairly skeptical but I guess we shouldn't just collectively dismiss it without thinking about how things on going on their end.

I'm more interested in the Version 4.0 update than the Hero discussion.

I hope we get another mode or at least some improvements to Shared Content and its related creation modes.

Honestly a tough choice. The U.S. and Europe got red Ridley with that amazing expression on his face while Japan got the one that presented a lot more of the detail and dynamic action.

I'll have to choose Japan's by a small margin.

The Unmaker in this game is probably the most underrated weapon in gaming. It is about B.F.G. tier in terms of fun.

This may be a dumb question but doesn't Doom 3 include both Ultimate Doom and Doom 2?

@Severian Seeing the Unmaker on Switch would be great. I hope I'll see it again in Doom Eternal.

I must have had Star Wars on my mind for some reason.

The Direct wasn't bad but just like the last few E3 Directs, it hasn't absolutely wowed me.

The soundtrack in Revenge Of Shinobi, "Terrible Beat", is amazingly ironic in the sense that it is one of the best boss themes in video game history.

If we got another Shinobi game like The Return Of The Ninja Master with Koshiro on board I would almost be crazy enough to pay double what it's worth.
