That's great news. Now, if we could only get a new Banjo Kazooie game. The amount of far lesser popular franchises that have got to make a comeback with new games over the past decade while Banjo Kazooie continues to get nothing is very disappointing.
Very disappointed this isn't coming to consoles especially with the amount of characters that are in the game 'cause I would love to be able to play as Cream, Rogue, Blaze, Charmy Bee, Espio, Vector, Silver etc and have wanted them to release a game with a big character selection like this 'cause Sonic has so many characters we don't often get the chance to play as.
'Hello Kitty Island Adventure' is coming to consoles next year though so hopefully this will too.
We might get this. It is a shame they don't release the other 'Horizon' games on Nintendo Switch or X Box Series X 'cause I would like to play them but I am not buying a third game console just to play 1 or 2 games especially with the price of Playstation 5 here in Australia.
@ChromaticDracula I loved 'Immortals Fenyx Rising' and find it to be more like 'Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' and 'Tears of the Kingdom' than their other games.
It serves them right for what they done to Rayman. Without Rayman there would be no Ubisoft but Ubisoft got too big for its own boots and turned its back on the character that made them famous and their long term fans that have been wanting a new Rayman game. Nintendo said last year they are constantly getting mail from fans asking when they are going to make a new Rayman game and they have had to tell them they would love to make a new Rayman game but they don't own the rights to make one.
If they are not going to make a new Rayman they should sell Rayman to Nintendo who wants to do it and will give Rayman the respect it deserves. Same with Rare with Banjo Kazooie which would have gotten multiple sequels like Kirby if it had been under Nintendo.
@Sonicka Yeah. That would explain it. As a fan of Platformer games especially 3D ones I was looking forward to playing it and we get some Indie 3D Platformer games released here like 'Yooka Laylee', 'Ary and the Secret of Seasons', 'New Super Lucky's Tale', 'A Hat In Time', 'Clive N Wrench' and ''Koa And The Five Pirates of Mara' so I just assumed we would get this one especially since it was made by the same developers of 'Sonic Mania' which was a popular game.
@Poco_Lypso I have been playing 'Star Wars: Outlaws' on X Box Series X and don't think it is that bad but it is not as good as good as the 'Star Wars Jedi' games and I can't wait for the third game in that series. The two 'Star Wars: Jedi' games are by far my favorite Star Wars games and Cal Kestis, BD-1, Merrin and Greez are some of my fav Star Wars characters.
I was looking forward to getting this game but for some unknown reason they didn't release it here in Australia. We get most video games here that are released on Nintendo, X Box and Playstation consoles so I am not sure why this one wasn't released in stores here. It is pretty disappointing and reminds me of when we couldn't get 'Kirby's Dream Collection' on Nintendo Wii.
Star Wars Outlaws Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Kirby and the Forgotten Land Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (love playing as Zelda, Mipha and Revali) Sonic Unleashed Poke Park
@kevinm360 There have been rumours they are working on a 3D remake of Gold/ Silver/ Crystal similar to 'Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee' and I can see it happening with the other games that have been getting re-remade and would love to be able to explore the Johto region again but in 3D this time.
@PikminMarioKirby I would love to see 'Sonic Heroes' get remastered too or at least released on the Nintendo eShop or X Box Marketplace and I find it disappointing how 'Sonic 3D Blast', 'Sonic Adventure 1 and 2', 'Sonic Unleashed', 'Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), 'Sonic Colours' and soon, 'Sonic Generations' have all been released or made available on newer consoles while 'Sonic Heroes' has been forgotten about by Sega when it was one of the best 3D Sonic games and a lot of Sonic fans I know loved it and would like it to get re-released.
I think they should bring out a 3D Collection like Nintendo did with 'Super Mario 3D All Stars' with 'Sonic Adventure 1 and 2', 'Sonic Heroes', 'Sonic Unleashed' and 'Sonic 3D Blast.'
I personally think unless they change to a different format like Nintendo went from discs to cartridges with the Nintendo Wii U to Nintendo Switch all games from the previous console should always be backwards compatible.
I remember being annoyed with X Box when they made it a lot of X Box and X Box 360 games wouldn't work on the X Box One.
A little off topic but since you posted it in the pic I hope we get a 'Spyro the Dragon 4' or another collection of the older 'Spyro' video games. There have been rumors about a 'Spyro 4' being in development since the success of the 'Reignited' trilogy but I have seen some recent reports saying it might not happpen now 'cause the latest 'Crash Bandicoot' game didn't sell as well as they were hoping it would and I think that is unfair 'cause there are a lot of 'Spyro' fans that don't buy 'Crash Bandicoot' games and it would be like Nintendo saying they weren't going to make another 'Metroid' or 'Animal Crossing' game 'cause one of the 'Kirby' games wasn't successful. Spyro deserves a fourth game but there seems to be a few popular franchises like Spyro the Dragon, Donkey Kong, Rayman, Banjo Kazooie and Wario Land/ World that have mostly been left in limbo at the moment despite many fans wanting new games.
It is a sad time for us fans of 2D and 3D Platform games.
Honestly, unless we are getting some big games to go with it like a new Mario 3D game, 2D or 3D Donkey Kong, new Pokemon game, Hyrule Warriors 3 or another Kirby 3D game I won't be purchasing a Nintendo Switch 2 anytime soon just so I can say we have one. It costs enough to keep up with a lot of newer games having to buy the latest X Boxes and Playstations too which are ridiculously overpriced nowadays compared to consoles of the past to have to fork out more for a Switch 2 too.
I was also pretty disappointed over Switch not having a new Donkey Kong Country or 3D game when most previous Nintendo consoles always had one. A Donkey Kong County Returns 3 could have been fun but instead we just get re-releases of Tropical Freeze and now New Donkey Kong Country Returns. 😯
1) Super Mario Sunshine
2) Luigi's Mansion
3) Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
4) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
5) Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds

18) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
19) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
20) Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
I would love to see 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds', 'Sonic Heroes' and 'The Simpsons: Hit & Run' on modern consoles.
Immortials: Fenyx Rising (Love this game and am disappointed we aren't getting a sequel but I liked 'Asterigos Curse of the Stars' which was similar and there is another new game coming out next year called ‘Eternal Strands’ that looks very similar to both of them too) Star Wars Jedi Survivor (Can't wait for the third game!!) Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door New Pokemon Snap
That is wonderful news!! 😀 I hope we get some game footage and pictures or at the very least some new information about 'Pokemon Legends Z-A' and some new Pokemon and the announcement of the rumoured 3D remake of 'Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal' so we can play the Johto region in 3D.
A 'Pokemon Snap 3', 'Poke Park 3' or just 'Poke Park 1 and 2' coming to Switch would be good too 'cause they are so cute!! 'New Pokemon Snap' was my favourite Pokemon game on the Switch and as somebody who loved the original game I am hoping we don't have to wait as long for another sequel this time.
@Bratwurst35 I don't mind Shadow but I will be annoyed if we only get Shadow in 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3' and not Amy 'cause Amy deserves to be in the movies too.
@Ryu_Niiyama Yeah. It looks like it is going to be a fun game and I can't wait to play it. Zelda's new abilities should be fun to use and I like how you can summon monsters to fight for you, use bind and bond to move objects, climb walls and even fly and make smoothies. 😄 I'm still hoping we get a third Hyrule Warriors game too 'cause I loved 'Age of Calamity' and I actually enjoyed the fighting style in that more than 'Breath of the Wild' and 'Tears of the Kingdom' 'cause it was so much easier to fight monsters including the hard ones like Lynels which I always try to avoid in 'Breath of the Wild' and 'Tears of the Kingdom.' I would love to fight the Gloom Hands and Gleeoks from 'Tears of the Kingdom' in a 'Hyrule Warriors' game and kick their scary butts. 😅
@Swifthom No. Not the fan remake. They re-released 'Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)' on the X Box Marketplace around a decade ago and had it on there with 'Sonic Adventure 1 and 2', 'Sonic Unleashed', 'Sonic Generations' and others but they never put 'Sonic Heroes' on there or re-released it which was disappointing.
There were rumours earlier this year Sega is considering a remake of 'Sonic Heroes' which you can read below but they haven't been officially confirmed. Fingers crossed we finally get it!! 😀
We're currently in a bit of a golden age of Sonic the Hedgehog at the moment, with well-received titles such as Frontiers and the excitement surrounding the upcoming release of Sonic x Shadow: Generations. That's mainly thanks to Sega diving into the blue blur's previous adventures and updating them for modern consoles, and the publisher is showing no signs of stopping any time soon.
Earlier today, it was claimed by an insider called Zippo that Sega plans on switching many of its existing franchises to Unreal Engine 5, with titles such as the upcoming Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio remakes set to reap the benefits. This has led many to the realization that Sonic the Hedgehog games may also be switching to Unreal Engine 5, with Nintendo Universe claiming a remake of Sonic Heroes will be one such title.
Those of you who keep up with the industry will know that Zippo has a less than favorable reputation for accurate leaks, but the chances of a Sonic Heroes remake actually being in development grew exponentially after insider Midori added her two cents, an insider who has accurately leaked the announcements of several Persona titles and the recently leaked Sonic mobile game.
According to Midori, the information about Sonic Heroes getting a remake is correct, but there are no plans for remakes of the Sonic Adventure games at present. When asked why Sega is keen on using Unreal Engine 5 instead of its own engines that it's built over the years, Midori explains that Sega plans on using these Uneal Engine 5 remakes to help their developers gain experience with other engines, which implies that Sega doesn't plan on switching entirely.
Unfortunately, none of these sources managed to pin down a potential release date for the Sonic Heroes remake, but we can safely assume it won't release this year. Sonic x Shadow Generations is the next remaster/remake that Sega is cooking at the moment, and we don't even have a release date for that just yet, with only a release window of Autumn 2024 to jot in our calenders. It feels unlikely that Sega will release two remasters in such close proximity, so chances are we'll be waiting until 2025 or 2026 at the latest.
I wish we could get sequels to Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Rayman Legends. I thought those games would have been trilogies following on from New Donkey Kong Country Returns and Rayman Origins but sadly it has been something like a decade since they came out.

I know they add that to make some games feel more realistic but it takes away the fun of exploring underwater when you constantly have to come up for air. 😄
@Solomon_Rambling I don't think they are putting the mainline games on Switch 'cause they are planning on making more 3D remakes of them in the near future like they done with "Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee' and 'Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.' I am hoping we get 3D remakes of Gold/Silver/Crystal and Ruby/Sapphire so we can explore the Johto and Hoenn regions in 3D.
@Uncle_Franklin Yeah. I would like to see those things too. One of the things I liked the most about 'Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity' was getting to see parts of Hyrule before they were destroyed by Calamity Ganon and his monsters and it would be nice to have a Hyrule like that to explore in an open world game.
As for underwater exploration, I remember reading there were originally going to be underwater areas to explore in 'Breath of the Wild' along with two Divine Beasts that were underwater but they didn't make the final game. Because of that I thought they would have had underwater areas in 'Tears of the Kingdom' for sure and was disappointed we got the Depths instead.
Can't wait!! I lost count of how many times I was bullied by sexist turds in the online gaming community over the years for wanting a Zelda game or more games where Zelda is a playable character and I am excited Zelda is getting a game of her own.
