Developer Psyonix has revealed some of the content coming to Rocket League this summer, and there are plenty of new extras being patched in for free in the weeks to come. This month, Rocket League on Switch will play host to a new arena, extra music courtesy of ‘Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 3’ and plenty of rewards no we're on the other side of Competitive Season Seven.
May also sees the beginning of Competitive Season Eight, so if you're one of those wizards that scores acrobatic goals like some mechanical Messi, then you'll be pleased as punch to leap back into the ranked league of Rocket League.
There's plenty more coming to the game over the rest of the summer months, so be sure to check back with Nintendo Life for all your RL news. Are you still playing Rocket League? What do you make of all the new content coming to the game? Share your thoughts below...

Rocket league is a MUST HAVE for the switch.
Says it all that I've played more of this than I have Breath of the Wild. Love it and can't wait for more.
They're changing around the rewards system aswell by the look of things on their summer updates. They're getting rid of random drops and making them drop as you rank up instead, with better rewards the higher you go.
Also, it's double chances on drops and double paint chances on the drops on crate and non crate items. I've been playing most of this morning and I'm yet to see a painted non crate item though.
Honestly, Rocket League is fun and all, but the online play doesn't appe to me. I only ever play it when I'm playing locally with a buddy.
"and plenty of rewards no we're on the other side of Competitive Season Seven."
What?
Cross-play parties should be a priority, why is it taking them so long? I have two mates on PC and we've all stopped playing because we're so bored of playing against the A.I and people dropping out of ranked matches is far too common as well as coming up against a team of mates who just destroy you. Seriously, would it really be that hard to apply the passcode system they have in private matches to the party system?
More Rocket League! ! Always greatly appreciated.
Ugh, and the file size grows and grows. I wish third parties would optimize file sizes on updates.
@thesilverbrick Agreed! This game quickly ballooned out to be a storage killer.
Love this game still but it really annoys me when people quit a game as soon as they go 2 goals down. Takes the fun out of winning and gives you no chance of a spectacular comeback if you're teammates abandon you.
I CANNOT stop playing this! Love it
@EasyDaRon what lag problem? It’s working fine for me. Have you played around with your router?
Best way to kill time
@beazlen1 Agreed
@Old-Red They announced its coming in a patch in July/August actually. They announced it alongside the stuff in the above article. Dom just didn't include it.
@IceClimbers
Thanks for letting me know.
GOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!.............. it's a Win Win situation for us gaming nerds Lol.
@RedYoshi999 How much storage would you say the game takes up including the added updates?
@wazlon The game initially took up 3.4GB, it's now more than doubled to 7.4GB and grows with every update.
@RedYoshi999 Ouch, that's a lot of space but from what people are saying the game seems worth it.
@wazlon Yeah don't get me wrong it's worth it. Just by the time the switch is a few years old I bet this will be the only game I can fit on my internal storage.
