Rumours come, and rumours go, but some are just a little bit meatier than your average lump of hearsay and warrant a little more attention and analysis. The idea that Nintendo would produce another Star Fox game so soon after the lukewarm reaction to Star Fox Zero does seem a little odd, but there's more to this idea that initially meets the eye.
For one thing, one of the many endings in Star Fox Command points to just such a situation for our anthropomorphic chums, and it also wouldn't be the first time Fox McCloud appeared in a game bearing the name of Star Fox, but of a totally different genre. Yes, we're talking about Star Fox Adventures. We natter on about this more in the video above, so let us know what you think of this whole shebang in the comments below.

@AlexOlney Why are you talking about this "leak" instead of the new pokemon "leaks"?! We all know nintedo doesn't care about Starfox!
Haha, just kidding. Good stuff
Sure, bring it on!
Anything will be better than Star Fox Zero.
I’m intrigued, but aprehensive. On one hand it may be a great game - a combination of high-speed races in a wide variety of environments, throw in some laser cannons, perhaps an online mode - but then again, just how much weight does the Star Fox brand carry nowadays? Not much, if recent efforts are to go by.
That said, I’m still liking what I’m hearing. If Retro can pull off a futuristic racer within the Star Fox universe then more power to them. I’m not holding my breath though.
these "images" are not very convinced of being legit to me.
but, i do like the sound of a Star Fox Racing game. so i'm in and like to see more. (if this is even true).
... killer t-shirt @AlexOlney.
I will be excited if true. Switch definitely needs more racing games. I remember renting Star Fox for the snes as a kid and didn't like it at all. We plowed thru it one weekend and I think we beat it but have never been a huge fan of the franchise. If this is true, and it's good I wouldn't have any problems with it.
@TearyIsaac StarFox Space Beat.
@gauthieryannick The same way we have DK, Mario and Kirby as platformers. Every single one fills a little gap in the genre.
@Iggy-Koopa Hey, with the right aesthetics it can be popular. I mean, just look what an aesthetic change did for Fire Emblem.
@Devlind so it's going to have scantily clad prepubescent, yet surprisingly busty anthropomorphic animals? Terrifying.
@Alikan Not exactly what I had in mind, but maybe.
Yes
No
Is it a crop top?
F zero can’t be a dead franchise it’s amazing especially GX I would love to see a new version on the switch I would also love to see a new star fox or an upgraded version of star fox zero with traditional controls added but I would buy star fox gp day one
I hope it is not true because I want Retro to make many more DKC games
As long as we are getting some form of F-ZERO... But I want to see animal versions of the characters. Captain Falcon IS a falcon. Samurai Gamorah is a giant pig. Some of the characters are already aliens. G-ZERO FTW!!!!
@gauthieryannick Seeing as F-Zero has already been mentioned in an official Star Fox game, the combination of the two isn't as strange as it may sound at first.
But having said that: personally, I hope Retro is working on something else, that's REALLY mind blowing, and in a good way...
@CptProtonX The Nintendo Cycle of Anger? Never heard of it. Fanboy anger, yes. That and the Nintendo Difference...
But all joking aside, this is no more strange than the Metroid Prime Federation Force or Mario + Rabbids situation, and in the case of the latter, actually quite similar, so if a picture or any other tangible bit of news is revealed anywhere in the next two and a half weeks, then chances are that this is actually VERY real, regardless of what many of us think of it right now...
If star fox racing is anything like these I'l be happy
Red bull air race

Drone racing league

I loved dk64 and still hope for a sequel with a beautiful hub-world and improved mechanics. I also have faith in wathever project retro is Involved. Even though star fox wouldn’t be my first choice, I will judge it after I get more information.
I'd be in favor of this as long as it didn't try to be another plot-less Star Fox 64 clone. CONTINUE the story of 64/Adventures/Assault Nintendo.
As odd as it sounds, this actually sounds pretty cool to me. Races with Star Fox controls with boss battles and a hub/overworld? Sign me up. Not expecting it to be real, but I'm totally down if it's real.
@Dizzy_Boy That Red Bull Air Race video made me think of SkyDrift, which although old, would also be a nice addition to the Switch'es library.

I'd much rather have a fusion Star Fox game that was half RPG half flying shooter. Could be you have to go from planet to planet (for whatever reason) have to do puzzles and "temples" like adventures, but at the end of each planet you have to get into your F-wing and fly through the last bit and defeat a boss. Also you would use Falco as well as fox and slippy would be dead.
I've always wanted a vamped up version of a starfox online experience, where maybe we could have 2 teams of 4, make or model your ship, have it where you could have a clan logo or image across your ship etc. Now i hear about another diddy kong racing / f zero but for starfox rumor ? Very interesting to say the least ~
I would honestly just re-buy Fzero GX if they put it on HD
@NintendoFan4Lyf
That's what I was thinking. When we first heard rumors about Mario+Rabbids it seemed too outlandish to be true. But like you said it turned out to be true, and a great game. Maybe this will become reality too. I'm definitely intrigued by it.
@gauthieryannick, what I was going to say. And we haven't had an F Zero in quite a while either. Much rather see the hyper fast format of those games be resurrected before Star Fox is returned to in any genre.
If it is true (which I hope it is), then it is probably a collaboration with F-zero and Star fox.
A whole article about this? Are you serious?
Starfox + F Zero x Diddy Kong Racing? Count me in.
an epic starfox game or fzero would be more then welcome in this (my opinion) nintendonswitch drought.
better, a whole new openworld nintendo adventure game, where nintendo caracters are finaly cured from tone def.
let them have a voice.
Star Fox Zero had one problem - controls. Play with a friend and it's excellent.
@ThanosReXXX I loved me some SkyDrift. Man. Need to reinstall that.
As long as Krystal is in it, and I can play as her, I'll be perfectly fine with it.
@PhilKenSebben Yeah, it's a nice little game. Still got it installed on the PC...
It could be a great game in the right hands and Retro's track record is good so far.
It sounds like it could be a bit like Sonic Racing Transformed. Speaking of which, aren't we supposed to be getting a new Sonic Racing too?
I think I'm in the small group that really enjoyed Star Fox Zero, and I'm a big fan of the classic games in the series.
Anyways, I would love a Star Fox racing game. Especially if we get to play as the characters we all know.
@NintendoFan4Lyf I absolutely agree. In theory, almost any type of game can work if executed with passion and airtight gameplay. Turn-based Mario and squids playing paintball certainly speak to this. A space combat focused racing game with a robust single player campaign (like the DS version of MK) could be a surprise gem.
It could work, but since Nintendo has a good racer already with MK8D, i’d prefer if this was just a mini game or something in a normal Star Fox adventure. Just like how the casino games in Mario 64 DS weren’t the main game but I still put hours into them, or Gwent in Witcher 3. I just don’t want this to be the whole thing. Give me a fun space opera Star Fox game!
