Re: Editorial: Game Localisation Isn't Just About Preserving The 'Pure' Original

DinklingBoy

It's a tricky subject, and its always hard to find a happy balance. Each game is different so it all depends on the individual game and the audience its for. Most times people don't know because news outlets don't mention them. But when they do, such as changes in Fatal Frame/Project Zero, Xenablade X and Fire Emblem Fates, that is when people make a fuss.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Tackles the Native Resolution and Framerate in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

DinklingBoy

I'd be lying if I didn't wish this game was at 60fps. HD is fantastic but a smooth awesome frame rate of Twilight Princess would have been my ultimate dream. 30fps is fine but after playing several 60fps games, its a bit disappointing going back to 30fps. Im not a framerate nerd or anything but it is something everyone will notice at one point in there gaming lives.

Re: Video: See How Super Mario Maker's Slow Motion Glitch Works its Magic

DinklingBoy

Not so much a slow motion glitch, but more a frame-rate issue. Like any game that has too much going on in one part of the game, the frame-rate drops. I've seen this happen quite a lot in the game, especially when there's lot of enemies. I'll give it to NintendoLife though for trying to make seem like a glitch - Frame-rate problem.

Re: Feature: Why We're Still Playing... Bayonetta 1 & 2

DinklingBoy

Bayonetta is bad-ass! Just completed Bayonetta and it was AWESOME!!! Nintendo need to purchase Bayonetta as a series as it works really well with Nintendo IP as something a little more mature and because its fun as hell. I say; bring on Bayonetta III for NX.

Re: Video: Hyrule Warriors Legends Footage Shows a Stark Difference in Old and New 3DS Performance

So new 3DS players will get the game with a decent frame-rate and be able to play the game in 3D. 2DS & 3DS owners will have a bad frame-rate and will have to play the game in 2D (as previously stated weeks ago). With this in mind, I don't see any point the game being release for anything, other that new 3DS'. Of course its business, and a lot of gamers are likely to buy this game, most properly on older 3DS' and 2DS', and most will be disappointed with it.

Re: Analysis: Assessing Why NX Needs to Take Over From Both the Wii U and 3DS

DinklingBoy

NX (if a home console) will not be as powerful as PS4 or Xbox One but I do think it will be a similar par to the capabilities as the two other consoles, be it, a little worse. But there is nothing wrong with this. Also think NX won't be released until 2017 at the earliest. But I do think NX, Wii U & 3DS will all exist in the same timeframe for a year or two.

Re: Video: Three Minute Showcase Demonstrates Action and Looting in Wii U Exclusive Lost Reavers

DinklingBoy

I still prefer the name Project Treasure. From what I saw in the trailer, the game did look a bit off at times and frame rates did drop quite a lot. This is a free-to-play game (at least in the beginning) so I can't knock it down too much. Looks like it could be fun though; I wonder if this will be an 18+ game, then perhaps voice chat might be included. But then again Devils Third doesn't have voice chat even though that is an 18+/M game.

Re: Editorial: It's Not Fun to Criticise Nintendo Games, But It's Been Unavoidable in 2015

DinklingBoy

I'm confused? If a game is good, it will get good ratings; if a game is average, it will get an average rating. And if a game is poor, then it will get a poor rating. If Tom gives a poor game a poor rating, it means the game is poor. If Nintendo releases a lot of poor games, they will get poor ratings. It would be odd if a 'mostly panned' game released by Nintendo got a positive review by one NintendoLife reviewer. 2015 has been a good year for Nintendo games; its just October & November 2015 that hasn't been so good, that's all.

Re: Review: Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (Wii U)

DinklingBoy

It's quality, not quantity. Having said that if this game is lacking in features then its a game that would likely be played for a few minutes. The visuals look great, but it does seem this game was rushed for Holiday 2015. Its very passive fun, and ultimately too much (right now). Nintendo games are in a weird place at the moment and it seems they are going to continue on a weird mix of good and not so good.

Re: EA CFO Explains Why the Company Doesn't Make Wii U Games Anymore

DinklingBoy

Dumb excuse if you ask me. EA is a video game company, so not releasing your game to a video game console does not really make much sense. Their is 10+ million Wii U users, so EA's loosing a potential 10 million sales (potentially that is). If I had a game, I would want as many people to have the opportunity to play it as possible.

Having said that what games has EA released recently? FIFA, Battlefield Hardline, Sims 4, Need For Speed, Titinfall and Battlefront. Most of these games are lacklustre anyways or console specific. The games that EA has released on Wii U have all been great releases; its a shame that Need for Speed, Battlefront, and upcoming Unravel are not on Wii U.

Re: Gold Mega Man amiibo Will Not Be Coming to Europe

DinklingBoy

Smart move really. These gold and silver editions are just ways to get more money off fans. Its the same amiibo but its gold. American's will be happy to through their dollars at this, but Europeans know better. Gold/Silver Mario amiibo hasn't been officially released in EU so this news is no surprise.

Re: Feature: Reflecting On Three Years With The Wii U - Part One

DinklingBoy

Wii U is a great console. Gamepad is great and the games are great; the only issue is that it is an outdated console. Wii U is more a competitor with PS3 and Xbox 360 and not PS4 and Xbox One. Wii's cycle lasted 6 years and Wii U is already half way through the same cycle. I feel the Wii U has at least two more years before NX is even released. Nintendo started talking about Wii U a year and a half before it was released and I feel they will likely do a similar job with NX. NX is extremely unlikely to be released in 2016.

Nintendo did a decent job with their first HD console, hopefully they learn to be up-to-date with the NX game structure so that third parties can easily import their games to the console. But still have something unique and individual that makes it Nintendo.

Re: Poll: Did The Nintendo Direct Comeback Fire on All Cylinders?

DinklingBoy

Watched all 3 Directs eventually - watched the European one live as that is where I live. Love the formula of the Directs, simple, less-is-more, to-the-point approach works. Of course, Nintendo America always like to do their own thing with really childish/cheesy skits and slightly, overly, gentle speaking (which I notice Bill does a lot). All presenters did a good job for their region Direct. European's Ed seemed cool too. I see him as the 'Bill' of Europe; you go Ed! I may be a little bias, but the European Direct always seems the best one of the bunch. Shibata does a great job. Hopefully the next Direct presentation is in a few months time (minus the Special Smash one in December).

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 12th November

DinklingBoy

Great to see the Directs back. I just hope that Nintendo continue to do them every few months. I hope they don't change the format too much in the future. I like the simplicity of the European/Japan Directs and America likes to do its own thing, which is fine. Have special Directs like the Smash Bros. one coming in December, but I hope these Directs stay how they are, a 'less is more', to the point style.
