Re: Downloading WWE 2K18 Requires 32GB Of MicroSD Storage Space

DickeyWord

@Ervex_109
I need to ask a question that I am not sure of the answer so hopefully you or someone else can help me. Games that you download to your Switch I hear people keep sayin that when the servers are no longer available (usually if the game is old ) that you no longer have access to the game. I always assumed it was the online features which would make sense, but this doesn't include the whole game or the single player modes correct ? It has to be that way cause why would anyone in there right mind by any game digital if in a few years the game they paid for is completely gone if there was a physical version available. Sorry if this is a stupid question I'm an old school gamer from the NES days where you just bought a game, put it in your system,pressed power and had fun. Still getting used to downloadable games and day 1 patches way that the game industry has obviously moved too.

Re: ARMS Version 3.2 Trailer Shows Off 'Badge Stash' Achievements and Mysterious New Character

DickeyWord

@thesilverbrick I completely agree with you. IMO Arms is THE most underrated game on the Switch. I admit I don't play it as much as I should ( there are just too many good games to play ) but I've been able to put in 75 hours plus and when I do play it's for a day or two straight cause I just get sucked in. Like a lot of other people have said I think Splatoon 2 really killed some of the momentum that Arms was starting to recieve from players. I think they need to release more content or updates more frequently than they do to keep this game in gamers heads that it still exists. One new character in almost 4 months ( i don't count Max Brass since he and his stage were in the game since day 1 and was just unlocked to play ) compared to Splatoon 2 weekly weapon updates and new stages is another reason I feel this game is getttin lost in the shuffle. Sorry for the ramble but I feel that I have to defend this game as much as I can since not a lot of other people seem to care or have gotten bored with the game. I really love Arms and want this game to be a huge success, at least the comic announced for next year shows that the game will be supported hopefully till then and a sequel will follow soon thereafter. This is a call to ARMS people let's step up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Rumour: Switch's Hidden NES Golf Game Is A Tribute To The Late Satoru Iwata

DickeyWord

That is a really awesome gesture to the man. He obviously was a major factor in designing the Switch and Nintendo is trying to say thank you in there own way. Like someone said before the fact that this was not advertised by Nintendo and was only found by some people that have way to much time on there hands shows that this is truly sincere. Thank you Satoru Iwata for helping create what is quickly becoming possibly my favorite video game console of all time.

Re: Live: Watch Nintendo's Fifth Day At Gamescom 2017

DickeyWord

I'm really looking forward to flipping death. I've never been a fan of that many indie games but this one is really speaking to me. The art style is really cool looking in my opinion and the story is looking pretty good too. Hopefully they announce a release date soon I'm pretty excited to Play this.

Re: It'll Be a Battle of Super Powers in the Next Splatoon 2 Splatfest

DickeyWord

Now this is a subject that should be split fairly even unlike the last Splatfest. I'm finding it hard to decide which one I'm going to represent cause I think every one wants to fly or be invisible, but at least I have a couple weeks to decide. If I had to pick now it would probly be invisibility but that could easily change by then. Should be a much more even sided Splatfest I think than mayo .vs. ketchup was.

Re: Here’s Your First Look at the Upcoming New ARMS Fighter

DickeyWord

It is definitely something involving candy since it's the same stage they teased the other day with candy decorations. I think it could be a clown since clowns and candy go hand and hand. And it is obviously a girl I'd be pretty surprised if it's not but either way I can't wait cause I need an excuse to stop playing Splatoon 2. The game hasn't even been out a month and I have over 70 hours in wich for me is a lot. Bring on this update soon!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Guide: A Simple Fix for a Game Breaking Bug in Troll and I on Switch

DickeyWord

Quick question slightly off topic but does mostly everybody just put their Switch in sleep mode to turn it off while not playing. I always hold down the power button for 5 sec and turn it off that way but I see that now being called a "hard reset"in a lot of places. I'm not very tech savvy but can that cause any long term damage by constantly turning off the system that way. They can't just expect you to only put in in sleep mode right ?

Re: The Splat Brella Will Stop Raindrops Falling on Your Head in Splatoon 2 This Weekend

DickeyWord

I've put in 60 hours already and I just started playing the single player mode. If I would have known the splat brella was a usable weapon I would have played a lot more. I've been really looking forward to this weapon since they first revealed it in the direct I believe. This was the first night since it's release that I wasn't planning on playing since football is back finally and my 49ers are taking the field for the first time under a new regime....but I'm just gonna have to play a little now this just looks incredibly fun and I can't wait to try it.

Re: Mayo Wins in Splatoon 2's Battle of the Condiments

DickeyWord

@Aerona
I know how you exactly how you feel. On the last match of the Splatfest at like 8:58pm I was 4 points away from champion rank so I had to win or else stay at defender. Luckily we won so I got 7 more sea snails than I would have at defender rank which is pretty big so I lucked out fortunately. Sorry that you had the other expierience but it's all in the fun of Splatfest and I can't wait till next one.

Re: Mayo Wins in Splatoon 2's Battle of the Condiments

DickeyWord

I was on team mayo and I assumed we would lose for sure. I played the first night bout a couple hours in and I got absolutely destroyed. I have the original Splatoon and played a good amount, I'm not the best player but I can definitely hold my own and finish at or around the top in most battles win or lose. I don't know what it was but I lost NINE straight games any one point NINE!!! I've never had that kind of losing streak in any of my time playing Splatoon 1 or 2, and the matches were not close most of them we were losing were like 63% to 31% or something right around there.

It sounds like some people had the same problem but reversed with team mayo destroying people on team ketchup witch I find interesting cause where the hell were all those good mayo players cause they were not on my team ever haha. I played some on Saturday afternoon and it seemed to balance out with me winning bout half my battles or a little more but I do think something was a little strange in matchmaking cause it's never felt that way in a Splatfest before. Well at least it was still great fun and the best team won......

TEAM MAYO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Splatfest everyone until next time 🀘

Re: The Smaller New Nintendo 3DS is Discontinued Globally - An Era Ends

DickeyWord

I have an original 3DS and it really cramped my hands. I never got the original XL since didn't want to upgrade just for a bigger size, but when the New 3DS XL came out I jumped on that and it's great. The screen might be a little diluted compared to the smaller model but the overall size of the XL is absolutely essential for myself to play for a decent period of time. Never understood why the XL never got the faceplates though.

Re: WWE 2K18 Looks Set to be the Real Deal on Nintendo Switch

DickeyWord

Hell yeah!!! I'm actually pretty excited bout this it seems like it has all the features as the other versions and comes out same day. Graphics and little details won't be as pretty but to have another perfect example of a Switch game to take anywhere and challenge your buddies in the bar, fishing in a boat or wherever you want I'm stoked.

Re: Max Brass is Set to Bring Extra Shine to ARMS on 12th July

DickeyWord

@HappyMaskedGuy
I really love this game much more than I ever thought I would. I've put in 40 hours or more already and still want to play more. I play online often but I have just as much fun playing against computer. It's just a new style of fighting game and it is super addictive and pretty original in my opinion. I tell other people that ask the same thing bout if it's worth it or if they like it. When it comes down to it it's just a one on one fighting game in its core for the most part. Myself personally growing up with Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat I've always had a lot of fun with fighting games but if you are only kind of into the genre and get bored in a little while then you might want to try before you buy. My personal opinion though
HELL YES!!!!!!!! Absolutely a must purchase for the Switch 🀘🀘

Re: You'll Still Be Playing As Link In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Next DLC Pack

DickeyWord

I swore that I read somewhere that the dlc was before the battle with Clamity Ganon 100 years ago not post battle. I wonder how this will work out since this is called the champions ballad dlc are the champions gonna be seen in cutscenes only again or are there spirits gonna be involved some how in the rebuilding of Hyrule. I'm looking forward to the new story and dungeon for sure but I'm not gonna lie, I was looking forward to finding out more details of the battle 100 years ago that destroyed Hyrule and killed the champions since you just know the bare facts not anything in depth from the cutscenes that were shown. That said any new Zelda BOTW content I'm totally excited for and cannot wait. 🀘🀘

Re: Former Sony And Microsoft Exec: Nintendo Has Surprised Me With Switch

DickeyWord

@The-Chosen-one
I am right there with you man. As a kid who received a Game Boy before a NES I always have loved handheld gaming. From the early 90's my dream console would have been something I can play on the tv and then take it with me wherever I go. Almost 30 years later that console has finally arrived and I have barely put my Switch down since I got it March 3rd. I absolutely love my Switch.

Re: ARMS and Nintendo Switch Keep a Grip on the Japanese Charts

DickeyWord

Arms needs to be on top of the charts.The game is sooooooo good and just a lot of pure fun. I looked last night at my play time thinking I put in around 10-15 hours tops,nope 25 or more it said 😳. I guess the time just flew by bottom line in loving this game and really hope it sells well and becomes a new staple Nintendo IP.

Re: Video: Nintendo Minute Picks Up Some Pro ARMS Tips from Mr. Yabuki

DickeyWord

This game is so much fun and has far exceeded my expectations. I've played it for 10 days straight since it's release. I'm not that good compared to some online players but I don't care I'll just play more, have more fun and get better. Mr.Yabuki holy crap is he amazing at moving and dodging attacks 😳. I would be shocked if anyone could beat that guy in Arms. I was playing half and half motion and button controls but last 4-5 days it's been all motion 🀘🀘🀘

Re: Retrospective: The Awkward Birth of the DS, Nintendo's Most Successful System

DickeyWord

I think I am the only person in existence that actually paid hard earned money for a Game.com. To this day I don't know why I bought it. I think I had 2 games for it an awful duke nukem game and some other piece of trash racing game. After I had it for like 3 months I think they stopped making games for it. I found it years later and literally just threw it away, I hope it's not worth anything today ?.......... Hahaha

Re: Feature: The Big ARMS Direct Summary and the Key Question - Did It Win You Over?

DickeyWord

@ThanosReXXX
I am by no means an expert but I did play ARMS at the Switch promo tour and it was a blast. I am not a huge fan of motion controls but it felt very smooth and was incredibly fun. That was the game we kept going back to play even with just the 5 characters and I believe only one stage. That event was back in February so I would asssume the game plays even better now so I can't wait to pick this up day 1.

Re: Review: NBA Playgrounds (Switch eShop)

DickeyWord

I do not get the timing system AT ALL. I've played 3 games and haven't scored more than 10 points on the easiest difficulty. Why the nibelsnarf do you have to time a dunk? Most basketball games you time by shooting at top of your jump but not this game you have to release somewhere in between. Pretty much just blew 20 bucks.

Re: NBA Playgrounds Is Slam Dunking The Switch eShop Next Week

DickeyWord

I'm really looking forward to this. I loved NBA Jam in the arcades and this looks like possibly the next best thing. If this is a solid game this could be as good 2 player co-op as Mario Kart. Just think back in the day if you coulda busted out NBA Jam wherever you were and challenge your friends to a game. That is a possibility with NBA Playgrounds. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is a awesome game.

Re: Preview: Battle Mode is Back On Form in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

DickeyWord

2 player co-op console quality mario kart literally anywhere you are is such a great selling pitch for the switch. I cannot wait for that experience and I know millions of people feel the same way. I really hope Nintendo is planning on a huge Switch shipment before MK8D is released beacause if not I feel there could be a lot of the fringe crowd losing interest if they simply can't get a Switch 2 months since launch. I'm lucky to already have a Switch and I want everyone who wants one to be able to get one and make this machine succeed. I am simply in love with my Switch!!!!!

Re: Nintendo Announces E3 eShop Discount Plans and Miitomo x The Legend of Zelda Promotion

DickeyWord

I read on the official press release that there is an additional Zelda "collaboration" gift will be available June 14 on the My Nintendo site and can be redeemed with platinum coins. I am hoping that this will be something actually cool like a small demo or an exclusive trailer or something like that since you are not using miitomo coins but Platinum coins, I guess we will see soon enough.

Re: Soapbox: Bayonetta Deserves to be in Super Smash Bros.

DickeyWord

@Hachiko
I thought Bayonetta was a little op at first but I find she has a lack of launching type attacks. I can get the opponent to 130% and up but can't launch them without a smash attack which is fairly slow. I'm not the best smash player so maybe it's just me, either way great addition.

Re: Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Reader Awards 2015

DickeyWord

@Splatburst
A little off topic but have you by chance used the Mario Maker Bookmark portal yet? It makes it so much easier to find good quality levels now. I used to have the same problem of having to sift through crappy courses. I love that I can use the portal on my phone at work and then have awesome levels waiting for me at home to play.

Re: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays From Nintendo Life

DickeyWord

Happy holidays everyone and here is to a great new year. With the debut of the NX, Starfox Zero, and last but not least ZELDA!!!!!!!!! we are going to have a great year of Nintendo in 2016. On a side not I just got Bayonetta 2 for Xmas and what a amazing game this is.

Re: Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Staff Awards 2015

DickeyWord

In my personal opinion Super Mario Maker just squeezes by Splatoon for overall game of the year. Mario Maker is a game I've wanted for almost 30 years. My friends and I as kids would draw up our own levels on construction paper and tape them together in a big line. Now we are in our thirties and can do it on the Wii U, ain't technology something.

Re: Video: Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka Show Off Super Mario Maker

DickeyWord

Something about Miyamoto's smile just makes you feel good inside. Ever since I was a little kid with the NES anytime you saw his face in a magazine in the 80's and early 90's promoting some new Nintendo game/idea he always had that big ear to ear grin. I always would think that must be a great game or system if he looks that excited and happy about it, and he was usually always right. In my opinion he needs to be in more Nintendo marketing campaigns.
