Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Special Edition Controller And Game Bundle Revealed

@Moonlessky It seems like the D-Pad, if you do several inputs from left to right, some times it registers up or down too. The same if you input up or down. It could affect fighting games that require fast inputs and some puzzle games too. Personally I don't play those games so I don't see this as a major problem, but I would be lying if I said that I've never noticed them in other games.

@Cobalt I'll play devil's advocate this time. Federation Force is actually a pretty good game (a terrible Metroid game, but good game overall nonetheless). It can be pretty challenging, especially if you play solo without the 1 player mod and the assist bots, and it is really fun to play with other people too and I would imagine it would be even better if you can actually talk with them. Unlike Federation Force, Let's Go strips Pokémon from a lot of things that make the game, well, Pokémon, and it doesn't seem make up for it. The only possible way I can see this game being fun is that you are a kid or play with a younger sibling or your son/daughter. Not even my girlfriend is interested in this.

Re: Near-Identical Fake Switch Pro Controllers Are Now On The Market

@Findonovan95 The problem people have with the D-pad is that sometimes you can enter a wrong input accidentally. Try moving from left to right when you test the controller in the settings and sometimes an up or down input could appear there, even if you didn't directly pressed that direction. I haven't had much trouble with it, but I would be lying if I say I haven't noticed some of those inputs.

@wonderclassic Sometimes myths hold some truth. The guy was in the business back then (and we did noy) so I would not discard his comment. Japanese are really proud and as Rogers said, they assume their responsability. For example, Iwata and other members from Nintendo cut their salaries to make up for the Wii U's failure. I would not be surprised if Yokoi's exit was (if not entirely) because of that failure.

Re: Guide: Pokémon GO IVs Explained - How IVs Work & How To Check A Pokémon's IVs

Devlind

@NotAceAttorney IV's are part of the experience. In the original games they were used to encourage the sacred trio: catch, trade and battle. It gave you the feeling that you had a special Pokémon because it is rare that two people get the very same exact IV's on normal gameplay. Once the competitive scene sprung into the mainstream territory it turned into a hassle for some, but I still value it for what it is. Besides, if you don't really want to go through all the trouble to get a perfect Pokémon, you can always play in Pokémon Showdown with a perfect team.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Will Have Extra Requirements To Take On Gyms

I'll never understand why they have to change things to accomodate other people instead of pleasing their fan base. Pokémon is an already big franchise and they have already life long fans that probably will probably teach their offsprings how to play the game and carry on the cycle. The people they want to get in with this games are casuals that can't give five damns about it and will forget it once the new big thing is out.

It just gets me mad.

10 hours in, recruited 4 characters and I'm working on Tressa's chapter 2. The boss feels artificially difficult since nothing else really gives you problem until you reach him. They really want you to recruit all 8 characters before you start any chapter 2, definitely. Kind of a let down since this game is about "creating your own journey". You can of course, if you are willing to grind for hours.

@Rayquaza2510 About that, S&M story is terrible. It isn't about you (the main character), it is about Lillie and her troubled family. You're just there like a firefigher putting off fires. Your adventure is always diverted to what Lillie needs from you. For that matter, B&W story is way better because the story is about you, you're the hero of legend destined to awaken the legendary dragon. That's way better than being a smiling bodyguard IMHO.

Re: Video: New Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Trailer Reveals Gorgeous Region Map And More

@Tsurii And that little change has a lot of side effects. To train you'll need to catch everything that comes to you, which is just troublesome. Most people will skip that, and Gamefreak knows, that's why trainers are way easier too (and if you still have a tough time, just grab the second joycon and use 2 Pokémon against them). Then, about competitive battles, how are you going to EV train effectively? or check internal values before catching? Unless trainer battles respawn (besides the elite four), there's no way that yo can do that through normal battles.

There's other stuff I can't remember at the moment, but if you start linking eveything you'll see the bigger picture.

Re: Fans Are Calling Out Nintendo And Camelot For "Lazy" Mario Tennis Aces

I decided to avoid the game after I played the demo. The mechanics to break a racket and the punishment took out all the fun of the normal mode. It was more of a race to charge your special and if your opponent got it before, you better let them score since the window to block it effectively is way too small and the punishment for trying is way to big. Simple mode is like playing Mario Kart without items. It is just not the same.
