Re: Switch eShop Pre-Load Listing Reveals File Size For Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee

@BladedKnight But what if @TheGhostWhoWalks also takes my answer as a yes? That would contradict your statement just like yours contradicts his. That could open a time-space rift and create two different realities, one in which I like troll baiting and another one where I actually want people to write something negative and I don't know if we are prepared to deal with a situation like that.

Re: Soapbox: It's Not Cool To Lock Pokémon Behind A Paywall

Devlind

Pokémon has always locked Pokémon behind a paywall since there are version exclusives. Sure, you can look for a trade, but the experience in GTS isn't exactly the best (why do they even let people ask for a Darkrai if it can't be traded legally?). I'm not mad about this practice. I only hope that Pokémon 2019 fixes all the problems of Sun/Moon and doesn't carry anything over from Let's Go.

Re: Anniversary: Super Mario Bros. 3 Turns 30 Years Old Today

This was the first game that I properly played as a little kid. My mom even told me stories about when I was a baby and how I moved in my chair just to see my dad and my older brother play the game. I remember both never managed to get past the desert level with the Sun. I barely remember the first time I beat that level, but I do remember feeling accomplished.

Re: Starlink: Battle For Atlas Switch File Size Revealed, Almost As Large As Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

@rjejr I hate to repeat myself, but as I said, things are just like how they are. Amiibo were sold as collectibles with some perks in compatible games. In the case of Smash, they were just customizable CPU players, and that's it. Nothing more and nothing less. You can keep on saying what they should have done, but in the end that changes nothing. I mean, you might as well go as far as to ask for the game for free without any playable character so you can scan amiibo to unlock them, just like how Skylanders and Disney Infinity worked.

Re: Starlink: Battle For Atlas Switch File Size Revealed, Almost As Large As Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

@rjejr You are viewing this from a consumer point of view. If they did that, then we could go as far to ask why they just didn't give away the characters for free if you already paid $60? It makes no sense from a business point of view. Both the amiibo and the character are completely different products, so you, as a consumer, should pay for both. There's no workaround for this.

Unlocking the characters every time through scanning the amiibo would be annoying. We saw this with Shadow Mewtwo in Pokken Tournament, but in that case, you can unlock it through normal gameplay. The amiibo card just let you use it before that. You already paid for the character when you bought the game. In Smash, when you buy an amiibo, you are not paying for the right to use the character, just for the figurine and the perks it has in compatible games. We could be here arguing back and forth about this, but at the end of the day, things are just like this.

Re: Starlink: Battle For Atlas Switch File Size Revealed, Almost As Large As Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

@rjejr The problem with amiibo and dlc characters in Smash is that, if you were able to get them with the amiibo, you could share it with other people so they get the character for free. You could say that they could have locked it overwriting data on it, but we know that NFC isn't really super safe. This could lead to people to dump their amiibo data and start selling amiibo tags to unlock the characters that way (or getting the data online and do it themselves). While it is a shame it was that way, I can't think of any way to prevent this from happening.

Re: Review: Child of Light: Ultimate Edition - A Painterly Action RPG Which Still Shines Four Years On

So what have we learned from this comment section, kids? People need to bend the meanings of some words just to try to make their point valid. After all, we just can't be wrong and apologize, right?

Now, about the game. I played it on the Wii U, but didn't finished it since I played it with my girlfriend (she controlled the white fairy-like creature). Maybe I'll play it on the Wii U again now that she can play it on the Switch.

Now, is this extra content from the ultimate edition available on the Wii U version? I can't recall anything about that.

Re: NES Games On Switch Playable For Up To Seven Days Without Internet Connection

Devlind

@nesrocks It is just a security measure so you don't play them if your subscription ends. Netflix doesn't allow you to keep watching the shows if you cancel the subscription, even if you have been paying them for years.

As I said, you are not buying the games. If you were buying each one from the eShop and then they don't let you play them, you would be right, but this is just a bonus for the online membership. It sucks, but I can't think of another way to prevent people for cheating the system and keep them without paying.
