Re: GTA 6 On 'Switch 2' Would Be "Very Tricky To Pull Off", Says Digital Foundry

DennisReynolds

@eltomo They know enough to have an idea on how powerful a Switch 2 will be. The Switch 2 will be weaker then the Series S why? Because a portable Series S would murder the battery life and cost a fortune and once you factor in SSD's the price shoots up even more. Look at Steam Deck and others like it they're only really around PS4 and One X levels and that's because they have to be for good battery life and so they can be sold at a reasonable price.

Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

@kalosn Arkham Knight is is one of the most graphically dense games out there and even now it holds up very well. The issue with the TW3 is its on the Red Engine an engine designed for PC and a engine that was fairly buggy but by the time TW3 was ported to Switch a lot of the issues with the engine were sorted. Unreal though doesn't like open words and Unreal doesn't like Switch hence why AK is more demanding, AK stood no chance on Switch.

Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

@Bratwurst35 Because all WB care about is money, its easier to take a chance on Batman then Green Lantern and unlike Marvel they can't fallback on a popular film character to generate hype, Batman sells and its actually quite shocking its been nearly 9 years since his last proper outing in gaming. Anyway Suicide Squad is out next year, we had Gotham Knights last year and Wonder Woman is coming at some point and none of these games have Bats as a playable character or a main character.

Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

@kalosn Arkham Knight is more demanding then TW3 and more graphically advanced hence why TW3 is starting to show its age while Arkham Knight outclasses both Suicide Squad and Gotham Knight and can hold its own against many current gem games.

Switch owners really to understand just because TW3 was ported doesn't mean every game can be, TW3 is not the "can it Crysis" game Switch owners think it is. Its biggest hurdle was the open world and if you can solve the open world problem (a world mind you mostly contained of towns, trees and seas) then the rest of the game won't be too much of an hassle.

Re: Zelda: TOTK And Mario Wonder Land GOTY Nominations At The Game Awards 2023

DennisReynolds

@theoryofeverywhere "barely even scratched the surface of Ultrahand. It is just so big and has so many possibilities"
Ultrahand comment aside this could be used to describe BG3. To be clear i think both TotK and BG3 are pretty much equal but there's something about BG3 that just puts ahead of everything else for me, its a game where you think you done everything only to find out you missed huge chunks of the map or a companion or god knows how many quests. Its a game where the ways of doing many of the questlines feel endless and its a game where a simple sounding quest turns into something far bigger. It also contains some of the best written and best acted characters in gaming who you can't help but fall in love with and miss when you're not playing. Its also pretty damn funny as well with a wicked sense of humour at times. TotK is incredible though and its very much worthy of winning, i'm just happy 2023 contains games of this level.

Re: Tears Of The Kingdom Continues To Prove That 'Open World Zelda' Is A Best-Selling Formula

DennisReynolds

@-wc- If a "traditional" Zelda released on Switch i can bet it wouldn't be anywhere near the numbers of the open world games.

People forget that Skyward Sword had a fairly bad rep, its a great game taking on its own but its formula had grown stale and it was a fairly disliked entry. BOTW breathed new life into an aged series and TOTK despite what some on here want to think perfected what BOTW started. Fans can moan all they want but the sales talk and Nintendo will listen to that instead of some grumpy old school fans longing for a stale formula they previous moaned Skyward Sword for having.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Poll Reveals Cross-play As Most Requested Online Feature

DennisReynolds

@Vyacheslav333 Why would i play on easy? I want some kind of challenge.

I play the MK1 story mode once, dabble in the lackluster Invansion mode and then put 100's of hours into Kombat League why? Because i want the challenge, i want the thrill of interacting with a real person and not a predictable AI, i want that rush of a good game where both of us are so close to beating each other where every blow and combo matters.

Yes fighters having loads of single player content is fantastic but the playerbase will always side with things that are MP focused first because its where the majority of their time is spent with the games. Finally your idea of single player "content" doesn't sound exciting, a 30 hour visual novel with a small handful of boring fights is not really content and i wouldn't even class that as a real fighting game. Don't get me wrong if you like that sort of thing then more power to you but there's a reason NRS prefer a 6-7 cinematic story over 30 hours of text and pretty artwork and its because most players would hardly touch it.
