@bennyacnh It does have a Switch 1 version, its 30fps but its fairly stable. Your save can be used with the Switch 2 version as well for when you upgrade.
Still boggles my mind how Nintendo get away with the Amiibo BS with their games. Its worse then DLC in my opinion as at least DLC is easily accessible.
@OmegaX83 Needs an internet connection on start up but once that's done it can be played offline. That's how it is on PS5 anyway and i have no idea on why it needs that one time connection either.
Best open world in the series? Look i'm a big defender of Shadows and have over 100 hours on it but its open world while very pretty (well with RTGI on) and big is very restrictive and lifeless. Out of the modern entries its the weakest map of the 4 (or 5 if we count Mirage), like seriously Odyssey's map runs circles around it.
Shame the Switch 2 version lacks RTGI. Its a gamechanger in looks and doesn't look great without it.
How do you make a 12 year old game look worse on 2017 and 2025 hardware then it did on 2006 hardware? This should be on par with the PS4 port at the very least.
@Tyranexx The GOTY last year was a Japanese game so i wouldn't say western bias. End of the day this has been a very stacked year, if not for E33 existing it would be hard predicting the winners.
@Elektrogeist1287 Kids? I'm 32 lol and i've played every entry multiple times barring the very first game. You can love the game i'm not saying you can't i'm just saying the reception towards Absolution is why they pivoted to the World of Assassination games.
@Elektrogeist1287 They have a point. The reason the World of Assassination trilogy exists is because of the backlash and underperformance of Absolution.
@dennabeht Funny because the LGBTQ+ community love Lady D. The people complaining are more likely to be the type of people who make comments like yours.
I'm a digital gamer and don't buy physical anymore but i'm not stupid i know full well digital titles are only available for as long as the Publisher/Dev allows it. Hell Nintendo have shown the pitfalls of digital gaming with 3D All Stars, impossible to get digitally now but you can still buy it physically one way or another.
This is just Nintendo just being scummy and anyone defending them over this really to question why they feel the need to defend a multi billion dollar corp who doesn't give a damn about them.
@ozwally Elden Ring can't even reach 60fps on a Pro and its a mess on base PS5 to this day so i wouldn't get your hopes up on it running well on Switch 2.
@1UP-HUSKY Watership Down was never a kids movie and that was the issue, parents assumed it was for kids because it was a cartoon and had bunny rabbits but it was never meant for children.
Also Disney put out plenty of films with mature themes for children, i mean Pixar is a good example of that.
@jojobar That's not how it works. Snowdrop is an engine designed around SSD's or speeds near them, the Switch 2 carts are slow for Snowdrop hence the need for internal storage instead.
The game can't even run at 60fps on the Pro and usually hovers in the early 50's with drops to the 40's so anyone expecting good performance on the Switch 2 is fooling themselves.
@Serpenterror Yeah games existing don't tend to rely on whether you play them or not. I think they tend to focus on whether loads play them instead of just one person.
People who choose the Switch 2 versions of games really need to get used to 30fps. If you want 60fps play on better hardware not a console weaker then a Series S.
@Hapless Late reply sorry but just to say if exclusives didn't exist we wouldn't even be discussing a Switch 2 port of SB because Nintendo wouldn't be making hardware anymore. Without exclusives the PS1 might have failed. Without having Halo as an exclusive Xbox would have died almost straight away (something MS has admitted thenselves).
@SillyG Bandwagon? By that logic 1080p was a bandwagon. 4K looks better on a 4K TV then 1080p its why Devs try to aim beyond 1080p because it will look better on a 4K screen especially an OLED. Its why i never play my Switch docked because it looks awful on my 4K screen.
Won't happen but it would be lovely if Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal/Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen all got added to Switch Online.
@Cathalm I mean it only infringes because of a patent put in place after Palworld released something that should be against the law. It would be like Nintendo filing a patent for Zelda style free climbing and then going after every game released since BotW that has type of climbing.
@Grumblevolcano Doubt the Survivor Trilogy will come first and if it does it will most likely be CD doing a straight current gen remaster. The reason the Legend Trilogy will no doubt come next is because they aren't on PS4/5 and Switch.
@Hookshot-Username Boomer shooters are a thing and its a certain style of FPS from the 90's like Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D and such. I'm not a fan of the name but it does make some sense when applied to video game years, "boomer" means old right? Well the 90's is pretty much the birth of the FPS genre so yeah "boomer shooter" is a name that kinda works as these types of games harken back to those types of shooters.

Without RTGI its just not worth it.
Re: Here's Another Look At Elden Ring Running On Switch 2
@Ganon821 The irony of complaining about delays on a Nintendo themed site. Would you rather them rush it out in a bad state instead?
Re: Here's Another Look At Elden Ring Running On Switch 2
The visuals should be fine on Switch 2 as it is a PS4 game the issue is will the framerate hold at 30fps or crumple?

Re: Poll: What Do You Make Of Link And Zelda's Live-Action Looks?
Zero complaints from me, she looks especially good as Zelda.
Re: Mini Review: Hitman: Absolution (Switch) - A Decent Port Of The Series' Black Sheep
If the game is good for one thing its causing IO to pivot into the World of Assassination trilogy.

Re: Hitman: Absolution Shoots Onto Switch 1 Next Week
Easily the weakest and most restrictive entry in the series. It has its moments yes but overall its a poor Hitman game.

Well screw me i guess as i'm getting the game in Dec when i get my Switch 2.
Re: Terminator 2D: No Fate Has Been Delayed On All Consoles
They should delay to Dec to be honest as Oct and Nov are already stacked as hell.
Re: Dynasty Warriors: Origins Will Run At A "Fixed" 30fps On Switch 2
@LikelySatan More like the 100's NPC on screen at once. Also it sounds like it could 60fps but would often drop so they went with 30fps instead.

Re: Rumour: Final Fantasy Devs Supposedly Hint At Another Nintendo Release
The game will look and run like ass on Switch 2. It looks and performs pretty rough on PS5 and SX so Switch 2 has no chance.

@Hapless Exclusives sell consoles that's why exclusives exist. Its amazing how the newer generation of gamers have yet to grasp this.

Re: Poll: 10 Years On, Which Version Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Is Best?
Both 3DS remakes of OOT and MM are the far better versions. The originals will always be special and classics but they have aged a lot.

@Grumblevolcano Doubt the Survivor Trilogy will come first and if it does it will most likely be CD doing a straight current gen remaster. The reason the Legend Trilogy will no doubt come next is because they aren't on PS4/5 and Switch.
