We've often shared updates on pre-orders and stock from the Nintendo UK Official Store, a rather decent resource for picking up games, New 3DS cover plates, amiibo and other merchandise. It sometimes has limited editions or other stock not available elsewhere, and occasionally its pre-order bundles (often with T-Shirts and other extras) offer better value than elsewhere.
Nintendo of Europe is now rolling out the idea to other countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Holland and Portugal. The tweet below announced as much, with the link taking you to an area where you choose a country.
It's not quite as universal or substantial as we might expect, however. This isn't an eShop packed with download games, for example, so picking up a download on your computer or smart device still necessitates finding the applicable game page on the official Nintendo websites while logged into My Nintendo. Nor are all the stores the same across all countries.
The UK store is completely unchanged and remains far more substantial than the others, as a result offering quite a broad variety of options. The European continent options seem far more limited in stock, focusing on merchandise like clothing, bags and plushes, and not many at that.
Some early replies to the above tweet are expressing disappointment, though there's plenty of time for these stores to expand and improve. Check your local store out and let us know what you think.

Cool, now how about NoA get on board with something like this?
Think it would be more newsworthy if Nintendo ever tweeted anything that didn't see responses of criticism and disappointment.
He moaned....
That's nice, maybe they can sort out their delivery so that I actually get my pre-order on the release date, instead of a week later
Still no option for The Republic of Ireland though. I'd be happy with the option to use the UK store and pay for shipping :-/
Still no Ireland. What the hell Nintendo!!
@Bunkerneath A week late? That is odd. Everything I've pre-ordered with them has always turned up a day early.
Nothing for Poland, as always, haha ... sigh
Before I saw the other stores were totally different to the Nintendo UK Store, I thought this meant extending the Nintendo UK Official Store and making it even harder for people to secure things such as the Fire Emblem Fates - Limited Edition of which I have secured.
Nothing on the german store that I wouldn't find at GameStop and similar stores.
@GoldenGamer88 Hey there.
I went to the portuguese store and was really disapointed. The website is super slow and they do not sell games, they only sell merchandise (and the prices are nothing special). I went to the spanish, french, italian and german stores and they were the same. What a shame, i hope for improvements in the future.
I've been satisfied with the North American Nintendo Store. I got Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition for $30 there (before the $20 Selects version came out). They have pretty good prices, especially on refurbished games. Not even Amazon will beat some of this site's prices. I'm not kidding. The only issue is shipping, but even then I think the prices are really good.
They also have a surprising amount of accessories, like Hori Battle Pads, cables, and the like. For any North American, I recommend going to the NA Nintendo Store.
I would say that I feel sorry for Europe's lackluster online stores, but I'm really not sorry at all. The EU eShop is 50 times better than the NA eShop. So this evens things out.
Finally! This was long overdue. Now I don't have to order at Nintendo UK anymore.
Once again, NOE puts NOA to shame. I think it's time for Reggie to pack up his things and go fail at some other company.
I was under the impression that there are 59 countries in Europe. Not 8.
No games? Also 45 euro's for a 16 gb sd card for 3ds seems pretty expensive :S
@Zanark pretty expensive? It's a batsh#t insane price.
@Cosats it's still amazing for Nintendo to acknowledge that there are more than 6!
Those are good looking Robin and Pit amiibo. Too bad America can't have them.
Little disappointed in the stores content. Hopefully the will add more later on. p.s. @Thomas Whitehead: Holland isn't a country (The Netherlands is however)
I just can't understand why NoE hasn't rolled this out in every European country.
They would make lots of money on me, and probably on thousands of Scandinavian Nintendo customers, if they offered a Scandinavian store with shipping prices similar to other domestic stores. As it is now, I have to pay around double the UK price, sometimes more, to get these items to my door, so I never did.
Still no Scandinavia of course, expected nothing less.
@The_BAAD_Man I cannot believe they ignored Ireland again, just allow us order from ure UK store, for goodness sake they will deliver to Northern Ireland but not the South! Boo Nintendo Booooooooo!
Well no difference for me as I have the UK store but I am glad for the other europeans I know people are dissappointed but hey it only just opened so it should improve soon!
Most things are priced well on the Nintendo UK Store EXCEPT from individual retail games which are waaay overpriced!
EDIT: There are many countries in Europe that Nintendo doesn't officially sell in or there is no official distributers... it would really help if Nintendo opened an online store for all those countries!
A step in the right direction, but still excluding too many. Also, I thought there was supposed to be a selection of 2000 games available. I can see a revamped presentation, but content is still lacking.
That would be nice to buy OSTs on the online store, now that the Club Nintendo is closed with no other way to get them...
@NekoGeo: You can listen/check them out on Youtube and there are options (that I won't write), how to get these music in usable formats, that you can listen on your computer or other devices.
@ThomasBW84 I believe they also opened the online store in the Netherlands.
@Donjoe The fact that they will deliver to Northern Ireland but not to the Republic is what bothers me most. Sure, they use GBP up North but as I said, they could at lest offer a paid shipping option for the Republic of Ireland.
Technically didn't these stores (and more) exist for the New 3DS Ambassador systems?
The accessories part of the shop (3DS power plugs, Kid Icarus cards+stand) has existed for a few years in Germany.
Still I'd prefer to have a spare parts/refurbished systems store like America has. Germany can order spare parts (at fairly expensive delivery cost) but if you're in the UK you have to send the system for repair to get the parts which is crazy.
@BornInNorway81
or more like to Nordic countries, not just Scandinavia. We have several online retailers that already ship all over the Nordic countries so NINTY COME ON! We are left out on everything (no Club Nintendo for example, at least MyNintendo works )
So far I use order my ninty merch from EMP and games from different online retailers...
I don't understand why Nintendo doesn't open up to other European countries. First Miitomo, now this. I mean, specific regions for a mobile game? Really?
@opeter Some people love to have the original disc with its exclusive case and label.
