I would play way more, but i can't. I need way more custom design slots. 100 is not enough. I can't do any cool stuf fin my house and my island is only half done and i'm already out of custom slots. Ofc i won't play more if i can't continue my projects.

Also, doesn't help how hard my place lags because i have more than 5 items on the screen at a time.

One more thing to shove in to games for a second and third dip in to players wallets.

Considering how late after launch the implemented it, i doubt they will bother to increase the pace. Watch the next console drop and nintendo just start all over again with with snailpace.

Handheld "gaming" PC have been in demand for a long time. I myself am waiting for the next round with RDNA2 systems.

Why would i buy a handheld PC if i could buy a better desktop PC? Because i want to. The switch doesn't give me the feel i had with the PSP nearly 2 decades ago.

I want a system that can play my collection, be my PC in my pocket and be where i am at any time. The switch is nice and all, but the lack of performance is what kills it for me.

Also, remote play is crap.

@SwitchForce pls, tell me that comment was a joke. "They can imitate the Switch but don't have the library to backup and that can be a issue when your trying to sell more games." PC has the biggest library, bigger than all consoles combined.

I still don't associate a game character to someone IRL just ebcause of a name. I doubt anyone that plays OW for more than 5min will keep calling the cowboy McCree.

The current switch can't make use of that output and sure as hell ain't future proof. It already lags at games that aren't even 720p, so what would you do with that 4K60? Can't even watch movies with it and even with, any basic TV now comes with "smart" functions, making a switch as media hub obsolete.

So it's like old Monster Hunter games on the PSP? It's "open", but in segments?

I think stuff like Ai Dungeon is more something for blind people that games like splatoon, animal crossing and what not. Those games do require you to see to aim or interact with the world and make the basic mechanics work.

What should be more of a topic is a visual radar for deaf people to "see sound" like footsteps. We're making great progress with special controllers for impaired and can bring great experiences thanks to VR in your home.

Some games do support colorblind functions, but blindness is hard to work with in most game types. I can't think of many games outside of AI Dungeon (if you want to call it a game) and stuff like boardgames or riddles/mysteries.

I wonder if this will lead to an updated Handheld Wii, with an maybe even smaller PCB hack?

I would say the tech is here and readdy for use, at the same price. Steam Deck will have support for AMD FSR... well, the PC games that support FSR will have it, on a system that's the same price as the switch (OLED).

I wonder if Nintendo will hop on the AMD APU train with their next handheld, or if they'll stay on ARM with nvidia. Both very cool options, considering that ARM SoC are in develompent left and right and how good the M1 is.

For me McCree is Overwatch McCree. I don't know any other Cree and i will not call him by any other name. It's ***** what happend and still happens at Blizz, but i'm sure that not a single OW fan that care about the game will se this change as anything more than appeasing twitter knights, that have nothing to do with the game or community. Same story pre launch, where the fems got mad at tracers ass in the victory pose...

IDK why people see this in a negative light. GPD has done android devices for a very long time and this is just their newest version. It's been their cheapest handheld and super popular. Shame they changed from clamshell XD Plus to this eh PSP design.

@NEStalgia Right now, the can't. Valve is using a custom APU that's not going to be available until late 2022 for other manufacturers. Right now, they have the Win3 and the Win Max 2021 refresh that are the kingpin, for now.

I've seen a ton of game'n'watches here in switzerland. People don't really care and even on resale sites, they are usually the same price as retail.

Nintendo could do us some good and copy sony and nvidia here. The the original switch being the PSVita and Nvidia Shield Portable and Nintendo could do a PSVita TV or Shield TV. Better cooled and full power X1 for the TV switch gamers. If we had a savefile share function so we could play on the TV AND on the go, that would be dope.

@Ravenmaster To be correct, the old and refresh switch both have the same capacity battery, it's just that the refresh and the Lite have a more efficient 16nm X1 while the old one has a 20nm. The battery gain stems from the node shrink.

So the OLED still has the old battery, the refresh X1 and all the other new things.

The only way i ever used tabletop mode was me in bed, joycons left and right and the switch on my belly.

By the looks of it, the moved the air intake to the bottom edge. meaning in table mode you're blocking the intake? The back shell i snow one larger piece, which should make the new one feel more riggid.

All in all it's a classic nintendo thing to do. I wouldn't have minded that it wasn't a complete overhaul, but to not even touch upon the Tegra SoC is a poor decission and shows the "it's good enough" mindset nintendo has since forever.

They didn't even bother to add the d-pad here and really just made a inferior, yet improved switch Lite XL. Also the BT specs are false, since we can't even use it. kek

Maybe they should do a unique design for the switch version. Maybe a cellshade? I don't think it would be a bad idea, since you simply can't do some games in high enough detail on the switch.

I'm at a point again where i can't continue my island because i ran out of design slots (again). Just stop limiting it! Or set a cap like 500. 50 was bad, 100 is a tiny bit better but i need more. Just that would probably give me another 200-300 of time waste doing my thing.

Add more stuff to grow. Reduze the hitbox of items by 50% so i don't act like a super conductor around them. More plant items (cmon, the damn musem already has 1000x cool plants in pots). Let me hang wall stuff on cliffs and use carpets outside!

So much potential, wasted because nintendon't.

It's pretty ok for 99$. I've seen way worse se/ce/le for that price. Remember the FF13 games that had 2 stickersheets and a tiny artbook for 109$.

Waiting since the introduction of custom gamemodes for them to unlock all maps in all modes. Can't tell you how bothersom it is, to see the same map again and again when you have dozens more, locked away because everyone is a baby and needs handholding.

I'm bothered with nintendo calling this an update and pushing it out as if we'd gain something big from it. It's just 12 damn items that could have been a footnote in a real update.

Her's another thing to think about: Nintendo has a metric poop ton of thin they can provide as update. More design slots (or just make them unlimited, or a nook mile purchase), QoL improvement like a preview where you'll dig in to with your shovel or improved dialogue with villagers or functinal staf flike orvile... So much stuff that seems artificially cut could be used for updates, but hey, let's add 12 items and call it a day.

Damn, Papa Jeff will always be a part of OW for me. Hope he'll get some nice games going, if he joins another studio.

To be fair, yes, cheating in games is bad but hacking your console should never be a punishable offense.

One thing i hate about current gaming is that when i buy a physical game, i can't install it on my console and leave the cartridge at home when i go somewhere. This is where i welcome "backups". If i already own the game, gimme options.

That's what happens when you emulate a gamepad. You get delay, lack of precision and no real translation of functions. Without native support, it's always a joke.

I hope there will be a change in how nintendo approaches the new switch. They had enough time for feedback and where to fix and improve things.

I'd like to see them add things such as bluetooth, ingame voicechat (discord??), LTE and keep good things such as the TV dock and easy access to the internals.

Owning many handhelds now, i still like the PSP and PSV way more in my hands. Especially the slider on the PSP beats the analog sticks when playing portable/handheld.

Ergonomics and material feel is the major thing i'm concerned about with the next switch. Performance will probably be fine, but if the mess up the handheld feel for me, might aswell sell me something like a PSV TV switch version.

I like digital because how practical it is, but i still have this unsafe feeling considering how nintendo tends to nuke their online services. Sony atleast doesn't stop you from re-dowloading old games, just stop purchase/sale.

Emulation sadly won't be an option for consoles like the PS5 in the near future, at least for exclusive titles.

I have to original and it's great. What i'd want change/add is a dedicated turbo button instead of replacing the screenshot button. Another change is to replace select and start with ABXY style buttons. Playing a lot of ACNH means pressing a lot of start/select and it really doesn't feel good.

I modded my switch early on. Clear shells, new buttons,mini dock and some stick-on stuff to make it all nice, but the best mode was to make a hole right above the fan.

Everything be switch like. No one mentioning the edge pro, psp, vita or all the android handhelds before the switch.

I guess they're done with MK8D on the switch. I'd like to see something else anyway. Make a Nintendo Cart or Cart Bros. Use all the characters you got in SSB for a more broad and fun racebrawler.

Idk when you last saw a switch, but that thing reminds me more of an Archos. Resembles the aya neo in some aspects and looks comfy with the button and stick placement, unlike the switch.

Man, everything they have shown looks good. Refreshing maps with more details and some new routes, weather and changing daytimes alone blew my mind. I only expected the hero mode, some new maps and heroes, but they actually are upgrading and improving everything.

Can't wait.

40$ for a capture card is a super cheap, but the res./fps is a bit limiting. I guess nice for capturing some moments, but can't replace a 150$ 4K60 pro for "professional" use.

@Kriven exactly! a third power stage for a "pro" model is absolutely doable. it could range from 1080p resolution, dlss like features, higher fps rate on existing resolutions, ect.

A pro model might not even be about more power, but less, in fact. Same performance but less power draw and higher thermal headroom is a upgrade worth doing. The current X1 isn't even fully utilized due to thermal and power limits. Having more headroom in those 2 areas would allow for a even smaller switch, a revison of the existing models. I'd be happy with a more high end model, having all the og switch features in a vita size (and bluetooth).

But hey, if 4K isn't mentioned it isn't realistic huh?

ACNL is a great game, i love it. Shame that the game feels so incomplette once you invest a lot of time in it. I wish they'd pick up on peoples whishes ala #ImagineAnimalCrossing
