Imagine wondering if you should buy the game and after seeing this 'event' you decide to buy it for Christmas for you or someone else abd then it's just not available. Ruddy out of order if you ask me.

See now I'd totally get this game if it had intentional sub-par graphics as in sharp/slightly blurry/poly/whatever but done cleanly and if the framerate was stable.

Watching the other half play BOTW, that actually has a fair amount of pop-in for the enemies and thats cool.

But this... such a disappointment. I really hope one day there is a patch that'll make it better.

@DarthFoxMcCloud Ya can't blame people for worrying after the other 3rd party dock mess'. Also unless the info I've garnered is wrong (possibility, this is the net after all) then using certain ports could be a fire risk. :/

Also, I'm no expert on electronics but doesnt USB have a pretty low amperage limit. With all these plugged into the USB out on the dock surely something is amiss...?

The joycon batteries are rated at 525mah. If we imagine the pro controller and pokeball plus is the same that totals to 2.1a.

The Switch charger runs 2 different settings. One at 5v 1.8a which is obviously not enough amd another at 15v 2.6a which is fine and dandy except that (supposedly) is only fed to the USB3 port at the back of the dock not the side USB ports.

Sooo I checked the website and the user guide for this kit says any available port. If my findings are correct I would ONLY use the rear USB port otherwise things are gonna get hairy with everything charging at once.

Regarding hacking/piracy in general, my view is varied.
For one, I can't really blame the individual for hacking and pirating if they want to as at the end of the day it's immediately life threatening or anything and multi bajillion companies aren't going to lose sleep.

On the other hand, people,devs,employees depend on the money made from the games and pirating will have a knock on effect of growth etcetc.
Plus it's peoples creations and I'm sure most others would be pretty annoyed if you drew an original character but thousands of others made money from it.

So my end result is a small amount of piracy per person for old and aging systems is probably ok. Modern stuff? Eh...a bit ott.

I just wish I enjoyed the game more. Not that it's bad by any means, just something didn't quite click with me and probably my expectations.

I wouldn't say it's too tough though. I'm a very casual player (block what block?!) but have managed to unlock a fair few on the first or 2nd try, occasionally 3rd.

I find the AI doesn't like dash hits much

@companyoflosers To be fair some games have employed a single screen-at-a-time affair where both people need to walk to the edge to enter the next area.

Would have been difficult for the town area though obviously.

Probably would cost a lot of resources too.

I find it so strange that Smash, a lighthearted, fun, crazy random item based game even HAS a tournament scene.

"Ok guys, no items, no unlocks, focus only on each individual frame of animation, only 2 stages, no smash ball...you know what let's just play Street Fighter ffs"

Edit: If it's that much of an issue, why don't the organisers just limit it to the characters available at the start?

And ya can't say "because this guy mains someone else" because no previous Smash has had all the fighters before.
Also that just set's a boring stage of every game always having the same characters every time.

I wish people would start making more of these 'epic' games but either with Switch in mind (obviously wasnt an option for this port, just saying) or with more barebones graphics/lighting etc.

I wouldn't mind something graphically akin to N64 but with more world to explore and no invisible walls etc.

Anyway, to those that already bought it, here's hoping a future patch can iron out the framerate and pop in a bit.

Very excited, everything about this Smash seems right for me and then some.

I'm in no way claiming I can do better or even begin to make a game but that's just embarrasing in the video. I only watched the first 3 minutes and the explanations on why it was all messed up is not looking good.

@Yosher I agree with you there. The talent is amazing on both versions and as a song forbthe trailer it's decent but it is too busy lyrically for me.
Still listening to it in hype though lol

Loved the Amiibo when I realised they existed, then detested them when I realised the lack of most, the scalpers and the consumer economy/rarity surrounding some of them.

Glad people love them but at most I will maybe but the odd one if I see it in a shop.

Was really looking forward to this when first announced.
Then came the mediocre reception for other platforms and the fact I remembered Bigben are those awful lot who threw out that tennis game unfinished and didn't give a jot about the retailers etc.

Probably a pass for me now based purely on the publisher.

I agree it's a bit sad they are releasing only NES games right now (especially for those who have had played them on the last few consoles already!)

I think Arms has plenty content for a fighting game. Plus it's a very polished title start to finish.

The other half and I never really had any major problems throughout (occaisonal glitchy match but otherwise fine) but this latest update jeez!
They lowered resolution and adjusted things to make load times easier but all it's done is make it near unplayable.

Idc if the buildings look like butt, just give us a generally good experience. The rubber banding and ground jumping is madenning seeing as it was all hunky dory before

@paihia Yea I agree about stories making a more subversive gaming experience but doesn't mean that so many other games aren't worth playing again or are boring in comparison. Games started without stories and will continue to do so and still provide a satisying past time.

Just found it odd someone saying games without stories aren't as replayable.
I present thousands of arcade games and their fans lol
