Re: Review: Knights And Bikes - A Zelda-Style Adventure That's Perfect For Couch Co-Op

CodyDogg

“This philosophy extends to the whole game with its focus on co-op and while, yes, you can make it through all the obstacles and challenges alone if you choose, you’re missing out on a critical component of the experience by not having a friend on hand to enjoy it with you.”

Ha...so like real-life, then! That sucks, as my crew of co-op candidates is rapidly deteriorating due to my advanced, mid-thirties, age.! Still want, though...

Re: Feature: Media Molecule Veterans On Bringing Co-Op Coming-Of-Age Adventure Knights & Bikes To Switch

Shovel Knight (Wii U) refused to go along with Nintendo’s ridiculous confirm/cancel set up...which was pretty cool! As mentioned above, the Big 3 should agree on a uniform set up. Since XBox and PS are pretty much the same...looks like ‘we’ll’ have to change. It’s like the metric system and...inches, feet, miles, etc.; why does one group have to different for (seemingly) different’s sake?! As an American, I say this: Nintendo, don’t sink to our level.!

Re: Review: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore - A Pitch-Perfect, Feel-Good JRPG

CodyDogg

Kinda pissed they ported this (possessive, much.?), but this is a GREAT game! If you can get past the niche storyline and characters, you’ll find a rewarding and deep game that’s challenging, but not super-grinding. Helps that I visited Tokyo just after finishing the game (coincidence), but yeah, definitely exceeded already lofty expectations upon completion.

Re: SteamWorld Quest Gets Physical On Switch, Pre-Orders Go Live Next Week

CodyDogg

@LegendOfStewart
Sorry to hear that; I got mine right when the preorder opened, but I work on a computer most of the time, so being ‘available’ and ready with the 16 digits (23.?) around noon, November 7th was easier for me than others. Paying scalpers is beyond aggravating when you ‘miss the boat’ on such titles, agreed.
@JaxonH
Oh MAN! Could that happen? That would kill me! If there’s one thing I DO NOT LIKE about this company, it’s there need/desire to center the title on the spine!! Nitpicky-Absolutely-but, I mean, I’m a physical-only freak (except very few situations), so it comes with the territory. Also, no other company I’ve seen does this with their games, so, cmon...what gives?!

Re: Battle Princess Madelyn Gets A Limited Run On Switch Later This Week

CodyDogg

@MisterKorman
Ha, totally; we find ourselves in a no-win world often, don’t we.?! Admittedly, I am one of those physical hold-outers, but when the time comes that one of my games I’ve wanted goes physical, I STFU and just open the coffers! Now, with Night in the Woods (etc.) and possibly dubba-dippin, well...aaaaarrrrghhh!!

Re: SNK's Terry Bogard Joins Smash Bros., And There Are Even More Fighters To Come

CodyDogg

@SKTTR: Agreed on the greatness of the game via its comprehensive catalog, BUT, I can cry about what they did to my Luigi! Former #1 overall main man (since ‘01, mind you) is now relegated to...8th, if that? I tear up just thinking of his wretched Plunger grab and 2” tornado...

On an related ‘no one cares whom you want’ note: PLEASE, Sakurai-san, Waluigi and Skull Kid!!! Please.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch RPGs

CodyDogg

No Ys VIII or Setsuna (if Sphear’s here, than so should ‘I’...); then Neptunia, Steamworld Quest, Romancing SaGa 2, Cosmic Star and Deltarune (again, if Under’s here, then so should D:c1).

Also, ditto @many: RPGs, in this freaky mind, are turn-based affairs only. Got a grid while alternating turns of action.? You’re strategy, a separate category, again, in my twisted perception.

Bonus ditto @many: at release, both Earthlock and YIIK were generally panned. What gives? Was everyone, including reviewers found on this site, wrong? Hmm..

Re: River City Girls Brings Classic Beat 'Em Up Action To Switch This September

CodyDogg

@Dakotastomp: exactly! No outrage here...but bring up the cast of the Witcher (or ANYTHING not EXACTLY like it once ‘was’) and it’s “I HATE SJW, diversity, MeToo, a world where white males Only have Most of the power” Proud Boys behind keyboards propaganda. Change everything, I say, and toast a marshmallow to a meaningless world on fire.

Re: Feature: The Ever-Changing World Of Nintendo Switch Menu Icons

CodyDogg

Icons aren’t make or break for me, but I can understand deleting or, more appropriately (opinion), starting up 12 other games to rid oneself of its unsightliness. Speaking personally, my physical collection is semi-ruined because The Adventure Pals folks decided to center their title rather than ascend from the top (arrrrrgh, am I right?!). I also think two/three icon options, mentioned by many of you lovelies, for each game would be monumental, OCD-wise. That said, NINTENDO: give us the Wii/Wii U tiled layout option! Make each icon customizable in their layout (preset sorting options are a good start...) and folders for those inclined. I’ve had this thing for just six months, and the single, scroll-right layout is becoming depressing (in the ‘how is this the only default option?’ kind of way)...
