Nope. I loved Curtain Call, but all that dlc was murder. The 'other games by square enix' stuff I get, but there were several ff songs - sometimes important ones! - that should have been in the base game.
The SECOND this one's first trailer went 'hey isn't Melodies of Life that we're playing for you so good? better buy the dlc pass to get it' I was out.
Hearing that it's a bit less pick-up-and-play than Curtain Call, and seeing that there's ALREADY super-elitist people looking down on and not-as-subtly-as-they-think insulting anybody who doesn't jive with that change at the very first glance, isn't great either. That said, I'd already decided not to give them my money, no matter how deep the sale.
sigh This game is...fine. I mean, I'm glad it'll be on the switch at all, don't get me wrong, but I would MUCH rather get a remaster of ReDigitize: Decode made and ported instead.
There are definitely things I'd like changed or adjusted, but overall I like the game and wish they'd bring it forward.
But please, do something about those post-credits scenes. They were such an awful and sudden backhand, undermining much of the motivation and story just so they can go 'It's SomEthInG AbOuT tHis PlAnEt!!!' yet again and give an unresolved outcome to at least two things that were supposed to be resolved by the ending just beforehand.
I thought it faded but thinking about those scenes years later and nope, I don't feel any different about them, the post-credits scenes suck.
Actual gameplay is fun though, barring a few minor annoyances.
Didn't see a survey. Turned off my adblocker - still gone. Temporarily allowed all scripts - still not there.
Tried a different browser that's usually more compatible - nothing. Turned off THAT browsers adblocker/shield functions - nada. Guess I won't be filling this one out.
...Hm. Well, it's cool, and it's nice to see the series actually doing things - especially things that get translated.
Still, I'd really prefer a 'proper' Monster Rancher over nothing but collabs or that reskin of a super-predatory gacha game (ugh) that Japan is getting.
Again, nice that they're doing things, and collabs make sense given some of the series past monsters! Good for Ultraman fans too, I suppose. Just...I'd rather have, y'know, stuff like Naga and Suezo and fusion into their crossbreeds and other Monster Rancher stuff over this.
On the one hand, the US cover is a pretty generic old-school anime style interpretation, and not a great one at that.
On the other hand, the bloody ring is INCREDIBLY boring and feels like it could belong to pretty much any bloody action or horror game on a boat. At least put some claw marks or an eye or something, come on.
I'll pick the admittedly-kinda-lame US cover because at least it feels more recognizable and less bland.
Well it's about time! Although now I have to actually go and put in the effort of finishing my shiny hunts, haha.
That said, that one anti-cheat rule about 'one per save' on special encounters really gives traders and collectors the middle finger, huh? With all the other guards - and the fact that they do very little about the blatant hacks sitting around trades at other times - this seems pretty ridiculous and strict.
...well, looks like everyone else has already beaten all the other thoughts to death, so I'll just comment on my own personal preference and say that I am annoyed on the insistence of setting Sonic CD before Sonic 2 just because Tails isn't in it. Being between 2 and 3 just makes more sense to me.
I dunno, he looks really scared and upset to me. Like either there's a monster hunting him or he just got kicked out of the house for not paying his half of the rent.
No sign of them for me, same as last time they did this sort of thing. I checked my preferences beforehand and they seem to be right - the newsletters basically almost never show up for me, not even in spam.
I beat three of four beasts. Never bothered with the lizard one, never bothered to fight Ganon - I really just didn't want to play the game any more. I had soldiered on with quests and upgrades and such for a good long while after the charm was lost, but I realized it was a sunk cost fallacy and was just making me miserable so I ditched it. I'm not exactly hyped for the next game.
I did watch a friend who I think was just missing some koroks and/or upgrades fight the boss and do the ending. ...It wasn't worth it.
Looks interesting...but I really wish they'd properly support Link Evolution more. The thing is still rather unstable (not just the switch version either, they're pretty much all a mess, though the switch version is slightly more crash-happy), and they didn't bother updating much of anything after about a year or so.
Yeah yeah, it's already an update to Legacy of the Duelist, but at least make the thing run reliably!
The figure itself looks pretty good. Not crazy about the way they handled the Chaos Spears though - they look kinda like they're shoved onto half a plastic bracelet.
Eh...I really liked 999 and VLR, but frankly I hated Zero Time Dilemma, so if it's Zero Excape I can't really have any enthusiasm anymore. I've heard of Somnium Files but I'm not really familiar with it.
I think this a pretty deeply flawed study, both in method (how common it's searched on google, really?) and in scope (enough with the gen-1-only thing already).
With that said, the real standout here for me is...that art! I was expecting just the official art plastered on, but instead it's different and quite distinct!
Eww, that doesn't look good. I loved Sinnoh, and this sort of thing is exactly why I was hoping they wouldn't announce remakes yet. This is like a mobile game, and that's shameful.
'They're working on legends' isn't a good reason for this. Just don't do it yet if you can't give it proper attention!
So many people like 'aw dumb bellyachers complain about everything' - yeah, we complain because we care about the series and accepting any laziness just for a logo isn't gonna cut it. I don't agree with the people being outright hateful and aggressive, but people are totally within their rights to be unhappy with things. This just looks kinda blah, and it shouldn't!
As for Legends, well...it looks like an interesting proof-of-concept, but also like it might get rather dull after an hour or two. (On a more random note, what a bizarre set of starters.)
I guess it's a neat tie-in? We used to get Pikachu that knew stuff like surf or fly, and there's various other things that aren't really obtainable that hasn't been distributed yet, so by comparison this seems...pretty lame...
Sounds like they're swapping out most of the cast again. I wasn't a huge fan of several of these voices (specifically for these roles, I mean - I like some of this overall cast set plenty in other stuff, just less so with the Sonic characters they're linked with) but I do wish they'd stop doing this shortly after each new set is really settling in and getting the hang of their roles. (Sonic X may have been a minor mess, but I miss some of those voices. They had improved a lot when they were suddenly cut. At least this time it doesn't seem to be quite as sudden and without warning to the VAs themselves like it was last time.)
Given past behavior and general popularity I think there's a fairly good chance Mike Pollock will be kept again, just like with the last VA purge, but I guess only time will tell for certain.
...all of the 'buy it in this window' options for 'no' are based on principle. I'm not getting it, but that's not really the reason. I just don't have the cash.
Eh...I've actually played the PC version of this. It's probably best suited to those who like to explore a little weird-looking area; it's a tad dull. Getting around the areas and dealing with the camera is a little weird, too. I've definitely played worse, but I didn't bother finishing it.
For those of you hoping for an actual learning experience in terms of art...you might want to skip this one. There isn't really much form or purpose to what you draw, and it doesn't really teach you any techniques or the like.
I like the European art (why is he blond now though?) but that logo is uuuuugly. Went with NA for slightly more balance. (The Japanese has a little nice art but...it's really not very appealing to look at.)
Man, I wish wireless controllers - or gaming controllers in general, really - weren't so expensive. I like the look of the pro controller, but man, that price.

Don't get me wrong, the fitting room is a convenient step up, but if you aren't planning on wearing it out and want to buy more than one of a single category or some conflicting items, you have to exit and re-enter for every set. Since so many items are ONLY in the closet, it gets extra irritating when all the things left you want are in the same category. In and out with the same animation and text, buying one thing at a time...it starts to grate a bit when you're a collector or just like lots of clothes.
Also, you know how the crafting screen shows if you've made an item at least once and if you have one on-hand or in storage? I'd like an optional filter like that in the storage, specifically for things that can and can't be ordered from the catalog. There are way more items and clothing than can fit in the storage, and checking which can't be easily ordered if you want it later (and should therefore be held on to) is kinda clunky.

Re: Poll: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - What Would You Like To See Added In An Update?
I recently got the tailor and I have to say - a better batch/multi-buy option would be nice.
