Re: Talking Point: Why Metroid Dread Will Be Worth $60

Chamver

So, let me gt this straight; people are okay paying $60 for Sony's interactive movies with less than 10 hours of game play and almost ZERO replay-ability, but somehow can't understand why a 2-D game in a revered franchise deserves the same price? Someone help me understand how that makes any conceivable sense.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Shares Irritation At Speculation Over Bayonetta 3

It's crazy because, as Nintendo is both publishing and paying for the development of this game, it's entirely up to Nintendo to give the green light for him to speak about the game. He is basically between a rock and a hard place. People need to stop taking video games so damn seriously, already. Get a damn life! Maybe if you had one, you wouldn't be sitting around waiting for a damn game to come out.

Re: Talking Point: With Sony And Microsoft In Next-Gen Limbo, E3 Is Nintendo's For The Taking

Chamver

Nintendo is at its absolute worst right now, creatively speaking. When their consoles are selling well and their profit is skyrocketing, they become complacent and simply do not produce the content we expect from them. This happens every single time, without fail. This E3 will be no different. Nintendo will show the bare minimum and blame Covid like everyone else. Don't set yourself up for disappointment, people. Successful Nintendo is worst Nintendo.

Re: E3's Just Days Away, Yet Nintendo's Being Oddly Quiet About Its Plans

These companies love to blame their laziness on Covid, when their games development schedule and release dates are known for months (even years) ahead. Nintendo, like very other company, will blame Covid, even though most companies have complete games they are sitting on just so that they can pad out their schedule when things start to wane. Arrogant Nintendo is worst Nintendo.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Replay Games?

Chamver

The only games I never replay are Sony games. They are always one and done experiences, especially their interactive movies like TLOU. There really is zero incentive to play those games more than once. Games like Super Metroid, however? I've replayed that more times than I can count.

Re: The Pokémon Company Recorded Its Highest Profits Ever In 2020

Chamver

I just don't understand teh appeal of GO; it's not a real Pokemon game, it's severely limited, it doesn't even have every Pokemon. Who still plays it and why? Why do they spend so much money on it? It's no wonder GF releases such piss-poor mainline games these days. Why should they make any effort when their mobile trash makes all teh profit?

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think The "Switch Pro" Will Actually Be Called?

Chamver

I think the best possible choice would be "SWITCH PRO". It's not a successor to Switch, so Switch 2 wouldn't make any sense. They don't want a "WiiU" debacle again, but knowing Nintendo, they will ***** it up one way or the other. Ultimately, NEW Nintendo Switch will probably be the final name. It's exactly the type of goofy move that the dinosaur executives at NCL will make.

Re: Soapbox: Resident Evil Gaiden Is Good, Actually

Chamver

I recently played it and the only thing I liked about it was the battle system. It reminded me a bit of one of Undertale's battles. I couldn't get past the hideous, dated graphics, though. I like retro gaming, but it has to be at least 16-bit and up.

Re: Feature: A Perfect Metascore? We Play The Switch Game "Better Than Zelda: Breath Of The Wild"

Chamver

You cannot compare a visual novel to an actual game, you just can't. How can anyone in their right mind say that a visual novel is better than any game, let alone one that is as critically adored as BoTW? It's freaking asinine and borderline insulting. A visual novel barely qualifies as a game as it is; it's an interactive book. IMHO. comparing it to a REAL game makes absolutely zero sense, period.

Re: Talking Point: amiibo Have Always Been Physical DLC, Skyward Sword HD Is No Different

Chamver

This is wrong in every conceivable way. Amiibo are toys with added incentive/functionality. You get a neat-looking statue of your favorite character, and an added bonus by having so useless, arbitrary functionality in certain games. They are not integral to the enjoyment of the game, and they are not required to play the full experience. They are bonuses, plain and simple. Stop acting as if you don't still get the same experience without them, because you do.
