It's also a $1200 device. Why are we still comparing the Switch to much more expensive devices? It makes no sense. Do you compare a 2017 Honda Civic to a 2021 Lamborghini?
$5,000? That's it? And they get to use your art for eternity? The Pokemon Company is worth BILLIONS, Pokemon is the most lucrative IP in the world, and all they could muster up is $5k? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Star Fox Zero definitely deserves a second shot. Without the controls, it was still a fun game with some great boss battles. Really, the only thing that ruined the game was the forced gamepad control. Otherwise, it was a well-made game with some really fun sections. I think it would do well on Switch.
Nintendo rumors have been more miss than hit this year. I'll believe this when it actually happens. Nintendo is too cheap and greedy to discount a top-selling item when it's still breaking sales records.
I really believe that this is going to be a Switch 2 launch game for 2022. Odyssey 2, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, and BotW 2 are all going to release in a single year and it will be glorious.
This game just continues to look absolutely amazing. It's crazy how the "metroid-like" genre is saturated at this point, and it seems like a new one comes out every few days, but it's a testament to Nintendo that people are still excited for a REAL Metroid game.
I really hate it when a game has great art design/direction and they waste it on these fugly ass 8-bit looking graphics. Seriously, SNES pixels should be the lowest any indie developer should shoot for these days. These NES-looking games are so freaking off-putting in 2021.
Nintendogs on Switch would have sold gangbusters during the quarantine, but successful Nintendo is lazy Nintendo. Their released schedule for the rest of the year proves that.
That really sucks. He said so many funny things in Warioware Gold, it was easily one of the highlights of the game. It won't keep me from getting this game, but that puts a real damper on this for me.
I mean, A Switch Camera would be awesome. They have Labo, so they can make a cardboard camera casing, they have the Pokemon Printer. They create software that's unique and it would sell itself.
I really don't understand how "crunch" happens. You have a project, you give your team a deadline to complete said project. If it isn't done by then, delay the project until you have a serviceable product. The main problem is companies who announce a games years before it's ready for release ( look at Cyberpunk). No game should be announced until it is maximum 6 months near completion, period. Until that changes, I don't see crunch ending anytime soon.
I want to hear from the person responsible for this monstrosity, the person who commissioned it, and the marketing team that okayed it. Seriously, what the hell were they thinking and how could those people been so off the mark? Rarely have I seen a cover so completely tone-deaf to everything that MM was about.
I will never understand the desire to make new things for archaic and obsolete hardware. It's like making a modern Abacus. There is nothing you can do to make it useful or necessary again, so why waste your time? Colossally useless.
And you guys wonder why MK9 has not even crossed Nintendo's minds? Why should they even bother at this point? They are selling a 4-year-old game at FULL PRICE and it's still a consistent best-seller every.single.month. No other game developer can say this about any of their games.
When this released on the DS back in the day, it was a big deal! No one really had cell phones and smart phones didn't exist, plus the internet was not something most people had access to either (computers were still an expensive novelty for most). This is kind of a strange but interesting piece of gaming history.
It took them 4 years to make a sequel to this game. 4 YEARS! I really don't understand modern gamers and their thirst for HD/4k/HDR games when they take this damn long to make.
No one asked for GB and GBC games. We wanted GBA and n64 games. Why doesn't Nintendo ever do what fans want? Most GB games are garbage now, especially games not made by Nintendo. It's like they never, ever understand what fans really want.
@Wavey84 It's so damn annoying, isn't it? Imagine it was the other way around and POC characters were made white for the movies. We wouldn't hear the end of it. I'm sick of the pandering and I wasn't even born in the U.S.
I just don't understand why they needed characters from RE 1-3 when this is the story of RE1. Why couldn't they just make a movie version of just the first game? It literally wrote itself. Hollywood always thinks it knows better when it comes to game films and almost always fails miserably.
Fan games are a waste of time for everyone involved. I get that some people are passionate about the properties, but they should be using their talents to make their own IP and not potentially tarnish someone else's. Stop using IP that don't belong to you and make your own.
The people who do this are so damn frustrating; they know that this type of stuff gets taken down as soon as Nintendo hears about it, so why not keep quiet until you are finished, have a quiet release and not let the whole world know until many people have already played it? But they're so thirsty for the attention/validation that they don't even think about stuff like that, do they? Such a waste.
Pokemon has a lot of problems (A LOT) but the graphics and art style are not very high on the list, I don't think. While this game looks great, will it be able to create a new franchise, endure almost 30 years and still be releasing games in 2050?
They really, REALLY need to trim the fat. There are some Pokemon that no one in their right minds likes, and they need to start saying that certain species have become "extinct". Screw the "fans" and the purists. 1,000 Pokemon is just excessive at this point.
Japan seems to be the only market that still cares about games being GAMES, not interactive movies or walking simulators. Everyone keeps thinking that AAA Sony games are what's driving the medium forward, but you look at a chart like this and you realize that the main draw about gaming is games you can play, not games you watch.
This dude is a prime example of what happens when you have enough talent to make a whole game on your own, but waste it by making fan games instead of original stuff. Dude should have made AM2R an original IP and had it be heavily inspired by Metroid 2. Seriously, if you are capable of making a game on your own, what's so hard in doing that?
I really like Level 5 but lately their decisions have been embarrassing at best and offensive at worst. They keep making these games as multi-media vehicles and failing every single time. I'm just over their crap. The fact that this game won't even get an Western release this year is another reason why I just don't care anymore.
I am absolutely in love with teh artistic direction of this game. Everything about it is so well done. People who say that Dread looks bad have ***** taste.
Aside from their dinosaur executives making horrible decisions, it's the share holders that are even worse for the company. People who don't even care about gaming making decisions on gaming? Yeah, enough of that.
Nintendo promised us a consolidated development structure now that it's only focusing on one console, and all we seem to get are the console games with none of the smaller titles we used to get on their portables. Nintendo does not need a new portable, since it can't even be bothered to released games consistently on Switch.
I was interested until I saw those screen shots. NOt interested in any game that is less than SNES pixel quality. This 8-bit NES/Atari/Intellivision trend needs to die ASAP.
Man, I've been waiting for this game for what seems like years now. I'm happy to see that it's still coming, but I'm really sick and tired of developers announcing games so damn early. Why is it so difficult to only announce games that will release in 6 months?
I don't know a single person who would rather play a PC game on a portable device than on an actual PC, so yeah, they really aren't going after the same audience as the Switch. I sure as hell wouldn't want to play RE8 on a 720p portable screen vs. my TV or my PC. LMAO
