Re: Editorial: Satoru Iwata Embodied The Playful Brilliance of Nintendo, and His Legacy Will Endure

@Olmectron Post #115 went a little bit overboard don't you think? Iwata was awesome yes, but the 2005 restructure which basically killed R&D1 and built up Miyamoto's EAD division was a horrible decision by Iwata imo. Idk if you're a fan of the 2D Metroids or the Wario Land games, but if you are you'd understand.
All in all though he was an awesome president and he will be missed... and if it's still too early to talk openly about his record as a president then I apologize.

@liveswired No offense, but Iwata made a lot of bad decisions also, so I don't think we should deify him.
Like, nobody ever mentions that he destroyed R&D1 which was Nintendo's greatest development studio - yes, even better than EAD imo. Their games might not have sold as well, but they satisfied their hardcore audience, which is something the new President seems to understand. It remains to be seen if his actions live up to his words tho...

Re: Feature: Why We're Still Playing... Super Metroid

@Classic603 What should be changed?? All the people who want an updated version for the 3DS want 2.5D graphics. If it's just getting remade for that reason alone they should at least wait for the NX, because it would look ugly as sin on the 3DS.
Also, after seeing how they kiddy-fied their only mature franchise with Federation Force, it would suck if one of the greatest games of all time gets the same treatment.

I'm one of the ppl who like the 2D Metroids wayyy more than the Prime series. It's just too bad that Sakamoto has no intention of making another one after all the rage about Other M which was actually a good game.

And please don't remake this game, it's almost perfect! Nobody needs a Super Metroid 3D that looks like ALBW or Federation Forces.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th October (Europe)

@gaming_24_7 True, but I thought you criticized the NOE department in your original post and I don't think NOE could decide on their own to let Europeans download whichever version of a game they want. I get your point though, just saying that that decision would have to be for every region.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th October (Europe)

@gaming_24_7 I know that it sucks, but there's not much NOE can do about 50Hz...at least Nintendo is optimizing their games unlike Sony. I downloaded Symphony of the Night a couple of months ago and it's so slow and the image is squashed.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Dismissal of Chris Prangar Highlights Issues With Company Culture

I felt really bad for him, but the more I think about it the more I feel he totally deserved it.
There is absolutely no reason for a Treehouse employee to go on a podcast, it is not their job to play the PR role. He had nothing to gain from his appearance except to garner some recognition among gamers and to appear interesting...his vanity got the better of him and he realized that too late.

Re: Negative Reception For Devil's Third Is Due To Poor Player Skill, Claims Tomonobu Itagaki

I kinda agree with the commenters here. This whole Devils Third affair is not making NintendoLife look great.
Yeah, the reviewer could be totally right that this game is a huge mess, but the attitude displayed by the reviewers on this site seems unprofessional to say the least. It's almost like they seem to enjoy bashing this game as seen in comments like "Well I didn't have much fun capturing the footage " in reply to a commenter who said this could still be fun.
