A solid presentation all around, a good number of games to keep my eye. Although Red Lantern was definitely the stand out title to me. A game about surviving the cold forests with a pack of doggos is exciting to me. Even as someone who has went almost entirely physical this generation, I can't wait to get my hands on this one.
This service seems to become worse and worse every day. I mean sure, the service is only 20 dollars, but it's getting to the point where I don't want to pay for it even at such a low price.
There are so many people who are asking why Nintendo hasn't explained more about the service, but I think it's because there isn't any thing else to explain. Other than the possibility of messaging, online chat, and dedicated servers, with only the servers being that important IMO, what else could they talk about?
And now we have this. I don't play Splatoon, but Pokemon? Really? Oh what, are some people going to duplicate legionaries? Well if that's the case, then everyone is getting punished for something only a few people have done.
My left Joy-Con is on the fritz and I'm not shelling out the money to fix/replace it. Not to mention that I dislike motion controls.
Also, I'm not the biggest fan of handheld gaming or touch controls. So...
A real shame too, as I wanted to see what all the praise for this game was, but I geuss it will just be a pass for me.
"Someone who understands the value of your software"
I don't know who, but this someone has overvalued nes games. I am in no way more interested in paying a subscription fee by 20 nes games with online or not.
Child of Morta and Everspace were the stand out titles here, but I wouldn't say I'm going to, without question, buy either of them. Although it is cool that Switch is getting Slay the Spire, it's a good fit.
The best part of this Spotlight? It was a prerecorded video and I could fast forward the parts/games that didn't interest me.
It isn't bad per se, but the F-zero franchise always had really good remixes (Big Blue, and all of the Mute City Versions) and I think they have kind of spoiled me.
This isn't even mentioning the remixes already announced for Smash Ultimate. Literally last week, an amazing remix of Snake Eater was released. We also have other greats such as City Trial, Brinstar Depths, and Vega's Stage. This track is kinda underwhelming in both regards TBH.
I'll be getting all the fighting I need from Blade Strangers, provided it doesn't turn out to be bad, and Smash Ultimate. When this game seems unpolished to me.
On a side note, do we know when Rivals of Aether is due out on Switch? I'd like to get my hands on that as well.
Super mixed on this game, but I think I'm leaning towards a skip. That 15GB download really hurts as I would have to buy an SD card making the, already high, price go up. (Because if I'm getting a SD card, I'll want a decent one) Not to mention that, as others said, the game looks more shooter than adventure.
The biggiest reason that I'm cautious about missing this game is the amount of the starfox additions that are made and sold. But if they sold digitally, then I wouldn't have to worry at all.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Just make Smash a service based game.
If Smash were to be rebooted, I know that i and many others would be extremely dissapointed. The first characters gone would be the third parties, which sucks cause Cloud, Sonic, and Snake are all awesome additions. I can even see Captain Falcon getting cut due to his irreverence for such a long time, which would be the most dissapointing to me. And then you'd have characters with a 100% chance of getting cut: Duck Hunt, ROB, all Echo Fighters, Toon and Young Link, Dr. Mario, Little Mac, and, possibly, Ness and Lucas.
If a reboot happens, Ultimate could likely become the new Melee in that people will prefer it to new entries in the franchise. I know it will for me anyway.
We are finally getting a Digimon game on the Switch! My day has been made!
Although, I am somewhat cautious about this game. The Cyber Sleuth games are amazing, but World was garbage, so I'll have to see what direction this game takes.
Sill, its Digimon on Switch! Can't help but feel some excitement.
Awesome! Ive always thought that SOT was the better of the two. Sure, the gameplay might be better, but the story and jokes of FB dont compare. I'll probaly bite if the price is right, but id love to have both South Park games physically.
I will get this sooner rather than later as this game is in a similar situation that Titanfall 2 was. It released between two bigger titles and got shafted as a result. While it wont become my favorite rpg, like how titanfall became my favorite fps, im sure this game will be enjoyable and a good addition to my collection.
I know that I'm in the minority here, but as someone who likes everything about this game excluding the combat, this would be really nice to have. Being able to skip the combat so I can enjoy the story and characters more easily will be awesome.
Seriously, the combat is the soul reason why I stopped playing the game in the first place. I just found it incredibly boring because it tended to dissolve into the same process for almost, if not, every fight.
Never really got the appeal of this series. Still, it's good to see it do so well. If they decide to bring Spyro over I will absolutely buy that in a heartbeat.
As a side note, this site's comment section never fails to entertain.
And, as per usual, the admins of Push Square are defending Sony for this trash because they are the market leader and have "no incentive" to do cross-play.
Who cares if Sony is the market leader? Why are we defending anti-consumerism? People always say that Microsoft and Nintendo would do the same if they were in the lead but why does that suddenly excuse Sony?
I guess the image of you favorite company is more important than what is best for consumers to some people. Somehow.
You know, I would honestly love to see Ultimate become the platform for all future Smash games. They add a new character or stage here and there, and when Nintendo has a new console, they port Ultimate with a big update.
Of all things to resurrect or bring back, not sure if this was the right choice.
To be fair, they said that they've got 2 Switch games to announce. Here's to hoping for a title of some quality, but knowing Konami, I wouldn't get my hopes up.
I thought they said something about showing us their expansive open world and the factions you could join, but they showed this instead. Maybe they'll show more this week?
Star Fox is a really cool addition though. Very interested.
I wouldn't rule a Switch version out, but I think the odds are, slightly, stacked against it. If it does happen, it certainly won't happen day and date. I'd love to be proven wrong of course.
I'm skeptical, but I'm also not tossing the possibility of this rumor completely out of the window.
Just because it's outlandish doesn't mean it can't happen, a lot of people are believing/hoping for Star Fox Grand Prix. The difference is, SFGP has some potential. This, on the other hand, seems, to me, like it could only sour the experience. But I will reserve judgement until I see some actual footage.
You know the worst part though? These games will be $60 EACH! If you want both versions you'll have to shell out $120. Unless of course they have some bundle, but I think it will likely be $100, which is still a third of the Switch's price.
"Get a look at Nintendo Switch games for 2018"
"Three days of Switch games"
Can we maybe stop complaining about the 3DS now? No? OK...
On a more serious note, I would speculate, but, I have a good feeling they will have a good number of surprises. I think either way, I will come out of E3 as a happy camper.
That said, the one thing a Guarantee we'll see at E3 is Retro. If not, I think it'll be time to start being concerned.
It's not the fact that it didn't have anything that interested me, besides Light Fall, but its incredibly short length. Where any of these big or important enough to have a showcase? IMO, no.
With a showcase comes expectations, and I don't think they had anything/enough to meet any set of them.
This is somewhat disappointing to me. As someone who hasn't played the Wii games, I was excited to see something akin to them. I really want to like the game, so I will give it a chance, but I'm not impressed by what's been shown.
That said, I have a great feeling about the game's story/writing.
I think we will finally see Fire Emblem and some other smaller ip like pikmin, but I won't be disappoint ed if it's just FE. I don't think this direct will be the second coming of Nintendo jesus, but I hope it is so every other comment isn't complaining about a lack of games. To be fair, Nintendo has been very quiet about what's in store, so the comments aren't completely unjustified.
Little bummed it's not sooner, but between Kirby and anything with Koei Tecmo's name on it, I'll live. The first half of 2018 isn't the best, but neither was the first half of 2017 to be honest. If anything it's time to prepare/recover my wallet!
First time I've seen footage of this game, and I think the two words I said while watching sums up how I feel. Ohhhhhhh Noooooo....Ohhhhh Noooo... I now Story of Seasons is the real Harvest Moon, buy I was hoping I could enjoy this one.
I had a good feeling this was going to happen. So happy I waited! Physical indie games are awesome to have in the collection. After announcements of Darkest Dungeon, and Brawlout of all things, getting physicals, I'm pleased to see "bigger" games (IMO) get similar treatment. That said, this "practice" is rather frustrating. I'm still waiting for physical Stardew Valley which I don't think has any reason to not be physical.
Never understood the love for this series, but good for those who do enjoy it if true. I don't really care too much for 3d platforms and I have Odyssey know. This is, and probably will remain. a skip for me.
Way too hyped foe just three. 1. Attack on Titan - The first game was too much fun to pass this. 2. Kirby - It's Kirby. Guaranteed enjoyment. 3. Fire Emblem - It's Fire Emblem 4. Hyrule Warriors - Don't care if I have it on WiiU. The faster I can drop it into a dumpster and light it on fire the better. 5. Ys 8 (Not Here, Eshop only?) - Had me at action RPG base builder. 6. No More Heroes - Anything touched by Marvelous is immediately made into gold. (It being NMH is the icing on top)
It was good. I enjoyed a lot of what they had to show. I'm so happy Hyrule Warriors is getting ported over. The Ys game is also interesting. WiiU ports being considered a "punishment" is ridiculous BTW.

All of the DLC that I've bought I consider to be a fair deal, even the Smash DLC (to be fair I didn't own Smash on the 3DS) And I can purchase the DLC if I want to, and I can skip it if I don't want to. I still haven't bought BOTW's DLC as I don't know what the Ballad of the Champions adds, and I probably won't buy M+RKB's DLC unless it adds more than story like characters (but they would have to playable from the start for me to care)
This is an extremely hard pass until Christmas because I have to prepare my wallet for early 2018, as I believe that it will try to actually murder my wallet. (Also I already have the game on PS4)

Re: Random: Bowsette Is Now A Thing Thanks To A Near-Endless Supply Of Nintendo Fan Art
Wow, this art is actually very cool. I would be totally down for making this an official character, but that will obviously never happen.
The one by Zumi in particular is outstanding. Love that one to bits.

Re: Chrom And Dark Samus Appear As Echo Fighters In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
I came here for salt generated by another Fire Emblem character, and can happily say that I've found some.
It's nice to see both of them in, although almost everyone predicted that these two would be echo fighters. We only need Shadow now!
