@DominionGamma Yup this is the downside to a cartridge based medium, GKC are a necessary evil otherwise we would have an N64 situation all over again just look at all the amazing ports Switch 2 already has now

Let's not act like Switch 1 wasn't full of unofficial GKC releases too, at least know it's pretty upfront what it is which is also why I find people calling them a "scam" pretty funny because they're literally telling what you're getting...

Besides most cartridges are outdated by the time they even release so at best on cart games are only saving you storage only.

@StarCollector It appears that some games need to be re-worked completely for a Switch 2 port hence why companies do that back route of Switch 2 upgrade like Skyrim and Stray by making that version discounted on the eshop instead of an upgrade pack

That's why some games have a separate Switch 2 version as opposed to Switch 2 Edition. Remember the Switch 2 Editions are basically DLC so carts for them need to be backwards compatible so if SF is completely re-done port obviously won't work in Switch 1

Now could and should Sega release this on a proper Switch 2 cart, yes but that is another story.

Never played OOT, got the 3DS game but been on my backlog but I got burned on Zelda playing BOTW and TOTK back to back so never got around to it guess I may aswell just wait now!

@Solabound Yes I was a bit confused on this aswell but on the PSN store it's like £12 to "buy" the game which includes a "free" 30 trial period so not a full game price at least. If the Switch pricing is the same it'll just basically be one paying £12 to trial the game for a month.

@Sonicka It's because if they want to sell a game physically it needs an NS2 version & tbf the actual upgrade pack is like half the price of these ones so I think it's fair.

The free upgrade games won't ever get a dedicated S2 physical

According to Serebii for Switch 2 Editions only physical is counted as digital sales count as Switch 1 sales, bit a weird but I guess it makes sense due to upgrade packs

@Kiz3000 Well unless the update is the same size as the GKC then it's negligible. Since the Switch 1 cart will be a GKC. Like with No Man's Sky the upgrade on the Switch 1 cart was only marginally less than downloading the Switch 2 version

Should have done this for base dex and then Hoopa for DLC dex. Needing both for just one feels like a missed opportunity...

MNS UK Store also confirms not GKC so I guess this soft confirms any 1st or 2nd party games 10gb or over will be on cart? As Pokopia came it at about 6gb & so far that is only 1st/2nd party game to be GKC

In UK Nintendo charged more for BOTW/TOTK Zelda Switch games then they did Pokémon so even though know Pokémon isn't Triple A

Already pre loaded both! Given how rare the genuine cartridges are glad way to play the games whilst preserving the cartridges, although sure in the future I'll be tempted to play them on GBA for the authentic re-experience!

Tbf Indiana being full cart not GKC is the most welcomed surprise. It's the newer game so makes sense more resources gonna be poured into that
