Mario Kart 8 is a decade old at this point. Nintendo really milked that game for everything it had.

I can’t remember when two covers of the same game were so vastly different. Neither one gives a good sense of what the game is about.

This will be the first 2D Mario game that won’t have a score counter though with a few caveats. Super Mario Bros 2 didn’t have one in the initial release or All Stars, but did have one in the Super Mario Advance port. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island didn’t have one either, but that was really a Yoshi game and not a Mario game.

The Genesis SF2 brings back memories of when the SNES, Genesis and PC Engine(!) versions of SF2:CE were all available for the Wii Virtual Console.

It’s weird that Warcraft was the highest grossing video game movie before SMB. Granted more than half of its gross was from China and only 10% was from the US.

It’s almost criminal that we haven’t gotten a Simpsons console game in 15 years considering how many Simpsons games we got on the NES and the SNES.

EA has had the Simpsons license since 2005. In that time, they have only released The Simpsons Game, a couple of Java mobile games and Tapped Out for iOS and Android. They haven’t released one since Tapped Out a decade ago. I wonder if they have anything else in development.

Though I play it, I really don’t see the point of spending money on the game. There are so many characters, karts and gliders that you would need to spend a ton of money to get them all and I really haven’t noticed that much a difference in how each one plays. The game is pretty repetitive as well since you will play the same track multiple times.

The real Atari hasn’t really existed since about 1983 or so. It’s been bought and sold a ton of times since then.

I suppose that this means we won’t be getting a new RBI game this year. There hasn’t been any news of a new game, their website redirects to the main MLB site and their social media channels haven’t been updated in a while.

You know that the first games we’re getting are Alleyway, Tennis and Baseball.

The North American box art is some of the worst box art I’ve ever seen. You know you have crappy box art when it’s unclear what the actual name of the game.

The NA cover art is a lie! There aren’t 96 levels in SMW, but 96 exits. SMB3 actually had more levels than SMW.

I had the Mickey Mouse egg catching G&W as a kid. I think it still might be at my parents house. It looks like it’s worth around $80.

@Goat_FromBOTW It was! It used live action movie footage for the gameplay. It’s considered a lost game since there are no surviving cabinets of the game. Here is a flyer for it.

@Bunkerneath The Turbo Express also had a tv tuner! Portable tv’s have fallen out of favor for mobile phones.

I’ll buy Lego DC Super Villians in six months when it’s half price.

Baseball, Tennis and Soccers are almost unplayable. The gameplay is so dated and sluggish.

I remember the original arcade version. It had a huge three monitor setup.

Time Soldiers was actually a favorite arcade game of mine when I was a kid.

Sweet, I’m gonna make an RPG where you have a random attack every step you take. The game will take 400+ hours to complete.

At this point, 2K should just build a new engine for the WWE games. The current one is almost 20 years old and is a Frankenstein's monster of code.

I remember those SNK LS-30 joysticks well. I hope that my favorite rotary joystick game, Time Soldiers, makes it to the Switch. It was originally made by Alpha Denshi, but SNK bought all their old IP.

@AxeltheBuizel Yeah, if the pricing of other Lego games are anything to go by, it should be half off in six months.

The bigger question is if Nintendo will release another dedicated handheld console. My guess is that they won't.

It's got a USB connection so hopefully someone figures out how to hack it and add more games.

Hopefully, they release more of the standalone controllers. It seems like Nintendo only released like five of them.
