@Tyranexx The only thing toxic about X under Musk these days are the usual insufferable far-left trolls.
Nintendo needs to focus on being a video game company first and foremost. Best not get distracted with all this all-in-one electronic home entertainment centre nonsense that has been in vogue for the last 25-to-30 years. Not having a dedicated web browser on the Switch was actually a blessing in disguise as the browsers on the 3DS were virtually unusable.
Safe to say that Paper Mario is now very much a live culture war battleground and that SOME Paper Mario fans are almost as toxic as those who love All Elite Wrestling and Michael Jackson.
Personally, I like Paper Mario (especially the first two games) but I prefer both the Mario & Luigi series and especially Super Mario RPG.
This remake is a disappointment for me, for a number of reasons. I'm glad I still have the GameCube original from back in the day and that I can play it on my black GameCube and Red Wii. Nintendo could have done a better job with this remake.
@Lemonyoshi Never beg. Stand up for yourself and your moral and philosophical convictions. I do! You'll never please everyone. Besides, it seems that Paper Mario has a surprisingly toxic fanbase considering all the hateful comments YouTuber Lady Decade has received for complaining about a number of issues surrounding this remake such as competing political agendas and the rip-off price in the US.
@Vyacheslav333 Yes, I'll admit it's stupid for such a small thing. SEGA did it in a vain attempt to broaden their appeal to a wider American audience. Ultimately, it was an inoffensive change and an interesting historical curio.
@Vyacheslav333 To me regional differences should be limited to things that make sense and that are non-invasive. A clear example of this is changing all the meatballs to hamburgers in the Western versions of Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Tweaking things to retro-con certain minor details in a series can be tolerable if done with care and attention and are kept to a minimal for legitimate reasons of creative narrative, so long as they don't stray into the realms of censorship.
I do appreciate how this version's English translation is more faithful to the GameCube Japanese original. Censorship is vile!
In fact, I would go as far as to say that I consider all Western versions of the Street Fighter franchise to be 'non-canon' because they swapped around the names of three of the four bosses from Street Fighter II. Also Nash is just a better name than Charlie.
I haven't forgotten what Playtonic did to JonTron, or the way the disparaged and refused to refunded refunded backers who were rightfully angered by their poor treatment of Mr. Jafari. I've boycotted them ever since. JonTron did nothing wrong!
Twitter/X has improved massively since Elon Musk took over, to the point that even Jack Dorsey endorsed Musk's leadership and policies earlier this week after stepping away from Blue Sky.
Nintendo's move is understandable, but it's a very minor deal in the greater scheme of things for both companies.
Speaking of Musk, I very much hope that he buys Hookshot Media next and injects with his very refreshing policies on free speech. Hookshot Media is crying out for such a revamp.
Looks like WB has done a Ubi Soft and Bud Light'd itself. This and the involvement of Sweet Baby in the recent Suicide Squad game have sealed their fate.
Not surprised. Sega of America should have focused more time on their core business, rather than engage with in the usual tiresome socio-political virtue signaling.
The Nintendo Focus will not outsell the Switch, but if Nintendo are still sufficiently on the ball then the Focus should still sell over 100 million units.
People who hate on Miyamoto are detestable. This is a man who has been underpaid for at least 40 years. He should have a net worth of at least hundreds of millions of dollars for the masses of IP he has created, but he signed it away to Nintendo because he found something far more valuable than just monetary join. Miyamoto has career and life fulfillment in an stimulating environment.
On the 3D side of things, I'd love another Skies of Arcadia and Valkyria Chronicles 5. I'd even be delighted with a remake of Valkyria Chronicles 3 for an international audience.
@rjejr I've just noticed the back, but why isn't the plastic red on the front like the Mario 3D World tablet. Sheer penny-pinching laziness on Nintendo's part.
Is it me, or does anyone else want an animated crossover film between Star Fox and Star Trek: Voyager? I ask this because in their promotional material for Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64) back in 1997, THE Games Ltd (Nintendo's UK distributer at the time) claimed that the game was set in the Delta Quadrant.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Needs More Characters Like Paper Mario's Vivian
@Slowie I keep meaning to get around to playing that.
My interest in the series started to wane during the 3DS/Wii U era.

This is easy, Gunstar Heroes 3 and Thunder Force 7. Preferably both would be in 2D.

As for the Arkham games, Asylum and City should be great if they are based on the Xbox 360 versions. I fear the port of Knight will be a disaster.
