Just a Nintendo rip off! Amazon even sneak a secret message on it too! If you push the right stick all the way to the left and take a peek under it you can clearly read “Now We own your soul”!
The time is right for Monster Hunter to join the roster (please don’t end up being Doom guy, Minecraft guy, or some western character,I’d rather have another fire emblem character than those)
I suppose those were Nintendo Gamecubes.
Anyway I was too busy having fun and listening to the wonderful rendition of the Super Mario Theme that plays during that section to notice that small detail.
3D land will always be number one for me. BTW I have been playing Sunshine (wich I was ready to hate but i am really enjoying it) for the first time and I’m impressed at how influential and ahead of its time that game was. Astro Bot Rescue Mission (one of the most revered games of 2019) borrows a lot from it.
Big developers should learn from these guys, we pay one of their games 0.99$ and you are hooked with a lot of free games (besides their quality, some of the, are pretty interesting, like Infini)
It looks that only the USA version of the game has that ugly cart. There are other versions in the american region with the ESRB stamp and the logo centered. And a different inside layout (it has sprites pictures on a white background) I don’t know wich one will I get, since the game hasn't arrive yet
I am interested in Ori and Hades (hoping that the local eshop in my country brings them in, since not all games, in fact just a very small fraction of them, are release here in the digital form, so I can pay them in local money, otherwise I will have to overpay them as usual) here all digital games payed in foreing currency has a 30% tax. I envy you, lucky chaps with real eshops.
The limited availability has made me buy the game twice (physical and digital) But since it will be the first time I will experience Sunshine and Galaxy it was an instant day one buy for me.
@Shift I used to think what was the case, but turns out that if you choose the option to start the game it tells you that the update is mandatory, and sends you to the update screen again (so the choice offered is no choice at all)
The only reason this insignificant update exists is to make those physical cartridges unplayable. Now it will always require to connect to the internet. I thought that maybe, just maybe, being a collection of old games, this one would be update free. Hence the cart will not become obsolete. So, thats it, no more physical games for me. Super Mario All Stars 3D Is the game that made me turn to digital.
@Amrulez to me the best versions of those games are the ones on Megadrive, so any megadrive emulator will do the job. (I really don’t know whats going on on the emulation front these days, Back in the day I used Picodrive and it worked beautifully)
The only ‘EA great experience” I care about is “Shadows of the Damned” and its not gonna make the cut.
A “Strike collection” would be nice (desert/ Jungle/ Urban /Nuclear and Soviet) but that is even more improbable.
@Trajan because I could be enjoying them for the fist time on my switch the way they are supposed to run (also my emulator back in the day was pretty crappy and sounded awful, SNES was the hardest console from the 16 bit era to emulate properly)
I had the same drift problem on my PS Vita 2000. And it was a known issue of the system. But it didn’t raise hell on the internet. Thank god the joycons are replacable, and the Split pad pro exists.
Having played only odyssey, 64 and 3D Land I gotta say that my favorite one is 3D Land. IMO Mario is better served in levels that in open world adventures. I think I will love 3D world. Maybe Galaxy or Sunshine will change my mind.
I know I am a minority, but this has to be one of the most overrated games of this generation. I played it for like 20 hours hoping to get good, but it was a pretty generic open world experience. (Great soundtrack, I give you that)
The orange and yellow border on the european one hurts my eyes. And the japanese one is nice, and the one I grew up with (our bootleg latin america cartridges were sometimes north american covers, sometimes japanese, most of the times, random nonsense mix up, or no cover at all) but there’s way too many text on it for my tastes. NA get my vote.
Octopath traveler, after a 1 year break (that battle music is sooo good) and Avicii Invector (amazing artist, I don know how I did not listen to him until now)
I still have this on my PS3 harddrive so I will pas on this until the eventual and inevitable Ubisoft sale. Glad they solve the legal issues and brought it back from digital limbo.
@Tandy255 yes I do understand that a collectors item will always be a seller, but As timeless as it is II think that SMB 1 is for nes is not the best choice.
The big problem I have with this device are the Old plain SMB 1 and 2 for the NES. (Can't justify to buy this games AGAIN) I would have loved a game and watch with super mario all stars SNES in it. That would be a day 1 pre order purchase. This one... I guess I can live without it.
A fun and enjoyable game that would have benefit a LOT by removing all the story and cutscenes and focus on arcade action missions. I hate that every game nowadays thinks that a Story is mandatory. Even if they have nothing interesting to tell.
“an acrylic art display, a paraglider blanket, and a metal charm“
None of those items seems entincing at all to me. I hope the west recieves the good old artbook, and a physical soundtrack (the one in the hyrule warriors OST is one of my favorite renditions of the zelda theme, and don’t get me started on the wonderful “Silent Guardians” theme)
The first game I have ever played in my life was the “fire” game and watch.(yes, I am that old) My dad coworker had one and lend it to my dad for one night only. My brothers did not pay much attention to it, but I was hooked. I did not sleep that night. Nowadays I am struggling in order to gain more stars in the “game and watch advance collection” in my DS lite (damn you Donkey Kong 3!!!)so I can unlock all the hidden games. That is the root of my addiction to videogames. I guess it’s all nintendo’s fault.
I have been a collector of physical games all my life, but since the PS4/Switch generation I only buy limited editions with some good physical bonus. (Or mario 3d collection for reasons) Most of the switch carts dont even work without a mandatory update so, its like the whole point of a Physical game gets invalidated.

Re: EA Is Considering Bringing EA Play And "More Great Experiences" To Switch
Dante’s Inferno is another good EA game that would never see a re-release.

Even if it is consumer unfriendly, its a genius move from nintendo in order to counter attack the unnecessary “next gen upgrade” from the competition.
