Super Mario 3D All-Stars is out today on Switch, and while some unlucky fans are feeling upset over pre-order problems and wonky-looking cartridges, Nintendo's busy building up the hype in every way possible.
The company has shared a sweet selection of screenshots from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, recreating classic moments from Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy inside the game. What better way to promote your new game than to combine it with one of the Switch's best-sellers?
Check these out:
They're pretty cool, right?

Guys, if you notice. Mario is not holding the tail of Bowser in the first image, and if he isn't holding his tail, then what is he holding? I wonder.
1996: So Long, Gay Bowser!
2017/2018/2020: So Long, Bisexual Bowser! (Or Bye Bi in 3D All Stars)
@NintendoKnight ‘So hung, King Bowser’ 🤔
If only SM3DAS looked this good...
@NintendoKnight his tiny koopa pickle
@NintendoKnight King Dong
@NintendoKnight so Small for A King Bowser...
Just got back from picking up my copy. Haven't really had a chance to play it yet, though, except for getting the first Shine Sprite in Super Mario Sunshine. And sadly, I have to go to work soon, and I'll be at work until late tonight, so I won't be able to play any more of the game today. And with my schedule the way it is this weekend, I probably won't be able to play much of it these next couple of days, either. =(
@HotGoomba YESSSSS! I'M DYING HAHAHA
Phew! we almost went 2 articles without a mention of Mario 3d
As always, these do some clever things. The use of Ptooie is ingenious
Excellent and creative photos.
@HotGoomba next release: "So long, Bowser organism that happens to not menstruate!"
Provided Charles Martinet is still around by then. 😆
Little did we know that the inclusion of Piranha Plant was part of a long term plan to set up this very photo shoot.
Due to Smash Bros' portrayal of Mario, he looks far too angry for these to be accurate. XD
I love the Smash photo mode
Got my copy yesterday after Amazon warned I might not receive it on launch day because of covid, but this time Amazon delivered. They can be funny with their day one delivery times sometimes.
Went straight into playing Galaxy for the first time, I skipped this on the Wii for some reason even though I did get the sequel. Loving it and think it looks great in HD. I wish the release wasn't so bare bones, some more extras would have been nice.
Showing the Mario head from Galaxy 2 in the background
GUYS... if we zoom in closer it's clearly the amount of ducks Nintendo gives about SMG2.
The Galaxy stage is Galaxy 2... oh well....
@Clammy
It is a new game after all. I would not be surprised if more than half the articles right now were about the game.
@Tommy-and-Timmy : yes, I’m sure they’re not contractually obliged to run x amount of ad.. i mean articles too!
@Clammy
60% of them are useful. It was interesting to read about things like “port or remaster”,”modded switch” and more.
why the heck are the wings backwards
@Tommy-and-Timmy : yeah, but do you ever get the feeling this site is only interested in covering Nintendo games?
@Clammy
It’s in the name. I do think that they do more 1st party stuff than 3rd, but it still has interesting things. They come up with so many unique quizzes, polls, reviews,etc. I ADORE box art brawl and the soapbox is always nice to read. Plus you have forums to read other people’s thoughts on topics on the website. AND they have an awesome YouTube channel led by the lovely person Alex is. It has so much it’s hard to get sick of it.
@Tommy-and-Timmy : I’m sorry. My fault. You’re taking me too literally. I was joking
@Arkay Post useless comments more.
Or better yet, accept the fact that your opinion is not the only one that matters.
@IpwnedU123 Can't hear ya over my enjoyment of this game.
Impressive. Most impressive.
@DoktorTotenKopf It sure is!
@Arkay Good, because I cannot hear you over your whining.
I like how they block Pit just to make the impression that Mario had the Wing cap power-up.
These are so precious.
❤️❤️🦇🦇
I want to recreate some iconic moments as well!
We all should do this and send them to Sakurai-Sama!
These screenshots look really cool. Not only do they replicate moments from three of Mario's best adventures, but they capture the moment really nicely as well. I also really like the camera angles as well.
@NintendoKnight
LMFAO, thanks for pointing that out.
I wish they'd put this level of effort into some decent bonus content for the collection.
Not even box art galleries and manual scans
