You need to give up on that. Get a PS5 (or a 3080) to play the big games coming (skipping a few $40/$60 ports on Switch pays for it)
Whenever something big (or Indie you want) finally makes it to Switch you play it. But you have a plan B. Make a "balance" of Indies and AAA by owning 2 hardware.
Or hope GeforceNOW, Shadow or Xcloud make it to Switch.
Nice. Loved ZBOTW, no regrets getting the collectors edition. ZBOTW2 CE will be right next to it on my shelf.
Just need a date!
Played Horizon Zero Dawn at home and ZBOTW on the GO back in 2017 Switch launch. The idea that it could happen again with ZBOTW2/Forbidden West in the PS5 launch is Amazing!
"it would have been cool if the DLC factor could have maybe waited at least a little while"
The game is from 2017, and the last DLC came out 16 months ago. Not sure why they would be ported in stages at this point. Not a secret it has tons of DLC.
Also, you need to be online to play. Doubt it is any different on Switch. I would check on that if an issue.
It was one of the Free games on the Epic store (and could include the full DLC pack for $24). Entertaining game.
@JimmySpades If someone is raving about something like GOT it would be logical they hoping for a big new experience on their handheld "2nd device" also. Not sure why you think their "preference in games" changes when they leave their homes. They are not playing rehashed old ports on their PS4/PC either!
If you been playing Animal crossing at home, you are set - great, good for you - write 200 comments on how great everything is. When that group is stuck in a Hotel in Boston for work (where everything is closed) they can play AC also. For the rest who been playing F12020, Nioh 2, TLOU2, GOT, Control at Home we are just sitting around wishing we were home (and now with another rehash on the horizon). And obvious Nintendo cant do 12 new AAA games a year, so then 3rd party cant release 7 months of rehash also.
@JimmySpades I am not joining in play hating a game because it is not coming to Switch... why I said "I'll check it out on PC Game Pass". You should reply to comments that people actually write.
@Casco Do you keep it on the dock even if you not using it for a long time?
Was not sure if something I should do (bad for the battery or something). I was unplugging the stand (also made a makeshift vent dust cover) but now I place it in my case and put it away if not using it for 30 days or more.
@JimmySpades That is like the new guy trying to sell me a hot dog for $30 because the guy down the street has it for $50. Just different levels of "not worth it".
Sound financial decision, is just shelving the Switch again and buying a new game on another console.
Looks like they copy the Xbox trapezoid layout for the buttons (The Switch makes a rectangle - thumbs are directly under the buttons). They also got rid of the iPhone home button cut out.
To me It looks more like what they been making for the past 5 years than a Switch controller.
@JaxonH Or Crisis. I do not know. I can understand if Ryza or Dragon Quest have a few slow downs on Switch - but this? Windows are just flat gradients. NPCs are just standing still, they not even walking around town like in the Naruto trilogy - I do not remember that bogging down like this.
@JaxonH That is the battle screen. It is what looks best by far, because character models looks like where they spent most of their time on.
It takes two sec in town to notice all the cuts. And my point was not if it looked "good enough" for a handheld game - but that even with all the low settings looking stuff, it still does not run well. Not sure if resolution would even fix it, this is not pushing the Switch to the limits. Something is just broken.
It runs like crap on Switch. I mean that is with little AA, poor textures and water that is just a blue blob.
Seemed decent to me for what I played. But I have zero need to play a broken game.. This went back to GameFly in a flash. Would have been upset if actually payed $60 for this.
Good Game. Been alternating this and Paper Mario on my commute. Fun if you like these types of games.
Also lets you manual save at any point (even in battles) if you set it in settings (or select "suspend" that saves at any point before closing the game out) So it is very on the GO friendly.
Fairy Tail had to have solid reviews to make it in July on my list. They are a bit all over the place (still get it on Switch, but as a rental later on) So nothing for me.
I have Origami king still. Probably break down and get Othercide on PC
Bought it - playing it. Not liking the battles (yep, they are not great) does not ruin the entire game for me. Still a pretty fun game as a whole, and laughed a bunch of times playing it. Always a good sign during a crap commute 👍
A Racer for Switch on the homepage, so was ready for disappointment... that did not take long 🙄
If you do not want to play F12020 like a sim, just go into settings and change them. Tons of options to make it into the racer you want to play if just for Story mode or local play.

Re: Surprise! Spiritfarer Launches On Nintendo Switch Today
It was also up on PC Game Pass. Had no idea what it was, guess I'll check it out.
Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced For Tuesday 18th August
Disco Elysium
GreedFall
Trouble Shooter
Plague Tale
Xcom Chimera Squad
Also an update on OTHERCIDE launch for Switch
Would be nice if announced on Switch. Have them on PC and feel they would translate well to Switch

Re: Turns Out Engine Software Isn't Bringing Killer7 To The Nintendo Switch
Now the Switch is not even guaranteed to get the "new" rehash ports.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 15th)
1. Avengers Beta
2. Othecide
3. F1 2020 (F1 Spain weekend 🏎)
Waiting for Captain Tsubasa on Switch.
Re: Nintendo Switch Was The Best-Selling Console In The US In July 2020
@Kainbrightside
yep, Home consoles are not going to do anything to handheld sales.
Just like the Switch did not slow down Home Consoles or PC Graphics cards.
Cloud Punk and CyberPunk 2077 do not compete with each other. 2 Different gamers, looking for different experiences/hardware.
Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Has The Best US Launch For The Series To Date, NPD Charts Reveal
Basically Nintendo keeping the Switch relevant.
Animal Crossing and Paper Mario only new games that matter on Switch. Everything else, you need a 2nd system.
Not surprised about Paper Mario. Trashed by A vocal minority that did not even play it (same as TLOU2)... glad most gamers tune them out.
Re: Soapbox: After Paper Mario: The Origami King, I Want More Comedy On Switch, Please
Origami King had me with a smile a few times on my commute.
Always a good thing on the way to work (or stuck in a Hotel middle of nowhere USA)

Done with Paper Mario, but have Othercide on GeforceNOW for my commute.
I am set for now. Waiting for Captain Tsubasa on Switch.
Re: FIFA Rival Pro Evolution Soccer Won't Be Making The Switch This Year
If you are a sports fan you need a Playstation, Xbox or PC. This is nothing new. Just beating a dead horse.
Re: Feature: Keeping It Physical In A Digital Age
Buy, sell, trade, give away, rent. 100% Physical on console.
I locked Cyberpunk 2077 for $43 digital on PC. That way I'll go Digital. I need a decent discount.
Re: Hori Reveals Three New Colours For Its Split Pad Pro Switch Controller
Love my Daemon X version. Larger grip so keeps my hamd from cramping up. And back buttons are great to have.
I use them 100% of the time on hand-held. Lets me keep the Joycons as a 2nd home controller for the littles ones when they visit.
Re: Switch Version Of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Potentially Leaked By Official Website
Would be great if Cold Steel IV and Crash 4 also had their October release on Switch. Make it an option for everyone not picking up Pikmin 3.
Re: Review: Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? - Infinite Combate - A Decent DanMachi Adaptation
@LEGEND_MARIOID FairyTail is not bad (had it for 5 days, it is not an 8, but near a 7 for sure)
It is just broken on Switch, why some reviews took a hit sub "7". Wait on a few patch.
Re: Sega Kicks Off Huge Nintendo Switch Sale, More Than 30 Games Discounted (Europe)
Valk4 is worth a run. Shining at £11 also - it is better than tons of the ports or Indies out on Switch that cost more than that. Finished both.

Re: Review: Megadimension Neptunia VII - A Nice Enough JRPG, But Far From Essential
@Carck Thanks for the correction. At that price cloud be worth the try for the super fans
Re: Image & Form's New Game Required Power The Switch Didn't Have, So It Did A Deal With Xbox
Que comments on how nobody cares about this anyway 🤣
Ill check it out on PC Game Pass. Most games announced lately not coming to the Switch. This is nothing new.
Re: Review: Megadimension Neptunia VII - A Nice Enough JRPG, But Far From Essential
Have it on PS4. Not a good game.
Another poorly optimized Switch port. They are just dumping these games at this point.
edit only $20.
Re: id Software Reveals The First Campaign Expansion For DOOM Eternal
Already a $30 game on PC. Why I rarely play the waiting game on Switch.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 8th)
Sent to Boston for a week, so no GOT this weekend.
1. Paper Mario (Switch)
2. Othercide (GeForce NOW)
3. F12020 (Shadow)
Re: Video: The Switch Is A Wii U Port Machine, And That's A Good Thing
So it is basically the same as the WiiU years. You wait 3-4 months to play the "new" WiiU game (on Switch) 😅🤣
You cant make this stuff up.

Re: Video: 12 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In August
Only Captain Tsubasa. If as big of a train wreck as Fairy Tail, my Switch is going back into the drawer after I finish Paper Mario.
Tag team with Shadow PC, until something big gets announced on Switch.
Re: Switch Software Sales Are Comfortably Beating The PS2's, The Best-Selling Console Of All Time
Yeah only difference is that on PS2 you have Sony, Konami, Square Enix, 2K, Bandai Namco selling multi million copies of games
On the other you have... Nintendo.
Obvious by that list, nobody else is selling 10 million copies of anything on Switch, Let alone 17 million.
Re: Talking Point: So, Where Does Switch Fit Into Sony And Microsoft's Next Gen Landscape?
As long as AAA 3rd party games keep not being able to run on Switch. It basically stays same as it is now.
A Nintendo handheld, same as when you owned a 3DS + a home console back in the day.
Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Version 1.0.1 Now Available - Fixes Game-Breaking Bug And Multiple Other Issues
Nice, can start back up again. And just in time because Fairy Tail ended up being a train wreck. So It is all I have.

Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe: 19 Glorious Screenshots, Box Art, File Size And More Details
Here we go... next 3 months trying to promote another rehash WiiU game as the next big Switch game in 2020. 🙄
Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Officially Announced For Switch, Includes All DLC And New Content
More old WiiU games. I bet it will be $60 also... moving on.
Re: Random: Some Of Microsoft's New 'Designed For Xbox' Controllers Look Pretty Familiar
@OorWullie I bought it right after Christmas 2015 for my new iPhone
https://www.tomsguide.com/us/gamevice-ios-controller,review-3276.html
Looks like they copy the Xbox trapezoid layout for the buttons (The Switch makes a rectangle - thumbs are directly under the buttons). They also got rid of the iPhone home button cut out.
To me It looks more like what they been making for the past 5 years than a Switch controller.
Re: Random: Some Of Microsoft's New 'Designed For Xbox' Controllers Look Pretty Familiar
"The Switch-like controller is called the Razer Kishi"
No it is not. It is made in Partnership with GameVice. The design is based on their iphone detachable controller from 2015 (it is in my closet)
There was no Switch in 2015 🤦♂️
Re: Soapbox: There's No Shame In Playing On Easy, Even If You're A Pro
Play it on whatever makes the $60 enjoyable and Fun.
Even when game designers think I should not have a choice on a single player game - That is what WeMod (PC) and Save Wizard (PS4) are for.
I get to overrule anyone “artistic vision” once I pay for it.

Re: UK Charts: Animal Crossing Remains Nintendo's Brightest Star As Switch Takes Four Of Top Ten
Not surprised - Ghost of Tsushima is an amazing game.
Fairy Tail runs awful on Switch. Decent RPG (if you like the Anime), but decided to return the rental. I'll play it on PC at some point once on sale.
Great to see Paper Mario and F12020 holding on 👍
Re: Platinum Says It's Still Interested In Developing A Wonderful 101 Sequel
Sure why not. PC version Of the remaster was fine, so had no issues with the Kickstarter campaign either.
But rather they focus on finishing Bayo3 and Babylon’s Fall.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 1st)
1. Ghost of Tsushima PS4
2. F1 2020 ( GBR!!! Weekend 🏁🏎🏎🏎) PC
3. Paper Mario - Switch
4. Fairy Tail - Switch

Re: Review: Carrion - A Shockingly Violent Metroidvania Where You're The End Boss
@JimmySpades The is new heights when not liking a game on PC is "anti Nintendo"... GPU is Nvidia, so I guess also "anti-nvidia" 🤔
Yeah, you must be feeling generous. Your narrative is more illogical than usual.

Obviously it does 😉

Re: Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York Gets A Haunting New Trailer
Easy pass, Coteries of New York was a snooze fest.
Just need a release date for Bloodlines 2
Re: Review: Carrion - A Shockingly Violent Metroidvania Where You're The End Boss
Glad this was up on PC Game Pass on Day 1
Was curious because of the cool trailer they did. But actual game is just not for me. Uninstalled after a few games
PC Game Pass is earning its subscription fees just with what I end up saving by trying out first 😀
Re: Megadimension Neptunia VII Celebrates Switch eShop Launch With A 20% Discount
Meh, tried finishing this like 3 times over the years. Always end up playing something else after a few hrs. Not a very good Neptunia game.
