@Strawblaze Geeta's team would have been okay if she sent out Glimmora first and had Kingambit as her signature Pokémon. Their respective Abilities work better that way. Unfortunately, with how the Elite Four was themed, that screwed Geeta over in the end.

Something tells me Caraway is going to be just as unlikable as Geeta was.

@DollyrotsFan1 Microsoft has shown that they don't care anymore. If they did, their Xbox consoles would be worth getting and they wouldn't be porting their games to other consoles instead. At the end of the day, Microsoft/Xbox did this to themselves.

@YoshiIsBest Yoshi is one of the minifigs that have been confirmed to be coming, alongside Mario, Luigi and a bigfig Bowser. It's also been confirmed that Yoshi's shell is removable so other minifigs can ride Yoshi.

@DollyrotsFan1 Again, it's HIGHLY doubtful since every other Xbox IP has already been ported to other consoles. If Microsoft REALLY wanted people to buy their new console, a new Halo game that is actually good and remains exclusive would be the way to do it. But since that's also never going to happen, this new console will be dead in the water.

@DollyrotsFan1 Spider-Man is exclusive to Playstation because it was developed by Insomniac, a Playstation owned developer. If it was developed by any other studio, it would have been multi-platform. At the end of the day, exclusives sell consoles and Xbox no longer has any exclusive games that would make people want to buy an Xbox. Call of Duty isn't exclusive, the Crash and Spyro games aren't exclusive, even Halo, their MAIN IP is no longer exclusive. Xbox as a whole has become irrelevant.

@DollyrotsFan1 Except they won't. Xbox pretty much stopped making console exclusive games since they've been porting their originally exclusive games to other consoles.

@DollyrotsFan1 Aside from the fact that is VERY unlikely, given Microsoft's history with the Rare IPs, what exactly makes you think it would be Xbox exclusive when Microsoft is so willing to port Halo of all IPs over to Playstation?

@DollyrotsFan1 The original Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie are on the Switch/Switch 2 and since Xbox won't be pushing any of their Rare properties, as well as rumors of Rare Replay being ported to other consoles outside of Xbox, there is still no reason to buy an Xbox console when you can just play those games on a Switch or Playstation. And it's still a waste of money if all you're going to use an Xbox for is streaming services.

You know, like how Nintendo has Mario, Pokémon, Zelda, etc. Xbox doesn't have that anymore since they're just porting Halo, Gears of War, and their other IPs over to Switch, Playstation, or PC. There's literally no reason to own an Xbox console anymore if there's no exclusives for it.

What's the point if they don't have any exclusive IPs to put on it?

Cactus Man has the best design, with Sweeper Woman being a close second. I'm hoping one of them win.

Speaking of Mega Man, the first game has been nominated for the World Video Game Hall of Fame this year. The public are allowed to vote every day until March 12 on which of the games nominated this year will be one of the finalists inducted in May.

Usually, a person has to actually DO something if they want to make money and Sega didn't really do anything with Angry Birds or anything else from Rovio. They just bought the company and that was pretty much it.

@Zeroo No one's angry on my end. If anything, I find it sad that you're praising a game with no staying power. As time goes on, people won't care about or remember Clair Obscure and move on to the next "big" game. Or if they do remember it, it won't be in a good light, much like The Last of Us II. The ONLY person here who seems to be angry, is you, and that's because you can't stand the idea that this AI made game isn't being praised by everyone. Maybe you're the one who should "touch grass" if that upsets you that much.

@Zeroo I understand that much like The Last of Us II and Baldur's Gate 3 from past GotYs, that Clair Obscure didn't deserve ANY of the awards they got and just shows why Geoff and his ego show should never be taken seriously. So have fun with the fake indie game made with AI by an ex-Ubisoft dev. Everyone else will be playing actual GOOD games.

@Zeroo You opened up the door when you brought up Hades 2 in the first place. If you didn't want Hades 2 to be used as a counterargument, you shouldn't have brought it up. Even then, it no longer matters. It was found out recently that your precious Clair Obscure devs used AI to make the game. So even if it was an indie game, it's no longer valid asa proper game because of that!

@Zeroo Yeah, you definitely don't know what indie games are if you think budget has nothing to do with it. No indie game should ever have the budget Clair Obscure had. And if you want to bring Hades 2 into this, at least that's a sequel, so any money going into it more than likely came from the sales of the first game. Where did Clair Obscure's $10 million budget come from?

@Zeroo You're the one proving that you don't know what an indie game is. You think that a studio putting out their first game automatically makes it an indie game, but that was never the case. UnderTale, Shovel Knight, A Hat in Time, and even Minecraft in the beginning, THOSE are indie games because they were made with next to nothing in terms of budget. Clare Obscure had a $10 million budget, the type of budget that long standing gaming companies would give to a video game. No one should be calling Clare Obscure an indie game in a serious manner, because at no point was it ever an indie game BECAUSE of its budget compared to ACTUAL indie titles.

@Strictlystyles Being blatant Sonic clones is the whole reason the Freedom Planet games were as popular as they were. That alone should tell you that as long as a game plays exactly like Sonic, the Sonic fandom WILL play it no matter what.

Coincidentally, the original Resident Evil game was just inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame today. Other inductees of the Class of 2024 included Asteroids, SimCity, Myst, and Ultima.

@FishyS There are other comments on the round up article also questioning why NL ignored the higher score reviews. This review just feels like someone didn't want to review this in the first place and based their review on the low score reviews from other sites.

So this is why the review round up article only showed low scoring reviews and none of the high scoring ones for Endless Ocean. It was to justify THIS review.

Did anyone else think this was going to be an Alice in Wonderland collab at first?

Why do I feel like votes WEREN'T counted and this list is just one person's opinion? Some of these characters (like Arthur Morgan and anyone from Baldur's Gate 3) have no business being on a list of video game icons because they are nowhere near that status.

Some of these characters should also not be on here because other characters are much more iconic. Why would Agent 47, Kazuma, and Ellie be on here over the likes of Ryu, Scorpion, and Doom Slayer? Hell, I'd say the likes of Claude Speed and Carmen Sandiego are more iconic than them. Joel alone would be more iconic and loved than Ellie is, at the very least.

And of course the order needs to changed. There is no way Mario and Pac-Man shouldn't be first and second respectively. Pikachu, Sonic, and Link should also be the third, fourth, and fifth spots.

Not going to lie. This is kinda underwhelming for the final batch of Spirits. I figured they were going to do something big, considering the wait after the first three batches (the first three came in rapid succession), but it looks like they were just waiting for Peach's new game to release instead.

@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot Phantasy Star hasn't even been nominated at any point yet. Does that game even qualify for such an honor; i.e. does it have icon status, longevity, geographical reach, and influence?

It should get in this year. Out of the nine previous years, only two of them did not induct a Nintendo game, BUT every year DID induct at least one game that has been represented in the Smash Bros. series in some form or another. Metroid will most likely get in for being a Nintendo game, while Resident Evil might get in since this is the third time it's been nominated (this is Metroid's second time).

If Metroid and Resident Evil do get in, I wonder what the other four games will be. The last time the Hall of Fame inducted six games at the same time was the second year, back in 2016. After that they've always only inducted four games at a time.

Wouldn't be the first time Pokémon foreshadowed the next game in some way.

Also, to go off topic for a moment, but the original Metroid game has been nominated for the World Video Game Hall of Fame this year.

Figured that since it is a Nintendo game and this is a Nintendo site, it would make sense to bring this to your attention.

I'm just waiting for the final batch of Spirits. Will they be based off of Nintendo games released after Ultimate finished (like Mario Wonder or Kirby Forgotten Land) or will we be getting more third-party spirits?

You know, for a company so desperate for that Japanese money that they're willing to put their games on the Switch and possibly the PS5 soon, you would think Microsoft would keep this team so they can put out Crash and Spyro games in Japan since those games (especially Crash) are popular over there.
