Re: Digital Foundry's 'Graphics Of The Year Awards' Nod To Some Switch 2 Beauties

I must admit I freely felt like a bit of a plonka that I'd put so much of my justification into getting a Switch 2 for Metroid Prime 4 when it's a Switch 1 title as well, but honestly I'm not really regretting it, it looks and runs so superbly at 120fps it's quite a treat.

I feel that, for games actually optimized properly for it, we'll see even more impressive games and/or ports on the Switch 2 in future.

Re: Mega Man Returns In 2027 With A "Brand-New Entry" For Switch And Switch 2

@MeloMan The thing about X9 is that the X series had a lot more ups and downs in terms of quality, which was never the case for the classic series. I imagine Capcom is scared of doing X9 because it doesn't want a repeat of X5, X6 and X7.

Even though X8 fixed some of the issues from the past games, I'm of the opinion that the game is still a significant step-down from the SNES era. That series needs to go back to the basics and ditch some of the "improvements" such as the ranking system that plagued the latter games. And make the games shorter. X8's search for the metals was cumbersome as was unlocking all the characters' parts in the shop and their ridiculous requirements. It became a slog. X1 was simple: heart tanks, sub tanks and armor parts. Keep it simple.

Re: Fire Emblem Shadows Makes Metacritic's "Worst Games Of 2025" List

@Alex79uk They are all trash and even if they're not then likely they are just trash port of those that are already good like Sonic and Rayman, those game are always good but they don't originate on mobile. Any game that had gacha, is free to play, had in-game ads, had micro-transaction, is a live service, was made with phone in mind, or had loot box are automatically trash by default.

a 4/10 being the 5th worst game of the year either speaks either to a huge increase in the standards of video game releases, or a reluctance by games media to even review truly terrible games to begin with.

The Nintendo mags of old would be littered with 10-40% scores simply because it was feasible back then to review every single game that hit the platform.

@DennisReynolds I was going to comment on something about them waiting for a more complete version, but you hit the nail on the head. It's a super dense game, and I completely forgot about how high the literal game ceiling is. I've been recently playing Horizon Forbidden West, a first party Sony game, and Avatar still manages to make flying truly feel like you're in the skies vs just hovering above the ground. Ubi did it a lot better on the same hardware.

Re: Video: Here's Your First Look At The Street Fighter Live-Action Movie, Due Out 2026

This trailer is the right feel for a movie like this. People need to realize that with a franchise like Street Fighter, any live action film adaptation needs to lean into the campiness and goofiness that is already present in the SF series. Does the series have some badass characters? Yes. Is the series about flashy martial arts fighting and street brawling? Yes. Does the series lore contain some comically absurd characters, storylines, and fighting moves? WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Street Fighter doesn't take itself too seriously as a franchise, so this movie should not take itself too seriously as well - Which we can see here it does not. I am loving the vibe of the trailer because it looks like it will remain faithful to the look and presentation of Street Fighter without trying too hard to make it feel realistic to real life. I want this to be over the top and embrace the craziness because the SF franchise does the same exact thing in the games.

Re: Divinity: Original Sin 2 Gets Surprise Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, And It's Out Now

I don¨t want to rain on any parade, but had expected a bit better for the Switch 2 version.

While the dialog and UI are much clearer now, the overall graphics and characters still look blurry on my 4K TV.

It’s nowhere near the sharpness and clarity on my PC with the Steam version.
So its barely any better than the original Switch version. The Switch 2 should be able to run this game at much higher res.

So it feels like a non effort by Larian and bit disappointing. This doesn’t bode well for any Baldur´s Gate 3 release for Switch 2.
