@Tyranexx I replayed SMG2 on Wii U a few years back and it held up exceptionally well. I use an upscaler for GCN games on Wii but Wii U with its built-in HDMI upscaler is so much more convenient for Wii games. The original Wiimote and Nunchuk control scheme is wonderful though I think I did read the Switch collection is better than All Stars in terms of the joycon controls. It's a really wonderful game and I'd like to replay it again one day...
I'll say it: I don't think the Demon Turf games are good platformers. Putting Bubsy in a game that plays like Demon Turf is like putting cat litter in cold porridge.
@ShadLink I think @BrazillianCara was just saying that they're not really into multiplayer games and would personally be more interested if Champions had a single player component. I don't think they're saying the game is lesser or bad because it's only multiplayer.
VAMPIRE CRAWLERS!
I still need to play the Pragmata demo, but after finishing a couple 100+ hour JRPGs, Crawlers will be just what I need until 007 drops.
Played the demo on PC. It's truly wonderful. The Switch 2 is going to be saved by games like this, this year. No new 3D Mario, no new Zelda, no new mainline Pokémmon, no multiplayer Splatoon, no new Animal Crossing. Honestly, this and Orbitals are the two games on Switch 2 I'm most looking forward to this year.
@Yoshi3@Solomon_Rambling Oof, that's my fault - apologies! I somehow missed the eight-hour mention in Ken's text before scheduling and added the "five(ish)-hour" mention after asking him if HLTB's five-hour estimate was realistic. 🙃
I've removed my addition now - eight hours is 'canon'!
At least the performance upgrade is free, unlike for Animal Crossing or Xenoblade X. You'd need a spreadsheet to keep track of which updates are paid, Nintendo's choices have been so arbitrary.
A discount is a discount, even if it is slight and there are better examples out there. This still isn't enough to make me bite on Switch 2 yet since I can play both Galaxies in other forms - I'm debating replaying Super Mario Galaxy 2 on my Wii U (Wii disc) for one thing - but I will be persuaded someday.
Yep, keeps on looking really promising and not just when it comes to its visuals - looking forward to seeing and hearing how it ends up being, but I'm definitely interested in it myself (in fact, unless it gets cancelled I've already preordered a physical copy on Amazon)!
@NatiaAdamo : The Switch 2 physical release of Fantasy Life was only released in Japan, was it not? That isn't necessarily indicative that all games from that publisher/developer will receive proper physical releases.
@Grumblevolcano I am thinking price hike is at least after the 1 year anniversary now (mid-June). I think they will hold as long as possible (and even eat the costs) to build the generation first. Loss consoles now could hurt game/accessory/theme park sales in future years.
By the way, why some keep on bringing up Steam as if only that had good deals when Deku Deals etc. and to a lesser extent also sales articles here on Nintendo Life prove that games get constantly and even significantly discounted on the eShop, too (less so when it comes to games by Nintendo, but those aren't on Steam in the first place anyway)?
Currently here in Italy and so most likely Europe in general there are 5841 games discounted according to Deku Deals and you can see several examples in the article about the latest European sale on this very site...
Hopefully for the next zelda game ganon himself from four swords make a return imagine fighting him in the ruins of hyrule castle with his mighty trident along with having the triforce in his possession fighting an epic battle between link and him.
I don't know why we still expect level-5 to deliver with their pitiful output over the past... Decade or so and the constant yapping about AI and crypto s*** (people also seem to have forgotten about the last ni no kuni literally being the worst kind of cashgrab ON TOP Of being some weird blockchain and nft thing)
Glad for those who'll get Switch 2 and the Galaxy games thanks to this and hopefully enjoy both - again, how I wish the focus were on Switch 2 and the games on it themselves instead of other aspects, especially starting prices (again, instead of being so fixed on those people could and should look/wait for discounts by using Deku Deals, Amazon trackers, discounted eShop cards etc.)...
@dojminLaughs then cries @SillyG Wasn't the Switch 2 version of Fantasy Life i on a cart? @DiamondJim It's not a spin-off, it's a bootleg version of it made by AI.
As mixed as I am about Level-5's decision making lately, I am looking forward to this presentation. It's also early enough in my day that I should be able to catch it live unless the runtime becomes long. Besides Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, I'm also looking forward to hopefully hearing more about DECAPOLICE and Holy Horror Mansion (though this one depends on how much they lean into generative AI).
@ShadLink Just to be clear, I'm not holding it against them if the game doesn't include any single player experience, but it is a fact that I won't play it nearly as much as I would otherwise.
@BrazillianCara Sure some have single player tutorials. Or an entire single player campaign (Splatoon). But with Pokémon you absolutely already have single player versions (ie. the rpg games). To me games like Splatoon are actually 2 games in one. And then with a lot of effort become a very good game that does both. But a game that is purely focused on multiplayer and designed to give the best multiplayer experience you can have with Pokémon (let's hope so) , I am happy they don't waste time developing a half baked single player mode.
Also it's a free to start game. Those usually don't have purely single player campaigns. Sure I get wanting a different game, but then just wait until that game is made.
As someone who largely uses Steam nowadays it’s funny to see whenever Nintendo does one of these “deals” once every blue moon and it’s just “save 5 dollars on botw with the purchase of 2 consoles”
It's been quite a while since Professor Layton and Decapolice were announced, and they've both gone through delays, so it would be good to finally get some more concrete details about those games.

@Joeynator3000 Not the exact same style, but it reminds me of Henry Hatsworth.

I still find the protagonist’s name somewhat weird, because it reminds me of caricatures which serve specific cliches.

At that point just make it another $499 bundle where the game is included for “free”.

Really makes me wonder if the next big Mario game is Galaxy related or if they just REALLY went all in on cross promoting for the movie.
