Re: Review: Library Of Ruina (Switch) - Potential Aplenty, But Just Doesn't Stack Up

@Solomon_Rambling While I do agree that some of the comments are incredibly unhinged and trolling, you'd be equally as mad if your favorite game was given a bad review just because the journalist was still in the tutorial of the game and the buildup phase of the story when they stopped.

I agree on some points, like how the UI is poorly designed and a desperate need for touchscreen compatibility on the switch, but calling the story bad because they haven't even gotten past the PROLOUGE is an insult to the creative team.

I couldnt even remember (AT FIRST -ed.) where this was from, but my brain still read it with Robin Williams' incredible delivery. 😂

(RIP Robin, he was one of us. ❤️)

(edit - I got a few replies informing me that it was from Aladdin, so I edited my wording a bit. 😂 thanks, y'all. I know it's Aladdin. ☺️👍)

I did not go into the Light for this.

This review is the epitome of the disease of the mind, were you on Enkephalin while writing this? Because I see no other way you could create something so antithetical to an actual review.

You are worse than Angela even if she is a machine at least she has a soul. The suffering that everyone in Lobotomy Corporation went through is nothing compared to the suffering that I feel just reading this, I will personally do the same thing I did to Binah to you just so I can figure out who told you to make this.

You are even more of a failure than Netzach, I have sent the red mist to your location she will be arriving within the hour to show you the error of your ways. Anyhow my wife is waiting for me to come back to her she wants help giving E.G.O to someone...

Wasn’t this a plan for the original Switch that got scrapped because it was a bad idea? Why ditch something that works perfectly fine just to be “different”? I know being different is Nintendo's thing but it’s harmed them in the past (i.e. the GameCube using mini-discs instead of regular DVDs as well as not having DVD functionality for it, which was a big reason people bought a PS2 or Xbox)

This game is utterly fantastic. It's definitely a specific genre, and if you're not a fan it may just not be for you, but if it happens to be up your alley I can guarantee you won't find a better experience elsewhere.

The story is fantastic and engaging, the characters are compelling, the gameplay is fun to puzzle out over the more than a hundred hours of content, and the presentation is overflowing with style. Every little menu and line displays a level of care and love that is rare to see so abundantly. The game features both Korean and Japanese VAs, and while I prefer the original version the JP voice-overs are not bad.

If you enjoy story-heavy games, turn-based deckbuilding, or cyberpunk-fantasy-eldritch dystopias, don't hesitate to check out Library of Ruina today.

If you have Steam, though, I would recommend that version instead. Workshop support opens up all the incredible designs from the modding community which has easily added hundreds more hours of content for me.

These comments are hilarious. Y’all completely forgot about MagSafe? Apple and third parties have been making magnetic cases, magnetic battery packs, magnetic PopSockets, and magnetic car phone holders for YEARS. Joy-Cons are much lighter than an iPhone. It’s completely possible for Nintendo to make magnetically secured Joy-Cons.

This "review" was so unbelievably pro-corporate and pro-capitalist it made my inner-self cringe during reading. I was so surprised by the utter audacity to post such govno and sranje on the Internet. Truly a horrendous analyzation of Library of Ruina's story and gameplay. I am surely not showing this to not a single one of the brave Yurodivy patriots on this site, not even Rodya. Remember Yurodivy patriots, never trust a game reviewer on the Internet. This is the gut-wrenching media they turn out. And as for you, author, I hope you corrode.

Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Switch Frame Rate Revealed

@PikminMarioKirby Not sure if you knew this, but Metroid Prime Remastered also uses all-new geometry. TTYD might be a more extensive reworking, but I'm not seeing a world of difference between that and MP. All we can really do at this point is speculate as to what's under the hood, of course.

As to capping the game at 30fps, yes, it was common for Japanese devs to hard-code all kinds of stuff and tie the game speed to the framerate. However, changing all of the timings is still far less work than rebuilding a game of that scale from scratch, and we've seen this demonstrated with the likes of Skyward Sword (remaster is 60fps), Super Mario 64 (fanmade decomp is 60fps), and Tales of Symphonia (PS2 port is 30fps, as this apparently took much less effort than optimizing the engine or tweaking the assets).

Additionally, some engines, like Ocarina of Time, start with a high base rate, and then skip frames to meet a target rate: i.e., it's 60fps internally, but set to the number "2" that tells it to skip 2 frames and draw 1 (resulting in its actual 20fps rate). I suspect that this makes games easier to downgrade from 60 to 30, rather than the other way around (it still takes effort!), but I lack the in-depth knowledge to confirm the extent of that.

This must be one of the funniest comment sections I've seen in a while, although it would be beneficial if you would include a sentence or two that could improve this horrid article that some of us have been (sadly) forced to read. I believe this article may have driven off potential new fans of Project Moon games which is a shame, and a good example as to why you should not judge a game purely based off of 5ish hours of gameplay. I do hope your future game "reviews" will be better than this idiocy you've put out, journalist. Shame on you.
