Re: Nintendo, Sony And Microsoft Band Together To Fight Tariffs On Video Game Consoles

wisdomsprince

China seems more a kin to a criminal organization. I'm glad someone is willing to throw caution to the wind and fight back. The video game companies are just as greedy as the others. "No way can we pay more than $5/hr for labor cost, that would kill our bottom line, we'd have to drastically raise the price." What a strawman argument and a phony choice. The price of gaming will not be raised for me because I won't pay your fake made up prices because you couldn't use slave labor. You're the ones who chose to put all your eggs in the Chinese basket. That's poor planning and not my problem. Now you can pay the cost of diversifying the labor force and if you try to do it by raising prices on your customers you'll lose our business and you can explain to your investors how you screwed up such a basic idea of not relying solely on Chinese thugs.

Re: The Next Update For Mario Tennis Aces Is Arriving This Week

I was hoping that ring mode would be available off line. You should also be able to adjust how long games are, up to 6 sets. Also, how many rackets so you get in a match should be completely configurable. Good updates but these things are all things I've been hoping they'd add. Here's hoping the court select screen has real character to it

@nado_san not sure why they don't give more options. Multiple sets, longer and shorter matches, choose the number of broken rackets broken before a loss. All of these should absolutely be options. Smash Bros. Is one of their most beloved franchises and look how configurable and option filled that game is. I wish they would pull some lessons from Sakurai. Offline tournaments would also be amazing!

Re: Miitomo Could Make This Year's Mii March The Biggest One Yet

wisdomsprince

If for no other reason miitomo will be good because it will be a way to communicate to other Wii U owners. Hopefully I can send a message to a wii u friend who is currently playing Splatoon and get some squad battles or private matches started much easier than now. Currently the best way is either NintendoLife Forum or posting something on miiverse and adding new friends to play with (eventhough you already have a tonne of people currently online playing). The same will be true, hopefully, for getting Smash fights going. Nintendo's current way of multiplayer management is horrid. This should make it easier (if you can do some of the things I'm assuming you can do)

Re: Nintendo Confirms Details for the Super Smash Bros. Direct

The DLC is way too expensive. Does each character add new events and challenges offline? I'm guessing they do not and that is more evidence, if true, that the DLC is overpriced. Hopefully they'll have a deal at some point, if not I'll probably stay DLC free because this type of nickel and diming shouldn't be supported. I think I saw that a bundle of characters (no stages) was almost $30 and that doesn't even include every character that will be in the game. The DLC may as well be called Smash 5 and sold for $80 at this rate. Also, I would much more appreciate a proper tournament mode, friend invites and a lag free experience online that any new characters and/or stages

Re: Feature: Our Top Wii U Games - Third Anniversary Edition

@Chubblings As for voice chat post match voice chat in the lobby during squad battles to discuss strategy and what when wrong/right in the last match would be more than enough for me. Also, if they could improve the message "C'mon and Booyah" could be 4 useful things or just add follow me, stay here,

Re: Fresh Nintendo Patent Shows Handheld Device With "Outward-Facing Linear Image Sensors"

wisdomsprince

All these articles about patents is proof positive that Nintendo has no real news to report so Nintendo sites are being relegated to looking for patents. Other companies have patents as well but their sites don 't dig through their patent garbage looking for news because they actually have news. As much as I love my wii U there just aren't enough improvements to the core system (the OS) and certainly not enough games and Nintendo doesn't provide enough information for a modern company. Too bad, so sad

Re: Guide: How to Get the Most Out of Super Smash Bros. Tourneys

wisdomsprince

@CrazyMetroid How about instead of seeing us as fans you see us as consumers and a major reason why Nintendo is a profitable company. It will not serve Nintendo to ignore their consumers for too long (as noted by the fact that 90million former consumers decided not to support the wii u after owning the wii)

Re: Guide: How to Get the Most Out of Super Smash Bros. Tourneys

wisdomsprince

@Wolfgabe Usually I could agree but don't promote it as a tournament when it's clearly not. This is not what anyone means when they think of a tournament. It's pretty much an improved online because now at least you can have custom matches with people but it's certainly not a tournament (other than the Regular ones that only Nintendo can create)

Re: Guide: How to Get the Most Out of Super Smash Bros. Tourneys

wisdomsprince

@ThomasBW84 Not just 1v1. Tourney mode should be exactly like "Regular Tourneys". Period. Why in the world would they think people wouldn't want to create their own regular tournaments? Nintendo is always defining their features by what they can't do. In a week from now we'll be talking about some obvious feature they left out of private Splatoon battles. I love Nintendo but far too often I'm wishing their games had the features of the other system with the gameplay and other benefits of being a Nintendo game.

Re: Guide: How to Get the Most Out of Super Smash Bros. Tourneys

I had this message in another thread but it's worth repeating:

The tournament mode truly does leave much to be desired. Basically tourney mode should be "Regular Tourneys" created by users. It's not that the other modes are horrible but without the ability to create Regular bracket based elimination tournaments this update is always going to be remembered for what you can't do. I don't know what goes on in those dev meetings. "Nah, people don't want to create regular tourneys. They'd rather wait 30 minutes for a Nintendo made tourney to start"
