I suspect this is what "project treasure" will be like. I think I see what Nintendo is doing with trying to build these communities in this way. More than just being an online game it's got real schedules associated to it as something embedded into the game (i.e., certain levels are playable during specific times, splashfest etc.) I like the idea but I'm not sure generation, "When I want it" is going to take to it.
I"m not sure why they stuck with 4v4 only. 2v2 would have been nice. 2v2v2v2 would have been amazing! even uneven teams 2v4 etc. Any theories as to why they didn't want to push other team sets?
@jjmesa16 I always hoped for more variety from the very beginning. 4v4, 2v2, 2v2v2v2, 3v3. Some sort of communication via gamepad (think NFL Plays). All of this is unlikely to happen.
I would like to see more customization similar to Smash. I.e., Change how many laps per race, timed races, battle modes where you can actually cut across the center; meaning real battle modes. I would also like the idea that has certain characters having exclusive access to certain items so who you choose changes the game play. BTW, can we all just agree that when it's Day one of a new DLC pack we by and large choose those tracks to play on. Always a few hold outs and as a result I've played baby park once online since release!
Finally, and maybe most importantly, game invites for online!
@Hotfusion Voice chat is also not the most important thing for me (although having it with friends seems to be something that should be an option). The bigger problem is getting a game started with friends is going to be a challenge. I know this because it's been a challenge for MK8 and Smash. No in game invites, no way to send a message while in the game (i.e., Nice, you just got on, let's get a game started). You can't do that without going to the "friends" app and hoping that it'll be read. It's really a horrible approach. This is not windows 95 where Multitasking hasn't been implemented yet. This game is focused on being an online game but I'm willing to guess that they are going to miss very important online "features" like invites
@Ic3pick039 I'd be happy if you can send a message that will show up on the other persons gamepad in game and game invites. I'm sorry but no game invites in all of these multilayer Nintendo game is a travesty.
Based on what I know of the game it's probably not worth the full price of games these days. I'll probably be really frustrated trying to get games started with friends just like Mario Kart and Smash (No Invites, no voice, no in game messages etc.). All that being said, I'll probably get it anyways, I haven't really gotten a new game in some time and since this is the only option for a few months....there you have it
There may be much more to the game that Nintendo hasn't revealed yet so my opinion could very well change
I doubt I'll pick this up but I'm also skeptical that this will be released for the Wii U. These games shouldn't get any attention on Nintendo sites until they have a wii u specific trailer or wii u gameplay. Period. Otherwise, they're just getting free advertisement for other systems for a game that will probably never see the light of day on the wii u. Same thing with Fast Racing incidentally
I guess I just don't get the difficulty in putting more Wii games on the eshop. It's basically a pointer to the wii virtual console that's already built into the system. It would be nice if they could put up the original Xenoblade, Skyword Sword, Other M and a bunch of other wii games I didn't know about until recently. The problem is they come out with new Virtual Console (wii, N64, DS), they support it for a month and then you don't hear from them again
Here is my only real problem with the VC support. When the wii was announced they had a game each week but when that was done they never did another one. The same will probably be true for N64 and DS. It should have continued support
I wonder how much cheaper the wii u could be if they just got rid of the mic and the video camera that they don't seem to use anyways. Voice chat to set up games in the lobby hopefully, also this game better have invites unlike Smash. Probably won't though. Oh Nintendo, Internet is not just a fad so may as well get used to it
@rjejr I think maybe they just gave up on this service. They'll probably phase it out. I'm almost at Platinum so i'll stop registering stuff when I get to it; This is now just a waste of my time
Awful, just awful. Oh well, at least Smash Bros is coming out on Friday. Add me as a friend on wii u and let's play (Almost Mario Kart and plenty more games)

Re: Mewtwo And Lucas Confirmed As Super Smash Bros. DLC Characters
Actually, Wonder pink would work well too
Re: Mewtwo And Lucas Confirmed As Super Smash Bros. DLC Characters
Wonder Black!, Wonder Blue, Wonder Red, Splatoon
Re: Nintendo Reveals the Final Club Nintendo Elite Rewards
I'm only considering Metroid Fusion and punch out. When you consider the price of both games being platinum really isn't a big deal
Re: Nintendo Reveals the Final Club Nintendo Elite Rewards
And to think I was hoping for the new Kirby game or even Mario Party
Re: Rumour: South African Retailer Lists Greninja, Jigglypuff and Splatoon amiibo for May Release
Why does Nintendo find it beneficial to hide this type of info for so long?

I fully expect Splatoon to gimp any social elements of the game (i.e. voice communication, a real lobby). If they don't I'll probably get it

Re: Video: This Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Launch Advert Will Fire You Up
The demo did it for me. I played it a ton and there was only 1 battle map and 5 characters...Who wants a match?
