Love the upcoming update. I would have hoped that they allowed for loading out within the lobby though. Also, seems like Smash is still the king of options. You should be able to choose time lengths, splatzone time length would also be nice.
I love Splatoon but I wish they would listen to fan feedback. There are a few (what I consider) minor things that would greatly improve the already amazing experience. From reading comments from around the forums and even miiverse I'm not alone
@Grumblevolcano i don't mind the unlocking mechanism but at this point It think a new mode is warranted. Also, upping the level from level 20 would be appreciated
Splatoon is an amazing game. I absolutely love it. If Batman was coming to the Wii U I most likely wouldn't buy it. That being said I wish it was coming to the wii u. It would be nice to know that there are many more options. I truly believe if you haven't played Splatoon you're missing out on something very special
@Shiryu that's a good reason to ensure that it does show up at the biggest conference for gamers (when all the worlds gamers are focused on you). Who will watch the Nintendo direct? Nintendo fans. Everyone would have seen this game at E3
I don't necessarily disagree but who cares what Reggie has to say about games. He doesn't seem to be a gamer anyways. After all he runs a company 16 hours a day. This guy is clueless
It's funny to me that Nintendo isn't even proud enough of Devil's Third & Fatal Frame to give them 30 seconds in the direct. I understand that you cater to a younger demographic but this is somewhat ridiculous
Correct me if im wrong but treehouse wont be showing tennis, ac party, devils third, cross fe, rio 2016 or fatal frame but they'll all be ready by march....uh huh
Noticed Devils third is conveniently missing. Not much for the wii u to be honest. Tennis...No games between May 29th and September 11th. Thats pretty noticeable
@A01 Not to mention nothing was said about Devil's Third but there was a video in Japanese about it a few days before E3. I thought they said it was going to be at E3
I was really hoping for a Sports game (Strikers). We got a sports game but it was TENNIS. Only golf would have been a worst choice. Oh well, at least I'm still interested in Smash, Splatoon & MK8.
Proof positive that Nintendo is clearly missing a good sports game in their collection. Splatoon, MK8 & Smash needed to have a sports game to mix it up and they didn't have one so they came up with this mess. To be fair I haven't played it but it doesn't have the wow factor that the aforementioned games have
I will not be nickel and dimed. I'll wait until they have a bundle for everything. That being said the Ryu character is quite unique and very interesting. Too bad
If Nintendo thinks that all these fighters are popular enough in the Nintendo community then why don't they start getting these fighters on the Wii U?!?!?!?
@TheAceofMystery I feel they are OK in splatzone to lay out a path at the beginning of the battle. I feel they should have a beacon as their sub weapons because they can move around the battle field really quickly placing them. Not sure of the top of my head what they do have now
@Jason723 Yup, I've noticed they are spreading the news throughout the week instead of holding off until e3. I guess I'm ok with that too. I just wish I knew that was the plan because I don't like seeing it as a spoiler but as something to look forward to
I'd rather they add a 2v2v2v2 mode for all game modes. Could be fun though a vastly different experience. Maybe they tested that and it didn't work out but it's something I wouldn't mind trying
Wii U should have party chat but I'm not so sure this game really needs voice chat. Certainly not when playing with random people and we switched every battle. I would be happy enough with being able to stay in the same room and switch weapons and sending miiverse messages to people and having them get it immediately (or maybe in inkopolis) without going to miiverse
I wouldn't mind a mode where weapons are laying around the world and you can pick them up and swap them at any time (Halo2esque). Same objective though, paint the world
@CreativeWelshman I don't really see how waves could fit this game. Maybe something more along the lines of filling the world with your pain in a certain amount of time with different obstacles in the way so you'll have to plan it out but even that seems like a stretch. It just doesn't feel like that type of game
I hope they come up with challenges (giving to us by the squid sisters). I.e, Top 10% of people to get the most skills or splatter the most pain will get access to a different weapon set combination or new clothing hats etc. What other modes would people like to see out of curiosity?
@EarthboundBenjy Project Cars said the same thing. All these crowd funding games are foolish in my opinion. If you want to make a game then take the risk to make it and you'll be rewarded if you make a good game. You don't make the potential customers take the risk for you. I've learned from experience, something meeting a stretch goal doesn't mean anything. Clearly not many of you have learned this lesson yet.
I see you guys haven't learned you lesson. This won't be coming to the Wii U and just because it crossed some imaginary threshold doesn't mean that you'll be playing on the Wii U.
@Technosphile I'm with you on the loadout in the lobby's. That's the one complaint I have. They should just give you 30 seconds or something to select your weapons for the match. I haven't gotten annoyed by the sisters yet though (maybe that will happen). It could be cool though. Now it's annoying because there is never any real news. It's just, "here are the two new maps" (There are only 5!). However, I can imagine that being quite an exciting time when there is actually real news. Breaking news, the person who gets the most kills in the next our will be rewarded a special costume! Or The top 10% in paint coverage will be rewarded a special item etc etc. Or the winner of the challenge is....I THINK that's what they might be going for with that but only time will tell
I wish people would stop feeding into this amiibo craze. They locked too much content behind 3 different amiibos in Splatoon (That's $40 ontop of an already $70 game before taxes here).
so in Canada Splatoon cost $70 Plus $40 for the 3 amiibo. Poor form Nintendo. I will buy the game but I'll be locked out of Content because I don't think that the content of this game is worth $110. I've been a huge backer of Nintendo this generation but if this trend continues I'll have to back out.
The impression I originally had about Amiibo's is you would basically have one per Nintendo character which could be used in a number of different games. What's it has turned into is each game comes with it's own Amiibo to unlock all of the content in the game. Mario Party was a clear example of this and this is the worth example yet because you require 3 different amiibos to unlock all of the content in the game. Very bad trend
I wish this would put an end to all the kickstarter/crowdfunding articles about so and so getting a Wii u stretch goal and all this foolishness, If you haven't seen gameplay for a Wii u game then it shouldn't really be mentioned on these sites. It's just free advertising and these companies add these "stretch goals" without ever having the intention of making the game for Wii u just so they can get the attention of Nintendo fans (most of which will have the system that it IS coming out for). Stop giving free advertising and see the problem disappear.
@hYdeks I'm not sure I get this logic. If you want Nintendo to "ditch being different" and conform to the standards of PS4 and XboxOne then why don't you just buy one of those? Is the point that you just want the Nintendo Label on your device? I'm sure you can just print one
@rjejr I'm pretty sure the same people who cover Square aren't the same people who cover Nintendo. Even if they are, Nintendo is what people will care about. Everyone wants to know what Nintendo is up to. That won't change because there is some competition. Kingdom Heart and Final Fantasy, is this what that company is known for? Great! I'm not concerned, they won't be able to match what Nintendo is doing. I'm much more interested in Nintendo and I venture to think so is everyone on this site
Case in point, look how excited people get when Nintendo announces an Announcement about when they will announce whatever they will announce at E3
@rjejr digital Events can be watched at anytime. I doesn't benefit Nintendo or anyone else if it's watched live or 3 hours later. Personally I care much more about Nintendo the Square so it's not even a question of what I'll be watching
Just looked it up and it seems like a bunch of games not just one. I think they'll modernize it, Smash, Mario Kart 8, Splatoon, Dr. Luigi. This is why I think you can get Smash tournaments by May 30th, because they'll setup a tournament in all these games to widdle down those who will play in the big one. Ok this is just my dream
Weirdly enough Nintendo seems to be the only gaming company that likes to have fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. The others should follow suit. We game to have fun

@Monado_III That will be deadly on the tower and bluefin (as they Eliter 3k already is)
Re: N-ZAP89 and Octobrush Weapons are Next Up in Splatoon Update
I'm curious about what they plan on doing with new gear. Will there be new attributes to them or just different looks?

Still have no idea what project robots is even though it was suppose to release early 2015. Nintendo is lost on how to market their products

I would have been happy if they announced twitch support. Relationship with Nintendo is like battered woman syndrome

All this amiibo stuff may mean the end of my relationship with Nintendo consoles. We'll see...

Not much to look forward to. Even the treehouse show is a drag this time around.
