Re: Review: Mario Kart World (Switch 2) - The Perfect Introduction To A New Console Generation

wasavic

Man.. I wish I could agree with that 9/10.

The game an absolute feast for the eyes, the new tracks feel fresh and cool, and characters are adorable. However, IMO the negatives significantly outnumber the positives.

-The "inbetween areas" that connect the tracks are dull as hell and that's where you spend most of your time. Was it that difficult to create a classic mode instead of shoving them down our throats?

-Free roam mode is a decent time killer, but they could have done so much more with it. Even if ot was just in terms of qol features like IDK, tracking process?

-Rubberbanding feels cheaper than ever, and with 24 racers, you are constantly being mario karted to the point that's not even a funny meme anymore. -Whatever happened to good driving giving you an edge?

-The new driving gimmicks feel pointless, since in most cases wall riding and grinding makes you go slower, and even if you nail amazing tricks, the rubberbanding will destroy you.

-You can barely hear its absolute banger ost over the sound effects and the car engine, and there are no sound options.

-Why did they get rid of 200cc?

Most of my issues with MKW could easily be patched, but this Nintendo we're talking about, and I'm not very hopeful...

Re: Poll: What's A Fair Price For The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack?

I'm sick of Nintendo affecting my humor in a negative way. What has always been a source of pure joy and bliss, is nowadays making me feel bitter more often than not. That is why I have decided to enjoy the games and forget about the rest, hoping they remember one day remember their fanbase is the most important thing they have, and that this day doesn't come too late.

@CammyUnofficial Not fans. People who gave it support and already paid for these games. I don't know. What I do know is that (amongst all the other things that I mentioned before) as a Wii U owner I felt kind of cheated when, during a certain period of time, a lot of the major releases where near-to-identical ports of games that I had already paid full price for and enjoyed once.

But this is just one of the many things I think they have done wrong, it's not to be singled out but observed as part of a group of mistakes.

@nocdaes I don't think it is, no. As a lifelong big N fan, I bought my Switch on day one and I have enjoyed and played the hell out of it. But Nintendo's policies and business practices have left much to be desired for quite a while now. Treating fans with strong disrespect in my opinion. A few things that bother me?
-You have to play for online multiplayer but some games, like Mario Maker 2, are unplayable.
-The UI of the console is stupidly bare bones. No folders, no option to sort your games... really? It's 2021 FFS.
-Game sharing between a Switch and a Switch lite is a nightmare.
-The whole thing with Mario 35. Why on earth did they have to make it a limited time experience?
-The fact that they never acknowledged those of us who supported the Wii U and had already paid full price for the games that where ported.

They REALLY don't deserve the fans they have and they don't deserve to have sold so many consoles.

Re: Best Metroid Games Of All Time

I started playing these games during last year's lock down and after having finished Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission I can say it has become very dear to me

Re: Poll: What's The Best 2D Sonic Game?

I wish I enjoyed these games. The classic sonic is one of my favourite mascots and as a kid I had a blast with sonic adventure on the Dreamcast. But I just don't. I must be playing them wrong

Re: Hideki Kamiya Shares Irritation At Speculation Over Bayonetta 3

I'm not a fan of his games at all, but what the .... did he expect? If you announce a game and you say next to nothing about it for 4 years, people are going to be frustrated and upset. Next time treat your fans with more respect.

Same thing goes for BotW "2" and MP 4, why do I need to know that a game is coming 4 years ahead of their release? In my opinion games should be announced like Metroid Dread.

Re: Talking Point: How Good Are You At Games?

I actually made it quite far in MK 8 online (until it became too repetitive), I am pretty decent at platformers and I usually master rhythm games. That being said, if a game has tough combat mechanics or boss fights (sekiro, ori, hollow knight, cuphead) I utterly suck at them :')
