The game an absolute feast for the eyes, the new tracks feel fresh and cool, and characters are adorable. However, IMO the negatives significantly outnumber the positives.
-The "inbetween areas" that connect the tracks are dull as hell and that's where you spend most of your time. Was it that difficult to create a classic mode instead of shoving them down our throats?
-Free roam mode is a decent time killer, but they could have done so much more with it. Even if ot was just in terms of qol features like IDK, tracking process?
-Rubberbanding feels cheaper than ever, and with 24 racers, you are constantly being mario karted to the point that's not even a funny meme anymore. -Whatever happened to good driving giving you an edge?
-The new driving gimmicks feel pointless, since in most cases wall riding and grinding makes you go slower, and even if you nail amazing tricks, the rubberbanding will destroy you.
-You can barely hear its absolute banger ost over the sound effects and the car engine, and there are no sound options.
-Why did they get rid of 200cc?
Most of my issues with MKW could easily be patched, but this Nintendo we're talking about, and I'm not very hopeful...
There are two things I'd love to see above anything else. -An underwater Zora capital to explore while diving (in a similar fashion to ABZU). -The inclusion of different epic weapons, linked to the different cultures of Hyrule, that don't break.
I'm against (in plain language) the constant sexualisation of female characters that has been so normalised especially in the world of video-games and manga-anime, yes.
I beg to differ. Fanservice (aka female sexualisation) is still very prevalent in most modern anime series and videogames, and as long as we keep brushing it off and normalising it things won't get any better. "Street Fighter II: the animated movie" is a lot of fun, but IMO Chun-Li's shower scene is cringy as hell no matter what the context was back then.
I haven't seen it and I won't see it. Ever since I stopped watching trailers for movies/series/video games I'm excited about, I enjoy them so much more
This game was such a let down. I thoroughly enjoyed it during the first 5h or so, but I was eventually defeated by the never-ending dialogue sequences.
Well, for now all they have is exclusive smoke. How long is it going to be until the game is released, 2-3 years? I am team Xbox, but all these studios they are acquiring won't make a difference if they fail to bring big exclusive games to their system.
@Rainbowjames same thing here. I my case it was because of the combat, which felt way too repetitive and after 2-3 hours of gameplay I just never went back to it.
I'm sick of Nintendo affecting my humor in a negative way. What has always been a source of pure joy and bliss, is nowadays making me feel bitter more often than not. That is why I have decided to enjoy the games and forget about the rest, hoping they remember one day remember their fanbase is the most important thing they have, and that this day doesn't come too late.
@Danrenfroe2016 You are right! It's a portable console and yet I've never felt safe carrying it with me. I have always wanted to get a switch lite but then again, since game sharing is that bad.. :')
@CammyUnofficial Not fans. People who gave it support and already paid for these games. I don't know. What I do know is that (amongst all the other things that I mentioned before) as a Wii U owner I felt kind of cheated when, during a certain period of time, a lot of the major releases where near-to-identical ports of games that I had already paid full price for and enjoyed once.
But this is just one of the many things I think they have done wrong, it's not to be singled out but observed as part of a group of mistakes.
@nocdaes I don't think it is, no. As a lifelong big N fan, I bought my Switch on day one and I have enjoyed and played the hell out of it. But Nintendo's policies and business practices have left much to be desired for quite a while now. Treating fans with strong disrespect in my opinion. A few things that bother me? -You have to play for online multiplayer but some games, like Mario Maker 2, are unplayable. -The UI of the console is stupidly bare bones. No folders, no option to sort your games... really? It's 2021 FFS. -Game sharing between a Switch and a Switch lite is a nightmare. -The whole thing with Mario 35. Why on earth did they have to make it a limited time experience? -The fact that they never acknowledged those of us who supported the Wii U and had already paid full price for the games that where ported.
They REALLY don't deserve the fans they have and they don't deserve to have sold so many consoles.
With over 250h put in the game, I'm not even close to "completion" (and I don't think I'll ever be). Games are something I try to experience organically, and obsessing over Korok Seeds etc isn't really my thing.
@Total_Weirdo You are right, but the fact that their concept of mobile gaming is (in this case, I actually liked Mario Run quite a bit) poor gaming experience and gatcha mechanics, feels quite disappointing...
I started playing these games during last year's lock down and after having finished Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission I can say it has become very dear to me
My question for the editors of this (otherwise amazing) site is: Is this really news? Isn't the media partially responsible of the increment of scalping culture, with its "constant" coverage of events like this one?
I wish I enjoyed these games. The classic sonic is one of my favourite mascots and as a kid I had a blast with sonic adventure on the Dreamcast. But I just don't. I must be playing them wrong
I'm not a fan of his games at all, but what the .... did he expect? If you announce a game and you say next to nothing about it for 4 years, people are going to be frustrated and upset. Next time treat your fans with more respect.
Same thing goes for BotW "2" and MP 4, why do I need to know that a game is coming 4 years ahead of their release? In my opinion games should be announced like Metroid Dread.
I actually made it quite far in MK 8 online (until it became too repetitive), I am pretty decent at platformers and I usually master rhythm games. That being said, if a game has tough combat mechanics or boss fights (sekiro, ori, hollow knight, cuphead) I utterly suck at them :')

Re: The Pathless Scores 'Exclusive Edition' Physical Release On Nintendo Switch
@GrandKaijuMaster20
I've also wanted to give it a try for quite a while, but that 7/10 score (when ABZU got a 9).. I guess I'll wait for a price drop.
Re: Video: With 100 Days To Go, What Do You Want To See In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Give Monolith the Pokemon games!
Re: Best Of 2022: Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie Is Still One Of The Greatest Adaptations Ever
@Maulbert Just what I was about to say. The sad thing is we can't even say anime (or even videogames) has left "fan service" behind.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Scarlet And Violet?
To each their own, I guess.
Re: Talking Point: Do You Name Your Pokémon?
Yep, it's the only way to experience them in my native language (Catalan) besides rom-hacks

Re: Talking Point: Which Zelda Game Should You Play First?
I have been asked a couple times about this and my answer is usually Wind Waker
Re: Poll: Do You Actually Want Switch Ports Of Wind Waker And Twilight Princess?
I really hope these rumours are wrong and we are getting some 2D zelda (remake or brand new) instead.

Not only am I not very interested in golf games, but with the "poor" reviews it has received... double pass.
