I would say no. The reason being that the card reader of the switch should be relatively cheap for Nintendo, way cheaper than a disc drive.

@SmaggTheSmug the original shantae is definitely clumsy for modern standards. And all the limitations of the gbc makes it hard to play. But it definitely was not a bad game. Many consider it a hidden gem late in the gbc life cycle. And it also reviewed favorable.

But yeah a remake would ve very welcome.

@GameOtaku personally i hate the ratings system since it leads to censorship, inconsistent/unfair ratings and completely ignore the danger of micro transactions/loot boxes. And makes it hard for adults to obtain certain games. But this is a matter of implementation, i do think that a rating system in principle is a good thing. Of course a responsible parent should do some research, but games can be pretty deceiving on a first glance, a rating system at least gives the parents an indication on first glance.

@Steelhead try the demo songs a few times. I suck also at rhythm games, but you do not have to be able to perfect them at extreme. I migrated from failing at easy to finishing most songs on hard. That is enough for me and i have a lot of fun. Of course you should like the music.

However, compared to older diva games it has no modes besides the rhythm game. Which may be a con to some players. And all songs are unlocked from the start.

Most likely i will buy a ps5 eventually, due to 3rd party exclusives or maybe not since most of the games i bought ny ps4 for are now available on pc. Regardless, i'm not really excited about the next generation. I barely noticed differences between the end of the ps3 Era and ps4. Furthermore, sonys recent behavior (censorship and anti customer practices) during the last years turn me off.

However, if the next nintendo system is bw-compatible and is again a hybrid, i'm very excited for that since the switch would gain a lot with more horsepower.

Ow i want a remake of holy war. I was not aware that it was do well receive.

It would love if Nintendo did a pre order scheme with more of their limited editions. Its always frustrating to get that stuff.

I backed the game but stopped playing the game due to its abysmal performance on the switch (unpatched). And seemingly it is still not great. And I will surely not double dip to try one of the better versions ( I reserve this for well made games). All in all very disappointing, I'm sure i would have liked the game.

I'm still wondering if i should play those games on the 3ds,or hope for a switch port.

Since many people say that you should play as many of the older games as possible for that series, I will most likely do it at pc unless they announce a port of the sky games.

@Sinister I'm not sure if this allowed that easy, since the older boxes are still in retail at that point. It could at least open the gate for refunds.

@Bobobiwan Well, I got the system on launch and my backlog is so big that I start to frogetting some games I have Getting the system late definitely has its advantages

I still have to play Maiden of Black Water. Regardless I would love a new entry or a port of a previous title. Preferrably both

I can not wait for Trials of Mana. I loved the original Seiken Densetsu 3 and the game seems to be very faithful to the original. I kind of prefer the fan translation to the official one, but that's nitpicking.

Otherwise nothing for me this month. Too bad p5 royal is ps 4 only, I'm not willing to double dip on the same platform for an enhanced version. And ff7 remake unlike Trials I'm very sceptical on that one.

I can not wait for this game. I loved the original and this sames to be a very faithful remake. To be honest I'm way more excited for trials of mana than the ff7 remake.

Hopefully, they do not screw it up like the secret of mana remake.

I would like to give sotn another go. I tried it once, but I hated the inverted castle, up until that point, the game was fantastic.

@JR150 I'm aware of that. But since fe already has many protagonists representing the franchise I think that choosing a more obscure character would benefit both franchises. Smash since it would bring more diversity and fe since it shows more what the characters have to offer. I mean piranha plant is hardly a main character of the Mario franchise.

I have no problems with fe characters. After all fe has a lot of characters, but why on earth has it always to be a lord/swordfighter. Fe has Lance users, axe users, bow users, mounted units, sorcerers, manaketes. At least they made byleth a weapon master.

@Heavyarms55 That is basically why I love the whole series. The protagonists are all very likable and they all have a relatable goal. Even the one where you actually are a princess (meruru), you can easily relate to her. And the crafting systems are fun.

I prefer lulua, but ryza is really good.

I like byleth but after the previous characters, this is a disappointment. Especially since fire emblem has so many interesting characters, ehy does it always have to be the lord?

Unless it is an carbon copy, there is nothing wrong with copying elements of a good game. I see it more as a compliment.

@GhostGeneration the dusk triology is well liked, but if you only know ryza, i would be careful. Ryza deviates from the usual atelier games. The first two dusk games also still had a time limit, which does not appeal to many people. But yeah I also lije ryza very much.

Nothing for me. I would like the dusk triology, but I find the price point insane.

@GhostGeneration the amount of hate of is from the amount of censorship. And it wasn't only weird underage stuff, rendering most of the censors unnecessary. Still the gameplay is the same and many people actually liked it.

A great game, but Fire Emblem Three Houses obliterates it in every aspect. On the other hand, w/o the success of Awakening, the series would have died and we would have no Three Houses (or Echoes).

I'm surprised that only 40 % own a second console. Especially with the success of the ps4.

Personally, I own a ps4, but at the moment it collects dust, since I do not like sonys behaviour in the last years and I don't have enough time to play all the games I want to play.

@JR150 at which point did I try to force my ideals on someone. You enjoy the game a lot and do not mind the edits and I'm perfectly fine with that I disagree with you on the 'minor' part, but it should be pretty easy for anyone here who might be bothered by it to check for themselves.

@JR150 I did not say that it is not an enjoyable game. I just disagreed with you saying it is only minor edits. And its more than those two things. E.g. The boss were the cleavage is obscured by an ugly black fog or the costume of the 'main' character. For the record I still bought the wii u Edition, since I wanted to support the wii u in general and especially jrpgs on it. I'm just sad that Nintendo /atlus did not take this perfect chance to remedy that issue.

@JR150 Minor edits? I would not call completely changing the background of a dungeon, missing dlc, etc among other things call minor edits.

@Heavyarms55 I understand your sentiment, but excluding f2p titles would not make the list fair. You would still have full price games competing with cgeap/heavily discounted games which is equally unfair in my opinion.

If you take a look at the reviews, death stranding is clearly divisive. People seem to either love or hate it. (even after ignoring the trolls on both sides) which is a good thing in my book. I di not like if games get watered down to appeal to everyone (unless it is optional, e.g. More difficulty levels)

I was not sure on getting it, since I am not a fallout fan, but if it comes to switch and is a decent port, I will give it a try.

@Klunk23 I agree. I'm all for fanservice games. And I enjoy games like Senran Kagura, but in Fire emblem, I find it annoying. With the sole exception of the Dark mage outfits like Tharja, where I find it fitting.

@Bunkerneath unless they completely mess it up, that will never happen. And even if, it might still sell (see fallout 76). Too many casuals are buying there annual fifa, cod, etc. That being said, i heard that people were pretty pleased with last year iteration (before the mtx).

Welk deserved, the ps4 was a way better offering than the xbox one or the wii u. Too bad Sony has done some bs the last months It will be interesting to see how nany units the switch is going to sale.

@Shiro28 I think I played until you got the bow legion. I'm not sure that this will help me. Especially not the easy mode, since I like it challenging. However, if the control start to annoy me, I find it hard to continue a game. Well maybe I will try it next year again. After all, I will agree that it is a good game. (but probably not for me)

@Shiro28 I can not really say. I have no real complaints, but the experience was not fun for me. One thing is probably the battle system. It has definitely a lot to offer. While I really enjoy playing games with complex mechanisms, for my action games I prefer simpler mechanisms. E. G. Bayonetta, this game has a LOT of different combos, but due too the large amount, they all felt the same for me. I really wanted to like that game, but I dropped it basically immediately after I received AI somnium files and I can not bring myself to return to it.

I dropped Astral Chain after a few hours. It seems Platinum Games are not for me. Since the same happened with Bayonetta. A shame I like basically everything they do with their games, but the whole package does not work for me

I do not really care for the fitness part, but the game actually looks fun. I might get it later depending on reviews, etc.

@Varkster We do not know if it is a goid technical port, or not. Since the game was running on the wii u, i do not expect any problems.

But due to the choice of simply using the western version, it is a 'bad' definitive version. At least for me. My hopes were that this game contain all costumes, all dlc and you can switch between western /Japanese altered scenes. On the other hand, if it had all this but was running like garbage, i would also not buy it.

@XBontendo I agree with most of your post, but this is not a game which will appeal to a typical western gamer. This game is clearly targeted at an audience which likes anime/jrpg. I really doubt that the more vocal people praising the changes, would have bought it anyway. Earthbound however, appeals to a wider audience even without the localization changes.

@TheLightSpirit well you are not wrong, but there are still a lot of games on the switch which are not censored. One of the reasons my ps4 collects dust at the moment. And regarding people who call other names, well just use the ignore list. There are enough nice people here on both side of the argument, which can hold a discussion.
