Brewster, gyroids and more Nintendo-themed items

I also like being able to experience these games I've never heard of before, and some are quite good. There are only a few Nintendo-produced titles I'm still waiting for (Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, StarTropics 2, Earthbound Beginnings). The other classics are mainly there. Missing third party classics are either bundled in other collections or won't come for licensing reasons. The main issue with NSO is that we need to move on to N64 and GBA.

This is all good. Just wondering how some of this stuff was able to get into the original version to begin with. Really looking forward to revisiting this again. I love how each game in the series brings something unique.

Most of these mobile titles are such slimmed down versions of the real thing that it's hard for me to stay with them that long. Plus, the swipe controls are an annoyance much of the time.

@DAHstroy Thanks, it was my first AC game too! Remained a daily AC player ever since. It really is my favorite series.

Wondering if they'll interview anybody from the Japanese side of things, the people that were really driving the company and making the decisions. Although Howard has a lot of great info.

What an incredible experience this was back in 1987. Hard to truly describe it. True exploration and figuring out how to navigate essentially a new genre. Adventure on the Atari 2600 was the closest thing to this I had played beforehand. That seemed like a magical experience but Zelda took it to a whole new level.

In a sense, I'm glad they remained true to the series and kept this game as hard as nails. But you also cringe going in, knowing your butt is about to get fried. Over and over.

Some of these games actually look fun to play. Will check them out. Really hoping for some good news tonight about new systems being added to NSO. Badly needed at this point. Switch is almost four years old.

Probably the Game Boy family or N64 coming to NSO. Additional Animal Crossing content. Zelda anniversary stuff. Some really unexpected game announcements. Possibly BOTW 2 trailer. Lots of indie games. Should be a really good Direct. We'll find out what they've been working on this whole time.

Definitely one of my favorite events so far and I thought the items were a lot better than in City Folk or New Leaf. The float is super cool.

I love New Horizons, but I agree we shouldn't have to wait at least a year to get staple things like Brewster, gyroids, etc. It's just too long. But the ability to actually fully customize your island, not just terraforming but putting items outside your house, is a big step forward for the series. That was a very limiting factor in previous entries. I am very grateful for that. The improved storage system and room design management is also a big improvement. I don't miss any of the other stores in New Leaf besides possibly Club LOL. I do miss Tortimer's Island. This game has a great base to it, just give us the extra content.

Yeah, you're right. It's gotta be March 10. I really miss the Nintendo-themed items. Hopefully other franchises make an appearance too besides Mario.

I would LOVE an arcade version of Final Fight. I think I see Mike Hagar in the cartoon picture, so it looks like we're in luck.

Never knew there was a different, first production cover that was considered a mistake. Very interesting. I can see why collectors would want to get their hands on that but that's a lot of dough.

I'm assuming Brewster is coming during the colder season, either November or December. Maybe January to have something for after the holidays. Gyroids should be a lock in some form. Kapp'n will likely come back to make use of the pier and take you to another island like Tortimer Island. Maybe that's where Tortimer makes his reappearance.

Really looking forward to this. I love October through December in Animal Crossing, with the seasonal changes and different events. Plus the decorating.

That North American box is one of my all-time favorites. Good memories there.

Happy to see Super Punch Out! Maybe Arm Wrestling will get released too? Definitely an obscure title few have played.

I'm definitely an Animal Crossing Superfan. I started with City Folk in 2009, which I played every day for four years until New Leaf came out. I played that every day for 22 months until my entire system crashed and all my data was lost. I then started a new town and played every day for another 22 months, when my system crashed again, losing everything. This second time was so brutal for me, I couldn't start again until the next entry came out. I love all the new things New Horizons brings to the series and will no doubt be playing years from now. Although I do hope Nintendo keeps to its statement of coming up with a cloud backup for the game. I will admit, I am nervous about losing everything again.

Sweet! I'm an American living in Israel, in the north. The only time I ever saw Nintendo products here was five years ago, at a mall in Haifa. It pains me to not see Nintendo represented along with Microsoft and Sony when I go into electronics stores here. Hopefully this will mark the beginning of a significant Nintendo presence throughout the country. Don't know when I'll be able to get down to this store, but I can't wait.

Bringing back the red tent! This would be great to play VS. Super Mario Bros. Real blast from the past.

Playing this on my Wii U and it's an absolute blast. Definitely the most fun I've had with Zelda since Ocarina of Time. The Wii U is now the ultimate Zelda machine. You can play all the console Zeldas on it (including HD remasters of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess) as well as some of the handheld versions. I still use my 3DS to play the N64 games, though.

I want to keep playing Miitomo but there's just not enough content to keep me coming back. The only thing I like is getting some cool outfits. There's still plenty of room for them to make this the app it needs to be.

That really was a special time to be a gamer. It was such a step up from the 2600 and brought so many new gaming experiences and awesome games. Games today are technically better but it's not as exciting an experience as it was back then.

I, for one, hope they keep the NX name. First reason - I think it's been popular in the gaming community and is a good transition away from the Wii era of Nintendo. Second, I find it hard to believe they'll come up with something that's better.

I assumed there had to be at least one original cabinet that was still out there. To see how great condition this is in however is amazing.

Haven't been this excited for a Kirby game since Epic Yarn. This one looks like it'll be even better.

So glad to see the Star Tropics games. One of the few Nintendo series I've never touched. Looks like an interesting play.

My favorite arcade games: Mortal Kombat 1 & 2, Killer Instinct, NBA Jam, TMNT, Simpsons, Rastan, Final Fight, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Mario Bros.

I was on Red and we started out OK but then got killed the rest of the way. Not surprised to see these results. Was still a lot of fun though and I did get to Champion.

When they released Earthbound Beginnings, it was pretty obvious to me that they would release Mother 3 at some point to complete the trilogy, even if they needed to start a translation from scratch. I do think this year is most likely, especially before the NX launches, as the attention then will be on the launch games and system, not VC games.

This was true within the general gaming community, since most movie-based games were terrible up until that time. People just didn't expect much out of it. And then people were blown away when they realized it wasn't just great but epic and revolutionary for the genre.

Still one of the most mind-blowing games I've played.

I already own 3D World and Rayman Legends. Still on the fence about Game & Wario.

Things are definitely looking up for NA VC this year. Maybe they were actually planning a big push for 2016. Let's hope the momentum continues.

Glad to finally see the zapper games come our way. I really enjoyed Hogan's Alley when I was young and never played Wild Gunman. It would be great to see all the Nintendo-made NES games get released so we could have a complete collection. Yes, even the ROB games.

Sheesh, I completely missed this EU release. Yet another VC game that hasn't come to NA. Love the series, so will get it if it comes my way. I remember playing G&W Zelda back in the day. Would love to play that again.

There will definitely be a sequel. In my opinion, they've barely fleshed out the possible ideas for Splatoon, so I'm hoping the next one will be a lot more expansive as they learn from the first one and have more time to make the second one. And probably a lot more resources will go into making the second one now that the franchise is a success.

Alex is awesome. It's been a real treat for Nintendo nuts like me to see him get his hands on such rare stuff and show it to everybody else. This is real Nintendo history. I can't wait to see his finished Sky Skipper cabinet after they've been "extinct" for so long. It almost feels like bringing the woolly mammoth back.

The VS. system version you see in the movie was never actually released, it was made specifically for the movie. However, Wild Gunman was in the PlayChoice-10 arcade machines.

Without question my favorite website of all time. Once I started coming here years ago I haven't felt a need to go anywhere else for Nintendo news. Absolutely superb site. I look forward to seeing what the new changes bring. Many well deserved congrats!!!
