@FonistofCruxis I actually think there's a good chance Nintendo will release Virtual Boy VC games at some point, especially after they've released most of their good GB/GBC/GB Advance games. So probably not within the next year but maybe sometime after that.
Skyrim pretty much cleaned house over here in the US when it came to video game awards so I'm surprised it didn't win anything at BAFTA. It just shows you how subjective tastes are in things, whether that be video games, music or films.
These could have been removed because of very low sales. As some have mentioned, Sonic was never popular in Japan. Sales of Sonic games are likely much higher in the West and because of that I'm not worried that they'll be removed here.
The graphical gap between the Wii U and the next Sony and Microsoft systems won't be anywhere near as large as the gap between the Wii and the PS3 and 360. The huge gap that exists now is because Nintendo purposefully chose to limit the Wii's power and they used technology that was already dated for the time while Microsoft and Sony used state-of-the-art technology. But this time Nintendo is using state-of-the-art technology for the Wii U so the next systems from Microsoft and Sony in a year or two won't be that dramatically more powerful than Nintendo's system. Plus, they'll all have the same resolutions.
I understand the rationale behind the third timeline and how it connects the games but I'm trying to understand if it's a purely hypothetical "what if" scenario (Link wasn't actually killed by Ganon but this is what would have happened if he had been...) or if a certain timesplit in OOT caused it, such as when Link traveled through time or was in the Chamber of Sages (which is outside of time, right?) I think either option works but I like better the idea of the third timeline actually having been created (within the OOT storyline) rather than the whole timeline being a hypothetical scenario.
Now that a third timeline (the "Link fails" one) has been confirmed we need a new game for it. The other timelines have been getting all the love for the last decade or so. I'd still love to see a sequel to Zelda 2.
No need to cry @FluttershyGuy! Evil still doesn't win in the third timeline starting scenario. Ganon is still defeated, it just isn't by Link.
Also, Link doesn't have to die in this scenario. He could have been too injured to continue fighting or something. Or maybe in the process of time traveling something goes wrong and he's not able to return back to Hyrule.
@Linkstrikesback makes a good point of how in the ALTTP storyline Ganon is sealed away by the sages without the help of Link. A lot of people forget that. Maybe the third timeline is the way Nintendo has chosen to reconcile the different accounts of the Imprisoning War found in ALTTP and OOT. Actually, I think it works pretty well.
Link didn't travel 7 years into the future after he got the master sword when he was 10 years old. He simply fell asleep in the sacred realm and awoke 7 years later when he was ready to wield the sword. Therefore, a timeline split wouldn't happen until he was 17 and he first traveled back in time to be young Link again to fulfill some quest in the game.
This is good news. Although it seems like you'll only be able to buy select games. It would be better if you could buy any game with them. Either way, these coins are now more valuable.
I really like the 3D effect of this game and think it adds a lot. It's not as amazing as in, say, Ocarina of Time 3D but I think it makes the game look a lot better with the backgrounds looking less stale and with different depths. Plus, these NES games look really good on the 3DS as we saw with the 10 NES ambassador games. If you really like Kirby's Adventure, I'd say definitely pick it up.
EGM's review is the only one I've read besides the GameSpot one that complains about the controls. All of the other reviews praise the controls to a great degree. GameSpot usually gives lower scores than the other review sites, regardless of the system. They''re pretty harsh critics over there. They give 10s about as often as Halley's Comet comes around.
Nintendo is nowhere near where Sega was 10 years ago before they had to leave the hardware business. It took six consecutive years of very poor console sales before Sega had to leave. Nintendo is just coming off of two very successful consoles and has a ton of cash. It's going to take many consecutive years of poor console sales before Nintendo has to leave the hardware business. In other words, it's not going to happen any time soon.
I do think we'll see a revival of the VC at some point, maybe when the Wii U gets released and Nintendo starts pushing digital downloads for that system. Nintendo's emphasis lately has been on the 3DS and getting that going.
Awesome. Looking great. Very busy time coming up with Super Mario 3D Land, Skyward Sword and Mario Kart 7 coming out. And hopefully the ten GBA ambassador games.
I absolutely loved the N64 version and knew this was probably great as well but never got around to buying it. Too much other stuff going on in my life at the time. This review may make me get this game as soon as I can. I think it'll come to GameCube VC at some point but that could be a number of years from now as GameCube VC hasn't even been announced yet. Better to get this now.
I think the console is awesome. There will be a lot of new, ingenious ways to play games with that controller. We just need good games that properly take advantage of the new technology. Nintendo needs to lead the way to show other developers what can be done. Also, all of the Nintendo franchises will look amazing in HD.
I really like the Wii U name. It's probably my favorite name for a video game system so far. Most of the other game system names throughout history have had nothing to them.

RCT AR cards would be sweet! I'd probably need to use one of those giant AR cards for the tracks I would be designing!

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. (3DS eShop / NES)
This game is as timeless as you get. I enjoy it just as much today as I did when it first came out over 25 years ago.
Re: Welcome to the New Look Nintendo Life!
What happened to everybody's flags?! Haha!!

Re: Review: Maru's Mission (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy)

Re: Review: 40-in-1 Explosive Megamix (DSiWare)
Whenever you see a game titled "whatever number"-in-one you know it sucks. And usually the higher the number the worse it is.
Re: Nintendo Download: 19th January 2012
So my dream of seeing Earthbound and Star Fox on VC is still alive...
Re: Review: 101 Pinball World (DSiWare)
These people need to be sent to gaming purgatory as soon as possible. It'll take many years of suffering to make penance for this horrible mess.
Re: Review: Zombii Attack (WiiWare)
People should be arrested for making games like this.
Re: Rumour: Wii U Heading for E3 Face-Off with PS4 and Xbox 720
Forget the hardware at E3, I'm mostly looking forward to seeing Reggie in action again.

Bullcrap. PETA only says this now because they realized how dumb this made them look. Anybody who's familiar with PETA knows what I'm talking about.

Re: Feature: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword in Motion
IGN just gave Skyward Sword a 10. Said it was the greatest Zelda game ever made. This game is looking more than epic right now.

Freakyforms looks like it could be really cool but I'll wait for the review first.
