I agree about the marketing. I finally saw a TV advert for Labo and it was awful. I wouldn't buy it based on that. The launch trailer was far more effective, and more in line with how it was pitched in Japan.
Also it's been sitting in boxes on a shelf here in the UK, where in Japan there have been displays with the models built up.
I'm still enjoying the product, but the EU marketing team need ot be recycled.

Let's see what will be selling a year from now. I think Labo will have a longer lasting appeal, once the usual critics have got bored. It's not overpriced compared with Lego and other toys that do similar things. It's a toy with educational elements, not a computer game.

Meanwhile Zeraora coming in a couple of months. Electric- check. Fangs-check. Claws - check. Horn - when it's pleased to see you.

@MailOrderNinja Nintendo recommend this for ages 6 and up. That's what the heck, Nintendo. If a 3 or 5 year old gets scared then it's not their fault.

Had this on preorder for many months. It was supposed to come out in April but got delayed.

UK schools of the 80s had BBC Micros and LOGO turtle robots. This is really similar and cool.
Sad that the idea of a Switch in school is seen as shocking, rather than armed guards and guns.

I should probably play past chapter 2 of D5 first... It's a great game but so sprawling. The last time I played D1 I played up until a point at which I needed to grind a little, unlocked the item world and never played the rest of the story.

Why would Japan rate a remake on an older style console over a concept playkit on the Switch? Culturally there's not really any reason.
The programming features on Labo look awesome (check out the robot tank or rubber-band guitar videos) and Japanese kids love DIY. Actually western kids do too, but in the west gaming marketting has been targeted at manchilds not real kids.

@Reyes The Switch cannot output to a TV without the dock. If you take it on holiday you need the bulky dock to connect it to the TV in the hotel room.

Sometimes Game's pricing is competitive. Not often, but often enough to justify them sticking around. Pre-owned being more expensive is a fault of many stored. CEX will sell FIFA 18 pre-owned for nearly double the price of Game.

@SwitchVogel At the very least, there was no stability in version 5.0. Otherwise there had been no need for 5.0.1. Stability ended a long, long time ago.

Nice. Unfortunately Nintendo UK Store has dropped the ball on this and it's not arriving today, and they aren't providing any solution to their mistake.
UPDATE: Customer Relations called me and said they'd escalate it but offered no compensation or download code and are refusing to discuss the matter until next week. I am very disappointed.

Well Nintendo UK store pre-order has not shown up in today's post and Customer Services are unable to do anything except escalate this to Customer Relations(!) who will reply at some point in the next 2-3 working days. That's not good enough, really.

I preordered form the official store, but it's been stuck in "The sender has advised us they're preparing your item." since yesterday. Looking doubtful it'll arrive on launch day.

I haven't seen season 2 of the anime yet, so spoilers are keeping me from this. It's a really great TV series.

FIFA 18 Switch had a massive price drop. As for that witch, I'm not sorry to see a rerelease drop out of the chart.

These days it's better to head direct to the Nintendo site for news in Europe. There's UK events announced, new releases and a decent Switch sale.

@NEStalgia It's old because it was announced at the same time as the sequel. When has that happened before? It's not as if you need to play DQB1 to enjoy DQB2. It's double-dipping built-in. All I said was that the review should have mentioned this. If you know the situation and you still want to buy both then fine. Like if the virtual console version of Pokémon Crystal had been announced at the same time as Gold and Silver then only hardcore fans would have bought Gold or Silver.
You sound like a strong fan of the game and that's fine. But you don't have to insult level-minded people that point out a very obvious chasm in the logic here. Save the insults and lamentations of what you think the industry has done to me.

@Alucard83 It's not a weird reaction at all. Investing at full price in software that is already out of date is weird. Announcing both DQB1 and DQB2 at the same time is weird.

This review fails to address the elephant of Dragonquest Builders 2 that is already announced and coming out later this summer. Why invest at this price in the first game, when the sequel is so close by?

Europe got updated too, but the editors of this site don't seem to keep an eye on that. Do you only react to press releases? This is supposed to be a UK focussed site!
