My friends never have their islands open. I don't blame them, because opening my island for them disables local multiplayer and several other functions central to how the game works. In other words, the limited multiplayer isn't the issue because I can't ever make use of it at all. The only thing that has worked is downloading community designs.

Well it does look like there's more to the Switch app. If you change to List view by pressing X then you can check the summary and get access to the Judge feature. Which is nice.

@buggysdad You can do multiple boxes or all of them at once. What I mean is the smallest size is 1 box. It just means you need ot organize which Pokémon you want to transfer into their own boxes or boxes in Bank first.
Within Home you can choose which boxes to transfer but you cannot select individual Pokémon from those boxes.

@itslukec As a one-off burn bridges to older games that's okay. I mean to keep both and pick and choose who to take to Sword/Shield and so this processes is fiddly in that use case. It does work though.

@gspro15198 Yes sort of. You can transfer box by box. So move the Pokémon you want into a new box (e.g. box 8) and transfer box 8 to Home.

Copying my mini review from the other thread as I think it's relevant to this discussion:
I think the app is a bit disappointing. Although it fulfils the basic goals within the published limitations I have two issues with it:
1) Transferring from Bank to Home is fiddly and slow. One box at a time and typing the code on the 3DS is a pain. There's no progress bar or notification when the process is complete and it can take a few minutes. You have to keep logging in to Home to see if it's ready.
2) You can only see stats for Pokémon that are within Home from the iOS app. That means no judging, browsing or trading the game boxes without first extracting a Pokémon from Sword/Shield to the Home boxes. The National Dex browser is rudimentary. As such the iOS app is a waste and only required because the Switch version is crippled.

Of note, I have an active Bank subscription but have been switched to the free trial. I am hoping this means that my paid subscription has paused and therefore been extended. I plan to retain Bank alongside Home Premium to use with the older games.

I'm keeping Bank so I can use it with the older games and getting Home Premium for when I want to trade or move the older critters to the new platform on an as needed basis. More money yes but my main worry is if they ever shut Bank down and cut off the older stuff.

Barely related but that joycon combo in the photo is how I rock my Switch. It requires mixing the out of the box set with the yellow pair add-on.

Doesn't work for me at all. Day 1 was fine, but Day 2 has been 404 Not Found all day.
Also their mynintendo discounts this month (and last month) are not showing all the games that their thumbnail suggests. For instance, I do not see a discount for Yo Kai Watch 3.

Queued 10 hours on saturday. Then found out that people in wheelchairs didn't have to queue at all, people were allowed t join the queues ahead of us and only half the tills were staffed. In short the wait times could be halved at the very least. But I did get what I wanted and the merch was good quality.

Queued 10 hours today. That was longer than it should have been because of a screw up for about 2 hours where security forgot about our queue and let people in ahead of us, because wheelchair-bound people got super fast tracked only waiting 30 minutes and because 6 tills only had up to 3 cashiers.
However, I did manage to get what I wanted, my daughter is tired but happy and I only missed a few minutes of my concert later that evening. The umbrella is super cool, and the merch is japanese quality. Not like the cheap tat in ToysRUs or Game.

I went this year. Unlike the Pokemon cafe this one is actually very tasty as well as cute.

No I will not edit that. The UK has seen too many shameful episodes of banana skins being thrown at black football players to intimidate and cause racist offence. I do believe that the writer did not intend this and so a simple edit would fix this unintended mistake.

Ummm throwing a banana at a black man seems quite racist to me. I don't think that's the metaphor the writer was hoping for, but it's the one we got.

Day -60 purchase for me. Sign me up for a deluxe bundle with useless stuff I don't care. The original made me buy a Wii U and I still play it, although not as much as my daughter does. Essential purchase.

Loved the TV series (although they didn't translate enough for the UK) but found the 3DS game a bit boring if wonderfully presented. Collected a bunch of the medals too, but they're not wrong about medal compatibility. It's a nightmare.

@Late I'm wrong. It is the 4th game. I was thinking of Aliens Ate my Babysitter which was the 6th one. I forget that Goodby Galaxy had 1 shareware and 1 paid episode - not 2.
