Re: Neonwall Becomes The Third Third-Party Switch Game To Support Labo VR

onex

@JayJ when you learn to ride a bike, do you start on a motorcycle, or do you start with a bicycle? The same applies to VR. Don't start with a space flight sim. That's why VR storefronts have intensity ratings for the software. Something like Astrobot does a great job of easing you into VR motion. Then you work your way up to Wipeout Omega or EVE, etc. Quest however, does a great job of not giving you motion sickness at all, mainly because your movement is 1:1.

@mesome713 Again, proving you have no clue what you're talking about. Oculus just extended support for Quest to PC with Oculus Link, added hand tracking, and is soon to release an Oasis-esque playground experience called Facebook Horizon. PSVR has reached over 5 million units sold, and the Valve Index is already selling out thanks to a new Half Life game on the way. 2020 is going to be huge for VR, and it will only get bigger. Oh, but keep peddling your unfounded opinion. 🙄

Re: Neonwall Becomes The Third Third-Party Switch Game To Support Labo VR

@mesome713 I've played my Quest for 3 hours straight without a single issue, though I did work up a sweat and had properly worked out my shoulders from virtual climbing. VR isn't as unsafe as you're for some odd reason led to believe. It's come a long way, and opening the door to brand new gaming experiences. It'll only get better and safer. Unfortunately, if Nintendo doesn't legit throw their hat into the pool with a proper piece of kit soon, they're going to be playing catch up for quite some time. Labo is a great proof of concept, but it is by no means safer than the higher end (read: just about everything) options out there.

Re: Ring Fit Adventure Player Shows Off His Healthy Transformation After One Month

One thing I notice about transformation articles or photos in general, is there will always be someone looking to reinforce their own poor lifestyle choices by tearing down others any way they can muster in the comments. It's pathetic.

With this photo in particular, posture goes a long way in making someone appear slimmer. RFA could have most assuredly played a role in improving this chap's posture thus making him look more fit than his 30 days before pic. At the very least, RFA deserves that credit. At most, it could have strengthened his muscles.

I consider my own weight training to be intermediate to advanced, and foolishly, I attempted the game on hard mode. After the 1st stage, I was exhausted! There is no doubt that RFA DOES work. But that all depends on the user's own amount of effort and consistency. And diet.

Btw, bravo to this fellow for putting himself out there. I hope to see more of these success stories.

Re: The Game Awards GOTY Is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

So happy the spiritual successor to TENCHU took GOTY. All of these Souls comparisons... Meh. You disappointed Souls fans had your expectations out of whack. This is more TENCHU than Dark Souls. For one, the controls are the tightest of any From Soft game ever, so you're not constantly fighting with the game itself. Superb soundtrack, beautiful environments.. Fully deserved GOTY. Now I'm looking forward to Ghost Of Tsushima. I love stealth games with grappling hooks. 😃

Re: Ring Fit Adventure File Size Revealed, Download Code Version Also Available

@Godlike_Virus You know, I know you probably can't grasp the concept, especially considering your bias against mindfulness, but some companies like to make a return on investment into their R&D. Individually, these items are useless. However, together they provide a brand new experience you can't get anywhere but on the Switch. Pilates rings already exist. This ring has further technologies exclusive to this game. So please stop being so blatantly ignorant before you're ultimately commenting with zero readers.

Re: Poll: Have Your Joy-Con Been Drifting?

Spawn Wave Media broke it down in a video. Over time, the material under the stick begins to wear away, and eventually the sensor can't detect that the stick moved back to default thanks to this. I replaced my stick with a kit for 11 bucks on Amazon. Works perfectly.

Re: Sega Will Reduce Number Of New Digital Releases After Facing $17 Million Loss

onex

They've said the same crap before. Focus on existing IPs. And what do they do? Continue putting out sub-par Sonic games, and beat Yakuza into the ground. Ports of Jet Set Radio and JSRF would sell gangbusters. They could also do an AM2 arcade collection. VF2, Fighting Vipers, Daytona USA, Super GT, Sega Rally. That would sell gangbusters. A Panzer Dragoon collection I imagine would also do wonderfully. They're just sitting on a goldmine, and I'm afraid we'll never see these come to fruition. For shame.

Re: Random: Experience The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild With PlayStation VR

onex

@Heavyarms55 Yes, you ARE willfully ignorant, as you CONTINUE to ignore my probes about your experiences, then proceed to claim people are triggered(which is offensive to those with actual mental symptoms of such) all the while dismissing everything else presented your way, except select comments which don't require you to actually debate the topic in a respectful manner. You're a lost cause it appears. Ta ta.

Re: Random: Experience The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild With PlayStation VR

onex

@Heavyarms55 How many screens do you think you interact with on the daily? You're staring at a screen to read these comments. In order to play VIDEO games, be it traditional console gaming, PC, mobile or VR - even AR - there is a screen involved. What in the world are you talking about otherwise?

I was bitten by the VR bug hard recently. Astro Bot is an amazing experience one can only know about from having played on PSVR. I love me some Mario, but AB is a serious contender for one of the best platformers I've ever played. I just finished Moss today, and there's nothing quite like it. You are THERE, sitting in the woods while this little mouse is running around kicking butt. You can move around and look about from every angle, it is truly exciting tech. And that's not even utilizing the Move controllers, which adds even more immersion with individual hand tracking. So I don't know what VR apps you've tried, but your knowledge seems very limited, thus you come off as supremely ignorant.

You keep saying how much you hate VR, but let me ask WHAT of VR have you actually tried?

Re: Nintendo Announces Mario Kart Tour Closed Beta Test For Android Devices

For those complaining about the gmail thing, this beta is most likely using Google servers. I doubt the same requirements will apply once the full game goes live this summer, but for the beta, this requirement probably makes it easier for them, and doubly serves as a purpose to weed out a massive influx of applicants.
Judging from this ho-hum comment section, I'd say it's working.

Re: Iron Snout Brings "Fast-Paced Bacon-Flavoured Combat" To Switch This Week

onex

I downloaded the demo on PC years ago when I went on a demo downloading spree, but never actually played it. After watching this trailer, it makes me want to go home and delete it. I can't stand this sit-in-place-and-attack mechanic some of these indie devs are flaunting. It reeks of lazy coding and game design. Learn to code your character for basic movement, or don't send your game to market.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 13th)

onex

More Labo VR here. The Blaster is a really cool little piece of tech! I brought it to a friend's house and let everyone there try it out. They all had a blast playing the alien shooting game, and I dipped my toes in the VR Garage.. It was so overwhelming, I'm Going to have another look when I wake up. Overall, it's been really fun, and I hope Nintendo truly runs with this idea, adding more support. I can't wait to pick up the camera/elephant pack next!

Re: Video: 13 Amazing New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In The Month Of April

onex

@Gen0neD Hey thanks for that in depth reply! To be honest, I never got into Dark Souls as the controls put me off. The game itself isn't difficult, but the controls are so clunky which makes it pseudo-difficult. Sekiro on the other hand has near immaculate controls and actual difficulty, which I can get behind.

That tangent aside, I'll be adding Dragon's Dogma to my wish list, and wait for a sale. Too many games, so little time and money! But your experience with it does have me intrigued to give it a whirl when those things allow.
