Soccer is seasonal while Zelda is timeless, it'll be back on top. Nice to see Ghostbusters on the list, I'm waiting for my hard copy to arrive... today I think.
Donkey Kong was the first Nintendo game I ever played and is still one my all-time favorites. Thank you John J Kirby, Jr. for being to Nintendo what Mario was to Pauline. β€ Rest in Peace β€
It's about time Nintendo revisits Super Mario Bros 2 (USA), either as a remake or a sequel. They don't have to see it as the NEW 2D Mario series, just a spinoff. I love classic style 2D Mario, but I also loved this unique take on Mario. If the Cuphead devs really do want to make a Nintendo game I think this one would be right up their alley. THEN maybe Nintendo can commission them to do that Zelda 2 remake they expressed interest in. Also, SMB2 sort of had a "metroidvania lite" vibe to it, maybe they could expand upon that aspect of the game... but more like Metroid than Castlevania. Oh btw, I'm all for that hypothetical SMB Super Show version of 2D Mario, I don't know how possible it would be but one can dream...
HOLY WOW this looks so GOOD! Nintendo needs to hire this guy right now and provide resources to develop this as an official Nintendo game. Even if someone has never seen the cartoon, or didn't like it, I'm sure they would love the stylized look of this game. If there can be so many different styles of Legend of Zelda, why not Mario too?
@Angelic_Lapras_King Oh yeah, I totally forgot about Episode One Racer! It was EXCELLENT. Well, add that one to the wish list. Maybe SW Racer Revenge as well.
This game sounds so excellent! I haven't played it yet as I'm still waiting for my hard copy preorder but I am so looking forward to it after this great review!
There's a lot of classic SW games that may come to Switch, some great and some not so great. I'd be happy with SNES Star Wars trilogy (great) and N64 Shadows of the Empire (not so great), but I would especially like some NEW Star Wars titles for Switch.
@SheldonRandoms That's my sentiment EXACTLY, RC Girls is top of my list this month and Downwell was never even on my radar. More power to anyone who wanted a hard copy of this one though. ββΊ
Let me see if I can possibly understand this, Nintendo FINALLY has the rights to Tetris again and this game in no way even remotely resembles Tetris DS!? Note to Nintendo: EVERY single Tetris game I've played since Tetris DS has been a BIG disappointment by comparison to your DS masterpiece... just something to consider.
Nintendo received alot of backlash for making a "better performing" 3DS because certain games could only be played on that model (Majora's Mask, for example). They would have to allow games that are optimized for a "Pro" model to still be playable on the other models.
Actually, Shigeru Miyamoto never intended Mario to have a mustache to begin with. It was just a way to make a recognizable nose with the limitations of pixels at the time. I'm glad he has the mustache, though... he just wouldn't be Mario without it.
I already have the Wii U version but I would love to have this for Switch, preferably included on a hard copy of the Disney Afternoon Collection (Capcom, are you listening?) π
"AAA"? Then It'll probably be something I have ZERO interest in. I like that they decided to reboot Streets of Rage, more titles along those lines would be nice, but I guess those aren't considered "AAA". As long as it's not another 3D sonic! π
@whanvee βββ Your "reasoning" completely escapes me. How about we as freedom-loving citizens not try to dictate which games belong on which consoles. The Switch has a diverse age demographic and there's certainly room for a wide variety of games on this platform, wouldn't you agree? This game is M/18 rated by the way (NOT intended for children). βπ
They've done just enough fine tuning on this version that I can justify buying it, FINALLY. I like the addition of an offline mode, I just wish we could play as Jason anytime we want. Also, it would've been awesome if Mrs. Voorhees was an unlockable character...
"Ki-Ki-Ki...A-A-A"!

I'll definitely play it but what is with these titles??? They just keep getting more incomprehensible with every new series. Also, I hope there is going to be a hard copy of this one.
This IS a surprise! What ISN'T a surprise is that I'll be buying yet another Switch port I never expected to see, but fine... whatever... take my money (what's left of it). I'll just go live in a gutter, naked, with my Switch and a whole bunch of awesome games... yeah, that's the life for me! π
Although neither of these games have aged well I'd still like to play atleast the first one (hard copy), there was nothing like it at the time (believe it or not) and I'd prefer playing it on my Switch rather than digging up the old N64 rig. Someone mentioned the fog/dust has been reduced, I hope that's not the case with the first one atleast because it was a great creepy effect when you'd hear the raptor's footsteps approaching from SOMEWHERE but WHERE!? Then suddenly you turn around and...
NOT WIRELESS yet again. I think I'll just "stick" with my X-Arcade stick, which still has support for current AND previous consoles (bundled adapters). Plus it doesn't cost much more than this one-console thing π
As I understand it, this is a Gamestop exclusive (3 game collection) so, NO DEAL. But I AM looking forward to the 4 game collection, assuming it's a hard copy and NOT a download code. πΎ
I know it's a prototype right now, but it just doesn't look quite big enough or "grippy" enough. Maybe the guy's hands in the photo are just kinda large? πβ
@MsK: I'm all for a hard copy too. And although I've been playing shmups since they were invented and now feel exhausted and burnt out with the genre I do feel inspired to play this one, one more time. Let's finish the game... π
OK! I'm sold! I've obviously seen the 60fps version and it looks smooooth. Also, the gameplay looks intriguing this time around (I skipped the first game) with overhead exploration combined with DKC-style sidescrolling. Assuming it's good, I'll buy it! π
