Update: Some of our lovely readers have pointed out the YouTuber BeatEmUps uploaded his own DIY video. Click here to take a look.
Original Article: When Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! was released last November, a themed accessory line followed. Nintendo even launched a special edition Switch with appropriately-matched Joy-Cons. One thing the Japanese company did not add to this accessory line-up was a themed Pro Controller. This was presumably because the new entries in the Game Freak developed series are not compatible with this control method.
If you were still hoping for a Let's Go Switch Pro Controller, third-party accessory manufacturer ShellPlus has released a replacement shell for your existing game pad over on Amazon. Instructions to replace the old shell with the new one are included, but you'll also need to have the right Philips head screwdriver.
As can be seen in the above and below images, the controller draws inspiration from the themed Joy-Con - with one side of the leather grip yellow and the other side of it brown. There are also red, yellow, green and blue buttons included with the shell and a Pokémon pattern on the front and back of the casing.
Customer reviews so far state how the shell feels both comfortable and durable, but many have also pointed out the fact that this still doesn't make the Switch Pro Controller anymore compatible with the latest Pokémon games.
Would you be interested in this themed-shell, even if the Pro Controller isn't compatible with the Let's Go? Are you disappointed Nintendo didn't add Pro Controller support to these games? Tell us in the comments.

That's been out since last September. Same company also made smash shells. Not an exact replica though.
Why are people so obsessed with the colored buttons?! Sure SNES nostalgica but still...
Wooow...!

But Nothing can beat this White Pro Controller with Super Famicom colored buttons. 😎
@Spectra exactly my thoughts on this. I was actually expecting him to be quoted in the article.
@Spectra @Balta666 It's a Liam Doodle article, did you expect well written/provocative free content?.
I know yellow and brown are the colors from LG Pikachu and Eevee... but they are honestly a pretty hideous combination in my opinion. Also, why Pikachu and Pichu, rather than Pikachu and Eevee?
If I was going to go with a custom Pokemon themed controller shell, I'd want Gold and Silver themed. With Lugia and Ho-oh.
Or going even more custom, Pokemon Red and Green/Fire Red Leaf Green with a Mario and Luigi double theme! Now THAT would be cool!
@Anti-Matter that is pretty nice. But I'd prefer black face buttons on a white controller like that. Just personal preference. Or, if colored buttons, I'd want them all colored, not just the face buttons.
It’s not leather, at least not on the official pro controllers. It’s vinyl. But very comfy all the same.
@Balta666 @Spectra I sourced this from NintendoSoup.
Seems like a lot of effort to make your Pro Controller look hideous.
That looks awful :/
@NybroCymerej @Balta666 @Spectra Hey all, I've updated this article to include this information. Next time tag me. Thanks again.
Look on the bright side. At least you'll be able to use that in Pokémon 2019. Hopefully, haha...
...Please.
Rubbing salt in the wound? What do you mean b... Oh yeah I remember now
Ohhhhhhhhhh! This looks so lovely. I would like to have one of my own.
@WaveBoy Yes, please! I’d love a controller with switchable dpad and analog stick. The awkward Pro Controller's dpad is the reason why I prefer playing indies on PS4.
@IKAY - I always though the coloured buttons looked childish and tacky. Always preferred the purple/lilac of the US SNES.
@Liam_Doolan +1 thanks.
The next step is a Halo-themed Joy-con.
Watch as my comment is eventually made irrelevant by Master Chief's inclusion in Smash Bros.Adding insult to injur-eevee
@IKAY I love the SNES-style colored buttons. Maybe it's the fact that I never had a SNES growing up (megadrive-guy here). I just don't think the colored buttons work well with a clear shell. I'd prefer them to be black then. Also the brown and yellow grips look kinda out of place with that clear shell in my opinion.
@Prizm The purple buttons are nice too, maybe a little more mature and less toyish than the colored ones. Still I prefer the multicolor ones. I don't know why but with Nintendo I can stand things to look somewhat childish. But with companies like Sony I want stuff to have that smartphone like premium look.
I think it's a bit off to have an accessory to look like a game that doesn't even support it. I wish Nintendo would add a pro-controller support on the game. I mean the controller has motion on it, it could work the same way as handheld-mode switch. It's annoying to play pokemon let's go docked if one doesn't want to detach joycons. The pokeball must be selected from the menu that needs the switch to be taken off the dock.
Don't like the Pokémon theme but those colored buttons look great!
Weren’t we all crucifying Soulja Boy over intellectual property just about two minutes ago?
Where's the love for Eevee? Why doesn't Eevee have it's own controller?
Not a bad shell, but why when you cant even play the game it's based on with it. Much like if this were Gears of War or Uncharted themed. Cool, but why?
Brown and yellow, with rainbow buttons, kind of a disgusting combo, not aesthetically pleasing whatsoever. I like the little Pikachus, in fact I'd like this way more if both handles were yellow and the face buttons were OG black. As it stands, honestly putrid.
They should make one for a game that isn’t a blatant cash grab.
@IKAY Because they look freaking awesome?
I'd take those button's throw the rest and mod my black Pro.
There are pokemon I don't bother catching when docked because the joycon is so incredibly bad with that motion if they're moving around. Got tired of wasting ultra balls because they went straight ahead when I was aiming to the side.
Bought a pro controller, wasn't recognized by the game, found out it's not supported. Thanks, Nintendo, for the strangest lack of support for a controller I've ever seen.
