Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2

kereke12

No one outside the fanboy world is underestimating it, and that includes the casual gamers who know nothing. The media including digital foundry are underestimating the console. Still using PS4/Xbox One has baseline power example. I feel like the media is playing with the minds of the causal gamers in thinking that the Switch is using old technology when clearly it's not.

Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"

kereke12

@UltimateOtaku91 That's my thinking too, I suspect American markets going up but it would be odd to do it for European markets and maybe the Japanese market but then again a few months ago the PS5 had to be raised a couple yens due to inflation and whatnot from the Japanese market.

Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"

kereke12

I suspected it would be around $400, but anything higher will overkill the system for a short period of time. Yeah, you can use the excuse of the global economy, but if the system doesn't have the games it needs, the power, marketing, and basic functions that people have been asking for, Nintendo is in deep trouble. I don't know I'm starting to get worried.

Re: Analyst Expects Switch 2 To Sell Like Hot Cakes In Its First Quarter

kereke12

There are several reasons why it's impossible to assume the Nintendo Switch 2 will automatically "sell like hotcakes" in its first quarter, even if analysts predict it. While Nintendo has a strong track record, the current market conditions introduce significant uncertainty. Here’s why:

1. Economic Uncertainty & Consumer Spending

Global inflation and economic instability have made consumers more cautious about discretionary spending. If the Switch 2 launches at a higher price point, buyers may hesitate, especially with competing gaming options and budget constraints.

2. Market Saturation & Brand Fatigue

The original Nintendo Switch has sold over 130 million units, meaning a large portion of the target audience already owns one. If the Switch 2 isn’t a significant leap forward or doesn’t offer compelling exclusives, many may wait rather than upgrade immediately.

3. Competition from Sony, Microsoft & PC Gaming

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are still in their prime, with strong game libraries and price drops making them more appealing. Additionally, handheld gaming PCs like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally have carved out a niche, potentially drawing away Nintendo's audience.

4. Potential Supply Chain Issues

Even if demand is high, supply chain disruptions (which have affected gaming hardware in the past) could limit availability. If Nintendo can't meet demand, sales numbers might not reflect actual interest.

Conclusion: A Strong Start Isn’t Guaranteed

While Nintendo has a dedicated fanbase, external market factors and competition make it risky to assume the Switch 2 will instantly sell at record-breaking levels. It all depends on pricing, game lineup, marketing strategy, and global economic conditions.

Re: Talking Point: Why An LCD Screen Isn't The End Of The World For Switch 2

kereke12

Like I said on Twitter and most people refuse to acknowledge is that OLED would make the device more expensive. Even Valve acknowledges this when they first released the Steam Deck. Plus most PC handhelds are not even OLED and most OLED displays are beyond $500 and I think for right now Nintendo wants to cut corners and keep the device below $500. Maybe a year down the line they will do what Valve did and release the OLED console later on. But I do not see OLED being the first option in release. But then again how do we know what screen type it is when the console is not fully released? Going based on rumors is not helpful.

Re: Talking Point: Would $499 Be Too Much For 'Switch 2'?

kereke12

I haven't been on this website in years but I wanted to chime in on this debate. For me, it would have to depend on how big of an upgrade it is. That includes storage space, how powerful it is, what type of features it has, and the games that are coming for the system on launch day. But honestly, Nintendo will have a hard time with it if they are priced at $500 if the storage space isn't at least 500 GB. Anything less would be a disaster. There are many things I could see go right and wrong with the next system. My only worry is the storage space it would have. But then again if Valve can get away with selling the Steam Deck starting at $400 with only 64 GB of storage. I won't be surprised if Nintendo did something like that.

Re: Soapbox: 3DS' Boundless Creativity Got Me, And Nintendo, Through Some Tough Times

kereke12

The 3DS has also gotten me through the toughest times in my life, even though I could not fully enjoy it due to reasons, I enjoyed the heck out of it and I'm very sad Nintendo is shutting it down. I wish Nintendo did what Xbox does with their game preservation. Hopefully, their next-gen system allows us to download the games we have bought from previous consoles. Game preservation is key.

Re: Soapbox: A Nintendo Fan's Hopes and Dreams for the NX

kereke12

I stopped reading when I read that the NX needs a touch-screen and backwards compatibility for Wii U. For starters yes it needs something unique but to bring back a touch-screen controller for the NX is basically asking Nintendo to fail or make another Wii U system. Nintendo needs to get away from touch-screen gimmicks and make a regular controller. As for backwards compatibility of the Wii U. Nintendo needs to step away from that and make a powerful system with an X86 processing unit. How pathetic are you fanboys.

Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero's Delay Could Be The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin

kereke12

I agree, it is the final nail in the coffin. Or it's already dead. The Wii U has no games the only game it has is Nintendo games and some indie games. The main games that were suppose to come out in 2015 is delayed. Zelda and now Starfox. If Nintendo want's to stay on top. Then they need to do things right for the Nintendo NX but seeing all those patents makes it seems that they going once they are going a step backwards instead of going forward.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Dismissal of Chris Pranger Highlights Issues With Company Culture

kereke12

People bashing on Nintendo don't know nothing about how companies work especially if it's a big company like Nintendo. Once you get hired you are asked to sign a disclosurer that states that you are not authorized to speak about a company good or bad under any circumstances. But I do feel bad that he lost his job. To the point. It was a bad judgment call and he paid for his action. I do wish him the best.

Re: Nintendo: Wii U GamePad Is The Only Real Innovation This Console Cycle, But We Didn't Showcase It Well Enough

kereke12

It took 3 years for Nintendo to figure that out? Seriously you guys don't surprise me at ALL. I've always said that Nintendo could of done wonders with the game-pad. But unfortunately they themselves didn't know what to do with the Wii U. Like some people here said they should of sold it separate and just added the Pro Controller. We'll see in 2016 if they learned there lessons.

Re: Speculation Grows That AMD Will Provide the Nintendo NX Processor

kereke12

Well that rumor that pop-up a few months ago that AMD will provide a new CPU/GPU. Plus they did mention 2016 is when a new console is going to be released and the one who's coming out is Nintendo. No one else other then Nintendo is going to release a console...Not unless a new Android console is coming out but by then they would of released it or announced it during E3.

Re: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away Aged 55

kereke12

I know this isn't the time but I have to say this. The last thing he heard from us was that we hated this year's E3. The fact that he heard that makes me feel like complete crap. I'm very speechless on this news....He basically made our childhood if you think about it. For those who are 21 years and below. May he rest in peace.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4

kereke12

What the hell makes this random guy so damn creditable....I simply can't not comply on how this guy is damn creditable....Yeah he made some prediction but anyone could of figured that out. Sorry but I'm going to take a full bottle of salt and wait until 2016. Knowing Nintendo it will be true but it's better to wait...If it's in par with Xbox One. Then that's pretty damn good.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Shipping This Time Next Year, 20 Million Sales Targeted In First 12 Months

kereke12

This makes me cringe like crazy. If they say what its true. If they are producing the console this year & they expect to sell by Summer of 2016. They must be crazy. There’s no way a console is going to sell well during the summer. When everyone is short on money. My guess is that we could expect a Nintendo Direct by February Or close to April and it would be stupid if they release it by summer. They need to show it off during E3. Which is a bit obvious. I don’t know we just have to wait. If this is true. Then I will have to hold off on buying an Xbox One…..man this makes me cringe.
